TPAND: Before China attained their level today, they banned foreign made goods and encouraged local production. it was an offence to even smoke foreign cigarette. but we import pins and. tooth picks etc. we need to look inwards . 3 Likes |

THE ONLY AVENUE TO STEAL, WAS TO IMPORT THE VEHICLES. IF A FORENSIC AUDIT WHERE TO BE CARRIED OUT, YOU WILL NOTICE THEY ARE OVER PRICED, OVER INFLATED, OVER RATED, OVER BLOWN TO BE OUT SOURCE. THE ONLY WAY TO STEAL. THE ONLY WAY TO STOCK - PILE FOREIGN PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNTS. THE SENATE THIEVES UNDER SARAKIS DID THEIRS OF RECENT. BANKS SELL DOLLARS TO THE PREVILAGE WHILE THE MASSES SUFFERS. OUR DOES GOV. GOT CONTRACTOR / SUPPLIERS GOT THEIR FOREIGN EXCHANGE AND AT WHAT COST. WHAT HAS OUR PRESIDENT GOT TO SAY NOW ? |

phemmyutd:IVM belongs to Nigeria, not some section of the country as some unfortunate people always paint it. So when you say 'home,' I regard 'home' to be the entire Nigeria. if one member of the family misbehaves, that is not a reason why everyone else should, because at the end, it is the entire family (Nigeria) that suffers. You guys have divided Nigeria too much, make una try rest small abeg. 1 Like |

Ofodirinwa: Well, it all depends on who the items were donated to. The Lagos State Governor and the other Governors, are not responsible for equipping any arm of our armed forces. Since the OP did not mention who the beneficiaries are, I will assume that they are Lagos State Government parastatals. |

TPAND: I don't know when you grew-up-- in the 70s, 80s, 90s or...?? growing up in the 70s there was a sentiment for poor quality and size of Japanese vehicles and product. Western companies as usual launched the propaganda of poor quality goods. Later it turned out that the whole world bought Japanese cars and electronics and they grew to become the second largest economy and nearly overtook US until the US imposed heavy import tax on Japanese goods and help stifle the growth leading to Japan's economic challenge of the 90s. Thereafter borrowed Japan some money. In the 80s, it was Taiwan. Most Bike and motor parts were imported from Taiwan. if you went to market those days to buy any of these parts you will ask the ibo trader not to give you Taiwan. You will rather ask for Japanese products. The propaganda again came and Taiwan products over time improved and became generally accepted creating the way for Chinese products in the late 80s, then 90s and again the propaganda from the west with Nigeria included complaining about the poor quality of Chinese goods. Today these products have improved and the whole world now buys Chinese. so why not Nigeria? Why not be an advocate of made in Nigeria product regardless what percentage of the product cycle is made in Nigeria or the quality, provided a part is made here. After-all the world is now a global village with different parts of a product made across international boundaries. We all will become richer if we did. The economy will boom. A type of this is bombing of the illegal refineries while promoting importation. why not subside, regulate and grow them. Think about it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Ofodirinwa:Are they state police? The act donating is actually right, because it's the federal who owns/controls the police, they only operate in his state, and since the federal can not provide adequate measures for them to carry out their duties, he the governor of the state is providing it. So he is donating to the course of security to be effective in his state. So what you saying? Please be informed 2 Likes |

Such lackadaisical Act is the Reason, the Europeans Renders Calls Us as BLACK MONKEYs! Even if its refers to Africa as a whole thus more to Nigeria! My mother does make Zobo juice; I complained about its quality then I went downtown to get from someone else: that's not Common Sense If I had use that same money to purchase my moms product, Possibly she could use that added profit to buy some ingredient to make Her zobo gain more quality than its use too! Furthermore Her Business will grow; in like manner Nigeria should Buy from 9ja to make Naira grow That's what I call Common Sense!! |

seunmsg:sapiosexual1: Is it not ironical that Ben Bruce has comment on Ambode who's made about the largest single donation of vehicles and security gadgets to the police force? While Seriake Dickson, governor of his home state, apart from battling mamoth of problems (Workers salary, volatile security and all) has not made a single donation of bicycle to the police in the last 1year 1 Like 1 Share |

