Manchester United have moved a step closer to making Paul Pogba the first £100million footballer by telling his club Juventus they will pay a world-record transfer fee for the 23-year-old French superstar.

Four years after losing Pogba for nothing, United are prepared to break the bank to back their new manager Jose Mourinho, who will be unveiled in front of the world's media on Tuesday.

Juventus have demanded a nine-figure sum for their talisman which has scared off United's rivals Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City.
But the Old Trafford club – who are less affected by financial fairplay rules because of their huge commercial revenues – are prepared to pay a price that will smash the £86m paid by Real Madrid for Gareth Bale in 2013, and hand Pogba £250,000 a week.

Pogba's father has stated that his son wants to play in a 'better league' than Serie A and agent Mino Raiola, who also represents Ibrahimovic, is trying to negotiate a deal.

Fassou Antoine Pogba is quoted as saying by AS: “What we want is that he plays in a better League, he’ll decide which team he’s going to play for.”

His agent Mino Raiola said: "Paul has to grow. He's at Juve now, so any transfer must be run past Juventus."

Hey chillax...while the money being touted for Pogba is crazy and i believe no body would pay that for him...i also believe a tournament like the Euros can and should never be used to judge a players capabilities, mostly when the player has established himself over some seasons. Some people may not figure in a major tournament but go on to become a sensation in their league so dont underate the dude because he hasn't done anything spectacular in the Euro's. Moreover france is still in it.

Pogba is not and will never be worth 100m pounds. Unless he comes and start scoring at a Cronaldo/Messi rate paying more than 60m pounds for any midfielder is daylight robbery.

I like Schneiderlin. But that boy should hone his skills to becoming a DM. I feel he is better there than as a box-to-box CM. He just doesn't have enough in his repertoire to play that role.
