The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has released a list of 100 out of a total of 217 “Chronic Debtors” in their books, including firms and individuals, as authorized by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Surprisingly, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, whose assets were seized a few days ago over N11 billion debt, is not on the list.

AMCON on Thursday took over three assets belonging to Silverbird Group in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

They are Silverbird Galleria Limited located at 133 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, Plot No 1161 (Silverbird Galleria); Silverbird Promotions Limited located at Central Area Cadastral Zone AOO, Abuja; and Silverbird Showtime Limited located at Abonnema Wharf Road and Abali Park in Port Harcourt City of Rivers State.

In a statement, AMCON said: “Further to our various publications advising debtors to come and settle their obligations with us, and in line with the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) instructing us to publish the list of 217 chronic debtors.

“We hereby present a list of 100 out of a total of 12,744 obligors on our books, being the first batch of many to be published. The listed debtors are hereby advised to engage us for resolution of their unpaid obligations”

This is where Name Checker Association of Nairaland is needed, not the usual tribe bashing threads.

All the dates of purchase coincide with the time Goodluck Jonathan became the president of Nigeria.

Well, Goodluck Jonathan's destiny was to bankrupt Nigeria!

In reality it's not as though all the business ventured into were not profitable but the iresponsibility of the borrowers in trying to pay or service the loans.

Just imagine. I for get money pass all these people if them leave us on normal hustling ground or if I can even get 1% of those cash. Someone will just borrow 100 of billions. Which collateral or asset did they borrow such with?

Imagine if common man want to borrow 2million naira they will be requesting impossible collateral terms.

Federal Character at play.

When it comes to fleecing the masses, there is no division among the elites -- you are not a Northerner or Southerner, Igbo or Hausa or Yoruba or Ibibio, neither are you Xtian or Muslim.

You are either my brother-in-looting or my brother-in-fleecing-the-stup1d-masses.

These are the people Nigerians should fight tooth and nail to get to pay. We are here playing silly ethnopolitical games while thieves of all tribes triumph by taking BILLIONS of naira.
Mr Ifeanyi Ubah is owing over 100 Billion Naira. That is the IGR of Oyo state for 80 months, or 6.5 years.

Its a shame that people I (used to) respect are on that list. The man that tops that list should be in jail. He is a chronic thief.

All these thing happened from 2010 when Gej became Nigeria President.
No wonder he said he made so many Nigerians Billionaire.
How will economy not collapse with all these debts?

Isn't it an anomaly that 95% of these loans were taken between 31st Dec 2010 (last day of the financial year) and 31st March 2011. Was this a conspiracy?

Make una free Bros J small. He and Sanusi set up AMCON to tackle this menace in the finance sector. Thats the reason why the date of purchase of these bad loans started from 2010.
