this is st Charles Christian school not Muslim school, please if d issue has risen to enforcing religion on people it should be checked.the Muslims student should go to their various schools been created by their clerics.let them Carry their hijab to Muslim schools. wearing should be banned in all d government schools cos' osun state schools are secular schools not religious school.
I can't remember any school in the US owned by a Muslim or Islamic group but the Muslim students puts on hijab though am against the act of storming the school premises, just as the principal said they should wait till the Ministry of Education give directives then if the school now prevent the students then they can challenge the Principal but u saying they can't use hijab in the school is wrong because the last time I checked its the state govt that are paying the school teachers not CAN or any Christian body..

I beg to disagree. The school is NOT a christian school. It might have been established by Christians as a christian school, but it stopped being a christian school the day it was taken over by the State. It is now a GOVERNMENT school where all students of different faith can attend and have their faith respected. For a school to be a christian school, it must be owned and run 100% by Christians or a Christian group without government input other than in a supervisory role. In view of this, these girls should be allowed to wear their hijab if they so desire. I own and run a christian school and I have muslim pupils in my school. If any of the parents should apply to have the daughter wear a hijab on top of the school wisdom, I will allow it. It does not in any way offend me. This is just a personal opinion. If you do not agree, I will respect your views.

Christians, Muslim pagans etc pay tax on which the school are operated

If you want to Balance the equation
Muslim use hijab, Christian wear garment, pagans go to school in their full regalia

Simple if not

Neutrality should be maintained

I don't know on whose claim you are on but either way if they don't want to be bias why do they have have to take to the streets just after the Christians and the atheists started dressing equivalently, what's pricking them..... this issue of hijab thing to some extent is just an individual decision at most times at least I could remember a school that hijab was brought into the picture all because the current principal happens to be a muslim and the school has been existing for up to 30years without such an issue surfacing, it is obvious that there is an islamization agenda going on and we don't have to act naive to this show of shame

1. They did not "take" to the streets, and it was not in response to Christians and atheists reaction. Check the post's heading, it clearly states that they went to a particular whose principal claimed to be unaware of a court ruling granting the muslim girls right to wear hijab. You make it seem as if they took placards and what not and paraded the streets. You need not sensationalize stories to make your point.

2. The hijab being worn in schools does not cover/hide/camouflage the school uniform. It on covers the head, neck and upper bossom regions. It is just like a head covering like the beret and hats used by some schools. The uniforms are still intact from the chest region down, unlike the pics we saw of 'christian' students who wore complete robes over the school uniforms. It was laughable to say the least.

3. If you agree that wearing of hijab is a personal thing, why are you getting your knickers twisted over it? Does it threaten you? Someone posted a picture of U.S. President Barack Obama talking cheerfully with a little girl in hijab in a US school, he doesn't seem to be threatened. Also, I posted a picture of Michelle Obama at a school in the UK, where a good number of the girls wore hijab, and she doesn't seem to be threatened either.

4. A popular adage says "people are afraid of what they don't understand". I think Christians need to seek better understanding of Islam so that the fears that some selfish leaders have fed them with may be dispelled.

Peace.

Since u accept they pay tax case close because they have every right to enjoy their human right and if anybody or organization feel threatened they should take it up with the govt,
Sometimes it hurt coz many people doesn't know what Muslims passed through in the hands of Christian some decades ago because of education.

there's this popular adage that when u are in Rome u behave like a Roman, in the north where there is dominance of the islamic religion, don't they use hijabs and get away with it? to some extent, even Christians over there compelled to wear hijab and in some cases risk their lives, now this is a totally neutral society, so why must the hijab be "enforced" if it is inconveniencing the others, should it still be a must?

To buttress your point, what Akande did was to cut off the number of civil servant in the state.

In the education sector, he enforced a teacher to take more than one subject which I think was a good one.

Civil servants are used to selling/hawking while @ work.

For this present situation, I think the State Governor isn't handling the matter well.

Are those in the picture the "25 Islamic clerics"? Please let's be objective. The photograph and the body of the story do not match. The "Islamic clerics" would be men, probably advanced in age, not some teenage girls. The picture relates to another story, but the writer felt the need to bring in the picture for lack of pictures of the current story.

The true followers of Jesus always dress in Hijab
If Jesus christ himself was a woman, he would certainly dress in hijab, because his mother always dresses in Hijab.
Paul said in the book of Corinthian chapter 11 verse 5 that "Yes, if she refuses to wear a head covering, she should cut off all her hair! But since it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or her head shaved, she should wear a covering."

Chill bro...

The verse before that says
she should cover her HEAD
"WHEN SHE PRAYS OR PROPHESIETH"

Verse 15. Says ... Her hair is given to her as a covering. That means a woman who cuts her hair should cover up when shes praying or ministering...

But for those who have their long hair..it is to them as a covering
God bless.
