Congrats dear.

Papiroza, note the highlighted. Just go on your trip with your correspondence and enough dollars. The intent letter is not needed since you had vacationed before

Thanks again and again. I actually read the testimony in quote too. I have decided to tell DW to go without us writing the change of intent letter. JFK will likely be the POE. I think the bigger deal is sorting out the issue of getting a doctor , a hospital and paying the necessary fees, in addition to having enough cash at hand. All will be well. Gracias!

Just received this

Na wao, this is serious. I hope and pray other banks don't follow their steps. And to imagine that we can't get PTA and most of the foreign medical facilities are not accepting form A.

Maybe their decision to stop offering international ATM transactions is due to the recent harassment of some bank workers by EFFC for exorbitant charges.

I just tire for this our country.

Dear NL,

Thank you for your contributions on this forum!
Reporting from In town suites, El paso. I would like to share my POE experience.
Arrived Houston via London yesterday at 2.15pm (Lufthansa/united airline). The queue was very long, stood for almost 2 hrs. There were very few CBPs on duty and just before it got to my turn, 3 of them closed ( I was happy though because their faces were not too friendly). na so this middle-aged man resume duty, the traffic Marshall directed me to his desk.

CBP : Hello
Me: Hello sir, handed my passport and landing card to him
CBP: Why are you going to El Paso?
Me: Vacation and to have my baby (said this with all confidence, looking straight into his eyes)
CBP: To have what?
Me: my baby
CBP: OK, you are here for child birth?
Me: Yes
CBP: where will you be staying?
Me: In town suites
CBP: place your right four fingers on scanner, remove your glasses and look at the camera please
Me: I did
CBP: when is EDD
Me: in 4weeks
CBP: How much money do you have?
Me: I have paid obstetrician's fee and I have 8170 $ cash with me.
CBP: Nodded
CBP: Do you have any food ?
Me:Yes, I have got garii (paused)
CBP: What else
Me: yam flour
CBP: stamps me in for 6 months
To God be the glory, all this took less than 5minutes, he didn't even sight the money, no secondary inspection, no agric check.

BTW, I applied for the visa last year may for purpose of vacation. went with my family on vacation in august, spent a month. I conceived in September (failed fam planning method), so I decided to birth in the USA since I have a valid B2 visa. I didn't write change of intent cos i had already used the visa for its intended purpose.
PS..honesty and prayers really helped.

Chilling and waiting for my appointment this morning.

A few months later, big Oga say make em and e wifey go US for vacay. Them reach embassy. The Vo ask am 'are you sure this is your wife?'
Ah ah, which levels na? This is my wife.
Na em the vo turn computer show am picture and details. Na em oga just waka leave the place. That was the end of solomon grandy.

@Nnystc..All i can say is WOW!!! Such words of encouragement...cant begin to imagine what u went tru. No wonder why u gat joy like a river. Loll. This is a testimony indeed and since there is no distance in the Spirit, @blaize777, tap into this testimony as the God that did it is still on the throne, the glory of the latter shall surpass the former IJN.

Nnystc:
Dear blaize777 kiss
I'm not happy reading your recent posts (bolded below+the other where you said your tears have run out)!
So perhaps you need some hard truths (I realise we are Nigerians anyway, na strong word na im dey enter us pass soft words)
Are you a FTM? Yes? Then I think I understand where you're coming from ). But then...
True story:
When I had my first child, i had chicken pox in week 39, had to be induced in week 42. Then he was distressed in the womb, passed meconium inside my womb, apgar score of 3 or so. On coming out he was diagnosed with some nonsense congenital ish, and given 3 months to live. As a FTM I was inconsolable, rolling on the floor crying, asking myself who have I offended, who hates me this much? Why must mine be different?
Long story short, because I would not let go and let God, I ended up with a partial stroke. That's what my depression got me o. So I became a casualty.

Q- Was I able to help my kid then?
A- Even an onuku knows the answer to that...

I was barred from breastfeeding, even from holding the child. I added to the problem on ground.

But after all this my eye opened (spiritually tho, physically I was a mess... I looked like a freak sideshow!)

What did I do after that, I had to painstakingly cast my mind back to how good God had been to me in the past... All the strong things He had brought me through...
You know when bible said "And David encouraged himself in the Lord " that was me right there.
You know what I did? I would pick the child up, look sternly at baby and start speaking...
-I carried you in my womb, this womb (slapping my stomach! cheesy) for 9 months
-Those 9 months were not for nothing oh.
-I am your mother! You must listen to me and heed my voice
-You shall not die, must not die, you're not permitted to die!
- You will live.
-Rise up and respond to treatment
Can't remember all the things I told this child biko. Pickin jus' dey look me.

I was declaring like mad... you know ministering angels don't respond to tears, they respond to errands you send them on. I was dishing out orders concerning my baby and myself.

This child given 3 months to live is a big kid now, the next blink he'll be ready for secondary school... I still order him around, I just even ordered a batch of koboko for him the other day grin

My sister, be of good courage. I still maintain there is NOTHING God cannot do. He's just waiting for you to touch heaven with your faith.

