As for vaccination follow your vaccination chart programme and i dont have any mortality record yet.. I used cardboard paper for day one to 3 and change to wood shavings till now they at 4weeks old now..and I start them with with top feed super starter for 2 weeks then chick mash so far they are doing just great

I haven't bought them yet. Do they give vaccination chart from the farm one brought them from? If no, please give me yours.

Thanks.

If you are buying day old chicks you will be the one to start the vaccination program yourself, but if you are buying point of lay birds or already brooded birds then you ask for the vaccination program chart from the seller, and please note this, it will be best in your own interest to get your birds from a reliable and a reputable hatchery or farm. Thanks.

Hello thread, I have learned a lot from here, God bless you all, please can any experienced farmer here advise me on what to do about a stubborn NC disease, I av used lasota and komorov and stuck to the vaccination schedule but it keeps coming back and affecting production. Please advice...

Well there are lots of measures to take since you said you are stuck to the vaccination schedule i will advise you practice and all - in and all - out system of production, during dat period of practising all out system of production disinfect your farm properly, wait for sometimes before bringing in new birds then get the next set of birds from a reputable farm. Thanks

Hello everyone .
Been following this blog for a while.special thanks to the pioneers. you guys are awesome..keep the good work going..

I own a little poultry in my house, which I just started three weeks ago.I have succeeded in raring 100 birds for 2weeks plus(_50 layers and 50 cockerels).. Though I lost 18 birds. 14layers and 4 cockerel.. I m plannig on expanding the so called little poultry..so my questions are as follow
a) what breed of birds should I get
B) what are the likely causes of their death(pics bellow)
C) how often do layers lay..

Thanks in advance

How do I go about making my orders for the POL, is it cash and carry or what, how much should I be expecting to get it per unit and could I get a discount for purchasing 1000 birds.
At the moment I'm already making all necessary arrangement for the pen I'm renting, also trying to see where I could get a good locally fabricated cage at a good offer for the 1000 POL, any advice in these regards is highly welcome.

Please how can I identify a good specie of a day old broiler? Lantern and charcoal stove, which one is better(cost and heat wise) for providing heat for DOC?
I have a cage measurement of 7feet length, 2. 4feet width, 3steps. Please how many broilers can it comfortably contain (considering when they grow up)?
Please who can help me answer these questions? Please somebody should help me. Thank you!

If you wana rise them to 8 weeks above pls don't get more than 20 broilers and 2 lanterns is enough for brooding tho you will have to reduce heat as they grow also put bulb or rechargeable lamps there so they can eat over night..

Then get one for yourself now afterall am not forcing you to pay me and if feed formula is easy to comeby you won't be here looking for broiler finisher formula. I don't need to convince you because people who know the value of feed formula won't complain about paying to get it.

. It a normal for itnto happen. Just knw they will be reduction of feed consumption n water consumption. I will say give vitamin also. I debeaked at a 1week old. N it happened to me also. Just monitor them.

@Mykeolinks:

Are you actually serious, to come get your used cage that contains 360 birds per unit for 170k while I've seen where to make new ones containing 72 birds per unit at 40k, therefore for 1000 birds would be 14 cages at 560k which is still ok considering its new.
If you're asking for a reasonable price after calculating depreciation value let me know.....pm me at blessed.ajagunna@gmail.com, your location, why you're selling them and attached pictures.

hello and God bless all farmers in the house. I have a serious issue in my farm after stocking 1000 layers and they have been laying now for six months, i came to realise the benefits of using battery cages instead of deep litter through experience. Now i want to go for cages. my question is what will be the dimension of the pen to accommodate 2000 birds in a battery cage? how many rows will be needed? please help me with details about the housing.
thank you.

I do not have the problem you do cos I don't have birds yet... The estimate I was given was

100 bags of cement
2 trailer load of 30 tonne sharp sand or stone dust
1 trailer lost of 3/4down granite and labour cost of 160k...

That's all...will send the pics before(hopefully) and after(certainly)
