aodis:In my opinion, you do not need any immigration lawyer. All you need do is work on the reason(s) you were refused, by ensuring your circumstances have changed beyond doubts before reapplying. Don't forget every applicant has a record on the Embassy's database and the moment an applicant reapplies after refusal, what the ECO will first check is whether or not the circumstances surrounding your refusal have changed considerably. As a matter of fact, if you were refused yesterday, you could reapply today...provided your circumstances have changed with compelling evidence/proof. Cheers |

Hello justwise and other experienced nairalanders My sister has just been refused visa to Canada, the reason being because of low travel history, My Uncle would have been financially capable of footing her bills while in canada. We had resolved to bolster her travel history by letting her come to the UK to join me, who is currently on a Tier 4 visa to the UK which expires in january 2017. I also have a wife and kid who are still in Nigeria but will join me before my current visa expires when i start my Ph.D program in the same January. Me and my uncle are kind of financially okay to sponsor her. I have three things to ask I am a Government sponsored student for both MSc and Ph.D but i guess my letter only covers for just me. 1. What is the most recent documentations I need to make this possible for my sister and what to watch out for to avoid refusal based on the review on 6 april. 2. What is the best category of visa to use. 3. For my wife and kid, Can you refer to me a post where someone has been successful for Tier 4 dependency visa and what was done to obtain visa, I have been without both of them and I can do with a refusal of visa for them. Please assist |

fobak203: What is your sister currently doing in Nigeria and what is her age range? I don't think you will have problems getting dependant visa for your wife..this link will give you the information you need https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/477216/PBS_dependant_guidance_11-15.pdf Especially the financial requirement section |

Pls house. Under this NEW UK visa portal, how can one apply for visiting visa-tourism as a family. I have at least an under-7 years old child that is part of the family and understandably does not have email account yet. It appears I cannot use one visa account (with my email address) for two applications, how will I then link the applications of the 5 of us as a family? Thanks |

Hello house, please I would like to find out if it's possible to apply for a US visiting visa while in the UK for a Visit. Thank you |

kelljuili:What's your status in the UK? A visitor/student/citizen? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Nobody: 9:01am On May 21, 2016 |
kelljuili:If you're a visitor and not resident in the UK, please come back home and book an appointment for your visa. However, you may search for US NIV on nairaland where you'd have the opportunity to ask the VO this question direct.(Yes! US Embassy is also on Nairaland). Please look it up...or search for... Travel / U.S. Immigration Questions: Ask A U.S. Consular Officer... I'm sure he'll tell you the same. Good luck! |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by askari01: 9:51am On May 21, 2016 |
johnsmith866: My friend, it's not about building up an account, you may still get the visa if you have a Salary Account that shows that your employer pays your salary, it's possible the company have another account with 300 billion balance, so the -50M is not an issue, if you want to clear the air, provide your salary account, Infact if the account that you have 500k is ur salary account then just wait to receive 2 - 3 months salary to boost the account, then u can sponsor urself... with strong prayer your application will fly. |

