I am worried with the way the Niger Delta Avengers are blowing up the pipelines.
Is it still safe to leave our investment on the NSE?

For every situation, there will will always be winners and losers. One thing I know is that Upstream oil and gas companies will be sure losers.

Am more worried about the stability of the nation.
Should Nigeria disintegrate today, what will happen to NSE?

If the trend continues unabated this might see upstream players stock including that of banks taking a nose dive. This would be more grievous and serious when Q2 result is released and the impact affects their earnings. That is why investors need to exercise caution and restrain investing in banks stocks. Though the situation is being monitored and I remain hopefully that the federal government will perform its number one civic responsibility- security to avert the unwanted.

Its important we still keep our two eyes opened. Lets see if the military onslaught would yield any result. If negative, i see panic and gradual exit from the market

Good day. I bought stocks of the following companies around 2007/2008: CCNN, DANGFLOUR, DIAMONDBNK, ECOBANK, ETERNAOIL, FIRSTBANK, UBN, JAPAULOIL, LIVESTOCK, STDINSURE, UNOVINSURE.

Due to the erosion of value in the NSE thereafter, I lost interest in stocks and stopped following up.

I still have my last "investor account details" printed for me in 2008 and CSCS and Investors Account nos but the stockbroking firm that I used then has gone under.

What are the current prices of these stocks now and their prospects? How can I check the current status of my stock holdings? I have lost touch with stocks.

Omas Investment & Trust Company Limited. I also Googled the name and found out that NSE has revoked their license for being inactive.

yea, anyone who experienced the meltdown then will surely loose interest except some few of us who picked up our lives and moved on..back to d issue..u still av some stock doing not to bad now, so get ur interest back..u can move ur account to another active broking house..all u need to do is to visit one active house and fill a form called KYC(know ur customer form) the house then will get ur documents and approch the CSCS for verification and identifiction..in some cases, u may need to visit the Cscs urself if necessary..but first, visit an active broker first..hope dis helps..

Hate or like stock market is still only the investment platform that guarantees maximum return aside real estate...

Strategies you need to succeed in today's NSE; Define your investment horizon, do your due diligence before every purchase (though at times sentimental purchase occurs), don't be greedy, seek information and figure out its impact on the market including your portfolio, and follow this forum as it will also help you...Thank me later wink grin

http://www.etftrends.com/2016/05/nigeria-etf-surging-on-central-bank-forex-relief/

'' Nigerian markets and country-specific exchange traded fund are surging after the frontier country’s central bank made a policy one-eighty on exchange rates.

The Global X Nigeria Index ETF (NYSArca: NGE) added another 1.2% Friday after surging 9.3% over the past week and jumping above its long-term, 200-day simple moving average. NGE is up 25.1% over the past three months and 4.5% higher year-to-date.

Nigerian equities strengthened over the past few sessions after the central bank on Tuesday said it would adopt a flexible exchange rate policy, ending currency controls that fettered the equity market, Reuters reported.

The Nigerian naira currency was overvalued due to a pegged regime, which weighed on growth and investment. Foreign investors saw a devaluation as inevitable and previously kept to the sidelines or have been selling shares. ''