I remember when I went through mine, I had periods of doubt and I would still say "Lord I believe you, but the circumstances are fighting my faith, Pls help my unbelief!"
All this I just spoke about happened here in Lagos oh! Where equipment nor dey, not to talk of better doctors. But God sent help...

E come be you wey dey Yankee!
Remember that Some people are back home who wish they had the opportunity to rack up NICU bills to save a life, but God chose you to get the visa. Maybe that visa was issued for "such a time as this" according to Mordecai.

So why am I writing this epistle? So you will brace yourself.
Your matter will be resolved.

Start figuring out where to organise koboko for when li'l mama will grow into lil drama queen grin They always do!

Frank Edwards song says:
My God is still changing lives
He's still alive doing good
He is the source of your strengthhhhh
My God is still changing lives

Changing livesss. .. (somebody help me sing jor! )

E-hugs!

Make I go check if this strike still dey happen today... wink

Lawyer123:
Hello house,Pls my friend needs your help. This is her story below:

Hello everyone, I had my interview yesterday now I was rejected. This would be my 3rd interview so far in 2016.
The first time in Jan 2016,I had just got recently married and wanted to go for my honeymoon but was rejected. (Pls note my husband has a valid visa)
The 2nd interview in Feb 2016, i still maintained that I was going for a vacation with my husband and I told them our budget, how much I earned and my husband's income. However I was denied again.

I am currently 22weeks pregnant and i got that information after the second interview.I applied again (my husby paid the full hospital fee and Doctor fee which was 6850USD), I had my doctor correspondence along with confirmation of reciept of payment), budget sheet, statement of account, medical report.

The transcript thus;

Me: Good morning Sir
VO; good morning , your passport please ( handed over my passport)
VO; why are you going to the US?
Me; I am going to deliver my baby (I started giving him my medical history), the fact that I currently have a history diabetes in pregnancy , I lost 2 of my elder sister - 1 died during childbirth and the other was a preterm, hence my husband being a doctor and knowing that the prenatal mortality rate in Nigeria is poor, we decided it's best to go to the US in order to have access to Better healthcare facility for me and our baby. ( while I was saying this he was already going through my doctor correspondent, receipt and my budget sheet in which I followed phema budget but made changes to suite my needs)
VO; so I can see that you were denied visa twice , what has changed?
Me: we just got married in Jan and we wanted to go for our honey moon in Hawaii in which was denied due to insufficient fund, however now I am pregnant and my medical condition of being diabetic is the reason why I am here for this interview.
Vo; sorry madam I am afraid I will have to disqualify you again bla bla bla
Me; please what is the reason ?
VO; sorry madam I will advice you give birth in uk or India
Me; excuse me sir , I deserve to know the reason as we have already paid the full medical fee
VO: sorry madam the hospital will refund you your money , I advice you deliver in the uk or India

Please what are my options now and where do you think I went wrong?(I'm thinking of reapplying or seeking a petition)

PLEASE HELP VERY URGENT

This VO harsh o! Ah ah!

Hi everyone. I want to narrate my POE experience and I thank God for this forum cos it taught me to always say the truth. I had already booked my ticket with HOUSTON as my POE before I stumbled on this thread. I arrived houston feeling a bit jittery.
When I got to the officer he asked me why I was in the us to which I replied to have my baby. He asked how much I had and if I had any food stuff. He proceeded to escort me to secondary inspection .
After about 15 mins. I was called into a room and asked the same questions over again.

CBP officer: how much do u have?
Me:$10,000
CBP officer: have you made any payments
Me: no the hospital said I would be booked and can make payment only on arrival.
CBP officer: do u av any other source of funds
Me: I have 2 credit cards and 2 debit cards
CBP officer: how much are on these cards.
Me: about $3k on each of the credit cards,N1m on my debit card which is about $5k.
CBP officer: can you prove the balance on ur debit card account?
Me: I have my last alert.I cld av opened my bank app but no Internet.
CBP officer:u can open it we have free airport wifi.
Me: ooh. Proceeds to open the app shows him all my balances.
CBP officer. Does any body give birth to their kids in Nigeria anymore?
Me: of course I had my other kids in Nigeria.
Proceeds to count my cash after calling another officer. And starts to make jokes about how everybody in Nigeria is coming to america to birth. E.t.c.
After counting the cash ,returns money to me and stamps me in for 6 months.
Gives the usual zero balance advise and all that.

That's all folks.

Thank you o jare. Like I said, I now follow this thread religiously. I'm just a little confused on how to write the letter change of intent. On this forum, I've read testimonies of people who fail to write the letter and still scaled through at POE. I've also read about those who wrote and got a generic response, stipulating that entering the USA is purely at the discretion of the CBP and immigration at the POE. In similar vein, some have written and got their visas cancelled. Hope u understand my dilemma. I don't have any reason to lie during the renewal and frankly didn't understand the differences in these visas. That's my fault anyways. Letter or not, so long I desire to have my kid in US, it will happen. The covenant I have with God is that He will grant all my wishes. Thanks for wishing me safe trip.
.

I think you should not bother with the letter. Just get ur documents and cash. Or if u can afford it go for a vacation before the birthing trip
