Hello justwise and members of the house, i will like to ask a question. IF an upcoming footballer 17years of age wants to enrol in a soccer academy in the uk, what procedure does he need to follow? will his stay in the uk be limited based on his visa? will a budget of 3million naira be enough for the trip and enrolment fee? and are there any plan for soccer scholarship in the uk? and how long does he need to stay in the uk before he get his work permit?

If u don't want to become a saint true true, just don't try enter this scam, One of my family friend just left kirikiri after paying 700K to one yeye agent, they call it "come and travel" or football trial... like worry365 said, The won't just want to listen cos I told the boy to stop communicating with the agent. He didn't see his passport but was told you get his travel luggages ready and meet them at the MMA, when they got there, they gave them pali with genje visas from there to kirikiri. Niger don hard, No money to waste.

Hello house, good day. I will like seek for some advice, especially from those in University Of Huddersfield.
Some representatives from university of Huddersfield came to Port Harcourt on Friday, they came to help students secure admission into their University, both graduate and undergraduate studies.
To my greatest surprise, they offered a 4000 pounds waiver for students who register through them. For example, the initial fee for master's there for international students is 13,000 pounds, hence with the waiver it's slashed down to 9000 pounds.
Could this be genuine?. Because am seriously considering the offer.

A little research will help bruv....

first to this http://www.hud.ac.uk/international/
here is agent zone of the school http://www.hud.ac.uk/international/agent-zone/ you can get email of the school and ask them to give you the names or list of agents in nigeria; they will be willing to help..

You can find the below here http://www.hud.ac.uk/international/scholarships/

On scholarships to Nigerians ...

Nigerian Scholarship
Key facts

Students starting in September 2016:
For students of all Schools.
An additional £2000* is available for taught Master's courses on top of the standard £2000 scholarship (*Only £1000 is available for School of Art, Design and Architecture students and only for those with First or 2:1 Bachelor degree classification).

Here is another scholarship...

Africa School of Education and Professional Development Scholarships
This scholarship is worth £2000 towards the cost of your tuition fees, in addition to the Scholarships for new international Master's students. It is available for all African students who are self-funded and have applied for a postgraduate taught course in the School of Education and Professional Development. For more information please contact our Official Representatives in Nigeria, Wilson Kumesine on w.kumesine@hud.ac.uk and Tomi Orojinmi on t.orojinmi@hud.ac.uk or tel: +234(0)8132263443 (Port Harcourt Office) or +234(01)4536437 (Lagos Office).

LOL!!! Thanks for this valuable info. It will go a long way in helping a lot of people here. You know what? The ECO doesn't want to issue you a visa in the first place. He's/she's not your friend so every opportunity will be explored by them to refuse you. UK isn't buoyant economically anymore so, they always look for flimsy excuses to refuse people visa, even though you met all their requirements. That's why every potential applicant must not take chances when preparing their applications. Submit genuine documents and try as much as you can, to avoid common mistakes, then leave the rest in God's care...it's always good to pray at times before meeting these haters called ECOs/VOs because self confidence isn't enough. I've seen a man with 2 different US visas on his passport with robust travel history who was still refused UK, a few years back. He's CEO of a company, who was supposed to travel with 2 of his engineers on training in the UK. They gave the 2 engrs(first time applicants) but refused him(the reason, I didn't know). He was ranting at the collection centre. I just thanked God for His favour on my visa application and walked away.. they're so full of themselves.

The supposed big man must have broker a wrong deal, recourse to public fund, or generic law broken to warrant such refusal. My thoughts though undecided

No, she doesn't need a visa.
To be on the safe side, get the Nig passport for her especially if she has overstayed on the duration stamped on her US passport when u brought her into Nig.
You should travel with both passports.

Hello Guys.

I'm applying for my UK visa and would wanna complete everything this week, including the appointment. Please I have a couple of wquestions:

1. I was referred to this site https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/uk-visit-visa . Can someone confirm that this is the actual website? Thank you. It was referred to me from the main site being https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome

2. I'm only going for a visit, 3 weeks tops and I'll be staying with a friend. What documents would I possibly need? I work so i understand my payslips would be required. The person I'll be staying with has also offered to send a letter stating he'll be taking care of the feeding and accommodation. I guess that's also necessary?

Plus what other documents please? As I wouldn't want to go without being ready. Thanks.

3. What's the easiest way to book flights to UK? and how can I get cheap to and fro flights?

Thanks guys, to anyone that would be kind nough to respond to my questions.

