Even though he is guilt but evidence against him is grossly insufficient to prove the case. I listened to d audio evidence n noticed he didn't force nor threaten d girl after refusing him sex. Even d girl kept asking him sir are u annoyed in d bid to make him threaten her but d lecturer didn't ( a pointer dt this could b a set up). D lecturer low point ws wen he said u r nt d only one so dnt feel special which shows he has been in d game but seeks consent.

An average lawyer can win this case for him n make d unilorin reinstate him n pay him his salaries up to date while d legal battle lasts

Your comment is really disappointing. It's an abuse of his position to sleep with a student most especially his student. He has the power to pass/fail her and using sexual gratification as a tool is wrong. It's unimportant to me if the girl seduced him or not....you must be above board in your dealings. And we're not talking about politicians here. I wonder why people are cool with teachers fraternizing with students in this part of the world. So tell me, how do we address the conflict of interest that may arise from teacher-student amoral relationship. The issue isn't about rape or harassment, it is about the unethical practice of professors in Nigeria having an affair with their students. Many times though, they coerce their victims into submission, and that's flat out harassment.

I know a professor in US who an affair 5 years prior, with a girl before she became his student. He walked up to the Chair (HOD in Nigeria) to say he cannot trust himself to be fair, so he wants another class.

Comments like this tells me Nigeria is almost beyond redemption. There's no way he's winning that case with the university board or anywhere else. Fraternizing with a student is an offense and he played along. It would have helped if he said he played along intentionally but he said it was a set up.
Leave the girl alone. People like you are the reason rape victims don't always want to come out. Thank you. I'm also an alumni of UniIlorin. In fact I finished from that department. Any sane person will know that even if indeed it were a set up, he actually committed the crime. Did anyone borrow his voice? Did he not negotiate sex with the said lady? He was carefully but surely being led to the slaughter table and dumbly, he followed. He must have been doing it for long and it's time up!

Many lecturers in our tertiary institutions are Randy. I speak from experience, I gained admission while I was in my teens, I looked younger than my age. Do you know one of the lecturers told me I looked 14, and as innocent as I looked, he still wanted to sleep with me. He pestered but I had strong resilience too.