Hello every one ... Please I have a question .my sister was turned back at the point of entry a year ago at the uk border . She was pregnant and was going to see her mum ...her visa was immediately revoked ... They said her offense was that she did not inform them that she was pregnant during her submission ... ( she got a 6 months visa ) her first attempt . Now she's trying to reapply again ... Please what are her chances ? Should she seek the help of an immigration lawyer ? Thanks . |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(m): 8:57pm On May 21, 2016 |
Mumtwins08: Let her apply and explained what happened a year ago and try as much as possible to meet all requirements. There is nothing an immigration lawyer will do for her a year after the incident |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Nobody: 9:30pm On May 21, 2016 |
Mumtwins08:*Smiles*...Probably your sister was going to put to bed in the UK, which was not a bad idea. Nigerians often like hiding this from the ECO because of the non-appearance nature of their visa processing, most times. If it were to be US Consulate, she would have been refused during the interview, provided she had compelling evidences of health care coverage and/or enough bills that would take care of her delivery and postnatal care, while in their country. I have had instances where Nigerians became liabilities to the Hospitals in the UK and USA after delivery( I witnessed that of USA because it was close to my apartment in Buffalo, Upstate NY in 2004). Embassies often receive reports of such concurrences and forward same to their home and overseas mission offices. Now, I am not saying your sister was not buoyant enough to foot her bills. She ought to have explained to the ECO of her condition ( even though she was not going to put to bed while in the UK). She could have still been issued her visa . These people crave transparency and honesty much. No embassy issues visa in Nigeria, same with other countries where they have mission offices. Upon approval of your visa, your information would be forwarded to their home office for visa issuance. The Information and the code your visa comes with, will now be printed on the sticker which they always keep here so, copies of every information you presented during your visa processing are also available at their entry borders which was why your sister was caught. However, no hope is lost yet. The same happened to my cousin's wife but in US. She did not tell the VO she was going to put to bed when she was applying for her NIV. She was caught and was refused when she reapplied because the VO discovered she overstayed. It was on record that she was going for a week training programme and that she was also pregnant at the time she appeared for the previous interview but she did not say she was going to put to bed. When the VO asked her, she did not know what to say as the question caught her unawares. I told her to wait for 3 months after which she could reapply and write a letter that she lied and asked the VO to pardon her. She reapplied and another VO asked her the same question and she quickly apologised and the VO said it's ok. Her visa was approved( 2 years Multi). Kindly forgive me if my explanation is somewhat harsh as I will never tell you lies...after all, you came for a solution and I believe there are many others in this forum who are also straightforward and would advise you appropriately . It does not matter if your sister was going to put to bed in the first place( or even now) or not, simply tell her to write a letter, addressed to the ECO that she was sorry as she did not mean to hide anything from the ECO,bla, bla, bla. Engaging immigration lawyer is not necessary, except she has some money to blow. She should also pray for favour whenever she reapplies. Good luck to her 2 Likes |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by tunderule2016: 10:18pm On May 21, 2016 |
chances are still ok... she just need to explain her situation in the additional information box..(maybe a personal letter) and more also, she needs to accept her ignorance about not declaring her pregnancy state when applying as she did not know she is required to do so and she intend not to furstrate the immigration law anymore. She should re-apply and she will be fine.... On the other hand.... Giving birth in the UK does not add any thing at all to the child except if the child is for a British national. Anyways good luck to your sister and am sure she will be ok. Mumtwins08: |

Hello house, good day. I will like seek for some advice, especially from those in University Of Huddersfield. Some representatives from university of Huddersfield came to Port Harcourt on Friday, they came to help students secure admission into their University, both graduate and undergraduate studies. To my greatest surprise, they offered a 4000 pounds waiver for students who register through them. For example, the initial fee for master's there for international students is 13,000 pounds, hence with the waiver it's slashed down to 9000 pounds. Could this be genuine?. Because am seriously considering the offer. |

Hello justwise and members of the house, i will like to ask a question. IF an upcoming footballer 17years of age wants to enrol in a soccer academy in the uk, what procedure does he need to follow? will his stay in the uk be limited based on his visa? will a budget of 3million naira be enough for the trip and enrolment fee? and are there any plan for soccer scholarship in the uk? and how long does he need to stay in the uk before he get his work permit? |

SAINTSAMURAI: I suspect that you are about to be scammed of your money by fake football trials scam. You will NEVER get anything like permission to work from that route. I suggest that you research playing international football using Google. Trouble is I know how fixated football mad youths are, they just do not listen to anyone! |

worry359:hmmm true though, but are there no soccer academies that one could enrol into like getting enrol into a college? well i will run more research on google. |

klas: Yes you can, except you're doing the wrong thing. Also note that all applicants applying for a visit visa who are aged under the age of 18 at the time of application should select the “Special Visitor – Child” category when making their visa application. They should not apply as a General Visitor or Family Visitor. Failure to comply with this may result in delays in processing their application. |