The easiest way is getting your PTA via Stanbic bank. However, you must have an account with them and do this physically in their head office in Lagos (Adeola Odeku I think). You will then wait (maybe a month or 2) to receive a call for pick up if successful. I think Standard Chartered bank also does give customers PTA. Other banks nah wash.

Alternatively if you don't have an account with Stanbic, you will need change sum amount for taxi/train & few expenses at these costly BDC (be sure you do this with the BDC that has office o. Avoid fake £ Pls) once u land, you can use your MasterCard on most banks ATM at a little reduced price on Max of $300/day.
As at March this year, I changed # - £ @443 with BDC while withdrawn in uk @ #421/£ plus flat charge rate of #421per withdrawal.

It's simple. Load your ATM master cards with cash, get to Heathrow (if you must be liquid from the airport) and withdraw 300USD or GBP equivalent daily at a good rate...it's usually below 300 naira to a dollar. If you have like 2 or 3 different master cards, you're good to go. Just load each with enough naira and withdraw the 300usd equivalent each with the 2 cards, from their ATMs when you get there. I'm in Switzerland right now on business. I have 4 different master cards, as a business man(2 for savings and 2 for current accounts issued by different banks). I withdraw 1200usd equivalent here daily. Alternatively if you have a trusted relation in the UK that you're going, get the person's ID details and walk into any first bank branch nearest to you. Send money by western union and the person will receive at the rate of 253 naira to a dollar and hand it over to you once you're in. Cheers!

I dont think the fella was refused because of exchange rate o. He didnt upload reason of refusal, he simply stated that the ROE used in treating that application was 308.

Am just saying the rate at which they charge for the visa application is the black market rate. Just to tell you how insensitive they are, someone living abroad cannot use their credit card or debit card to pay for the application fee. It must be paid using Nigeria cards and that's why you can't escape the rate they are charging to pay for the app fees online.

Sorry for the ECO's libellous act on your mum's visa application. A few days ago when I was advising a nairalander in this forum not to panic because of the mistake made on a visa application form, and I digressed a bit, that I was once emailed by ECO during one of my visa applications in the past, asking why our TCC carried a different/new logo, instead of the former one with the Nigerian coat of arms, some members here who read the post must have thought it was a cooked-up story. Now, your mum's Cert of Reg issue will clear such doubts. These people are needlessly meticulous. They pay attention to every detailed info you bring to their fore. Maybe the format of the cert of Inc has also been changed by CAC and the ECO didn't bother to verify. He/she might have stated it in the refusal letter that she actually verified the cert of Inc with CAC ,just to make her think he/she carried out an in-depth assessment on your mum's application...I guessed the ECO took a decision in a hurry after noticing a change in the cert of Inc's format or logo. Our govt agencies too no dey try. CAC had changed their logos and certificate design/format several times without notifying the general public(mine issued in 2010 was also different from the previous ones I'd seen). They ought to be notifying embassies of every little change on the certificates they issue to the public, to avoid undue punishment in the name of applying for a visa (after paying so much fee, which is non-refundable). Viewing it from another perspective, the ECO could have verified as claimed but the lawyer gave the job to a third party in the process, who now did 'genje' and gave it to your mum. If your mum has a compelling evidence, she could still get her visa after reapplying. Those aforementioned documents would help and even more, as they're inexhaustible(just to fight this case) . Please before she reapplies, tell her to do an affidavit in a court like high court, listing all the docs and stating that all of them are true and genuine. you can even do this yourself, without engaging any lawyer. Go to Ikeja on her behalf with those documents. Meet the people who are adept in processing affidavits. the moment you cross under the bridge towards Ikeja general hospital, you'd have seen them on both sides whispering to you and asking if you want to do affidavit. Pls tell the person that you don't want an ordinary red seal affidavit(which anybody can get by the road side). Tell the person that, what you what is the stamped-logo which is usually in pink ink(and not a red sticker). They will charge you for this though, because they charge per stamp, but negotiable. The stamp will almost litter the affidavit as it will be stamped many times but it's ok(insist you want it that way). With this and other accompanying documents, the 10-year ban could be reversed and she could be issued her visa, if truly those documents are hers and genuine. Also tell her to present the case to baba God.

The bold statement is very important. The lawyer may not even know if the business registration is genuine. Go and do more verifications all by urself.
1. Check if the names with the CAC correlate with her travel docs

2. Write a very strong letter, with a genuine affidavit and with God it will end in praise.
