It borders me when I see and hear the type of salaries employers offer job seekers in recent times. In view of this, a friend was offered a salary of 50k monthly for a job offer as a B.Sc holder with working experience when his overheads(T.P and feeding ) will run into 36k monthly. Would you advise he takes the offers or seek for a better pay job elsewhere. Urgent advise is needed Pls.

He should accept it if the said job offer fits into his field. Then use it to gather experience while still searching for other better opportunities. The Lord is with him.

To the OP and all nairaland jobseekers:
please don't let us be carried away with our certificate, it's best to start somewhere than staying idle . 50k job is ok , at least with the state of things in the Labour market.

i pray God will give us the Job we desire.

Apply the principle of putting ur hand on a prepared food while looking at the farm. Take the job and still be searching. You may never know the importance of N1000 until you stay a month+ with no credit alert. Then the little N10 SMS fee that your bank collects will annoy you like they took N10,000.
I receive less, but my story will change in a matter of weeks.

Hmmmm....... If the job is within ur career line, I advise u take it just for d experience and don't hesitate to continue looking for job while on the job. Also u never can tell if some petty allowances like petty cash within a month can swallow that salary twice. I saw an old friend last week and he told me where he works, even if they send u across the street it's 5k u write in petty cash voucher, and he said he was once sent 3 times in a day just to go within the same area. So imagine something like that.

.
He deviced a strategy of wealth accumulation while I was busy wandering and wallowing in self pity....
.

I started with 12k per month in 2007 with my HND, BSc and M.Sc, I got something better in 2009 (35k), another one in 2010 (60k) and my present job with a Federal Polytechnic in 2011. Today I'm paid over 150k per month, l started so small but l must tell you that l got all new jobs through the old one. It was the mother of a child l taught in a private secondary school that linked me with the Federal Polytechnic job in 2011, starting with 50k may be small but its better than nothing and it can become a stepping stone if you work hard, pray well and hope for a positive change, cheers!

Yes,

Many start-ups started with nothing, so why should anyone be scared of starting small? Most of these businesses began with zero capital.

Looks like some people don't yet understand the concept of accepting a job offer. Believe me, no matter how jobless you are, there are some jobs you shouldn't just accept even if the pay is a million naira per day...reason being that the job at the long run may leave you worse than it met you. If former Governor of Bayelsa State(Alameseigha) had not accepted the job of governing his people back then, he probably would have been alive and enjoying life today. As the age long adage goes "not all that glitters is gold".