TPAND:Ignorance they said is a bad disease let me clarify you a little bit of what you are unaware of,70% of innoson vehicles are been sourced in Nigeria for instance, cutix cable is supplying cables to innoson, Ibeto group is supplying innoson batteries and innoson on his own has tyre manufacturing plant he also has plastic company that is manufacturing car and motorcycle accessories so putting this and other together most of the component parts is been sourced in Nigeria for example even Mercedes in Germany have some of their component parts sourced outside Germany 2 Likes 1 Share |

khSteel:If u had a functional brain yourself, you would have realised that I personally have always been consistent in my opinions on national issues which i believe are strictly for the better good of the entire Nigeria (not just some ethnic enclave like most of you do). You can easily go back and check the history of my comments on NL to confirm my position on national issues. Obviously, the tribal and ethnocentric mentality, and some pointless die-hard political sentiments which pervades the atmosphere has rendered some of you incapable of thinking progressively, and you think everyone must be in the same tribal/ethnocentric boat as you, but you are wrong. Ajibel: A lot of people talk in ignorance and some just show bigotry. Lagos State government patronise Proforce. Proforce specialises in enhancing security and producing bullet proof or armoured vehicles. It is owned by Nigeria, an Ogun State indigene. Lagosians do not make an issue why they are buying from an Ogun State indigene. Lagos State government have a partnership with Coscharis and Ford, to develop local content in motor vehicle skill development and assembly. These folks are not looking in that direction. It is always about deep-sited hatred with these folks 4 Likes 1 Share |

TPAND: Making them in China is different from importing them from China. All over the world, different parts of almost every meaningful mechanical gadget, may be produced in different countries. Eg. Apple products. That doesn't make it any less an American product. The label(logo) is more important than where the parts are produced. As long as it has that IVM logo and some parts are made in Nigeria, and it is all assembled in Nigeria, then it is made in Nigeria. That's the norm and not an exception. 1 Like |
Re: Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Reply To Ambode by obailala(m): 11:42am On May 24, 2016 |
TPAND:Dear TPAND, Innoson vehicles are made in Nigeria, up to 60% of the vehicle parts are manufactured and fabricated in Nigeria, hence the vehicle can be said to be made in Nigeria. Even if it is just 20% that is made in Nigeria, the vehicle brand still remains Nigerian. And may I remind (or inform) you that there is hardly any vehicle brand the world over which is 100% domiciled in a particular country. Even outside the automobile industry, most of the manufacturing going on in the USA are done remotely in some place in Asia (mainly China). Also if you check the growth of the automobile industry in several countries who are known to be heavyweights, they all started little and the most potent ingredient which spurred their growth was local patronage; their governments created laws and legislations to force people to patronise local manufacturers, and that's how these companies grew. Once again, Innoson is Nigerian made, there's no such thing as assembled about Innoson. 2 Likes |

TPAND:All great manufacturing and exporting countries started from the bottom before getting to where they are today. China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan are all very good examples. Today the whole world imports items from China and world powers go to China to produce different items for them; this wasn't the case 20 years ago. FOod for thought: China which hitherto was known for only producing substandard products, but just recently, the UK and China signed an agreement for China to build a nuclear power plant in the UK; that is what happens when a country believes in itself. 2 Likes |

Ofodirinwa: Where do you think the funds for all the fancy police cars and gadets cops drive ans wear in the U.S. and other places come from? Money raining down from the sky or taxpayers money. And what's wrong with donating resources to help secure your own people anyway? You people come up with the silliest argument especially if the good news didn't come from your village. Anything and everything good that didn't come from your village is always a bad thing... How I wish you people spend the same energy on your non productive governors and villages. 2 Likes |

Olodo Twitter class prefect. Innoson is not a manufacturing company and the rubbish they join together is not made in Nigeria. Lagos state is not obligated to buy any worthless junk from anybody. And besides, many considerations goes into buying critical equipments for these life saving agencies like discounts, warrantee, maintenance, upgrades and so on. Jona his brother was the President for 6 years and did not mandate the government and agencies he presided over to buy Innoson and this albino loser didn't tweet 1 time that jona his brother should patronize naija and the same twitter nuisance was a member if that government for 8 long years. Was he driving Innoson? Was NTA driving Innoson? Useless clowns.. 2 Likes 1 Share |
