You're responsible for your own navigation aka you're on ur own, till u commit, then they now blast you over the radio
Own navigation to them is only horizontal movement and not vertical. I added 2000 feet to my initial assigned attitude immediately I heard "own course"

That's why we called it set up .
What if by adding 2000 feet you violate the vertical separation minima? That's not safe.

I'd rather stay on my assigned flight level till ATC grants clearance

Then the question again on ''own navigation'' huh

My flight plan was 12,000 feet but the ATC gave me climb and maintain 4000 feet, later, he said resume own navigation huh

Boeing777pilot is right, resume own navigation doesn't mean you should start bursting airspace.
Also, was it a VFR or IFR flight?
Was it a VFR flight and you decided to do James Bond and fly into the clouds? grin
Did u have a flight plan you were deviating from?

Hahahaha, congratulations brother.
Thank God you made it.
Thanks brother. It felt like hypoxia but I was just on 2000ft it couldn't be. My hands were cold and I felt so sick. The only times I felt okay was when I get to balance the plane. The instructor would roll and ask me to balance out. Looking at the horizon he wouldn't let me look at the instrument to see if I'm pitching up or down

He asked if I was tired then I told him it's just my stomach that feels somehow (I was fasting so I don't know if it's worse because of the empty stomach). So after few minutes we landed. Today during class I told him again he said it will get better with time (tomorrow is the last day of Ramadan) so I'll see how it goes.
All the best

LR is Long range, ER is extended range. I think the long range can travel a farther distance than the ER.

. Extended range can travel further than long range.
Re: Ask A Pilot... by Boeing777pilot(op): 7:33pm On Jul 06, 2016
LR - Long Range
ER - Extended Range

LR has longer range, that's why I'm going to miss it.

It means shorter flights for me now.

The B777-200LR actually holds the world record for longest non stop flight. It can stay up to 19hours airborne.

B777-300ER around 12 hours cry

It's going fine. Just that the weather is bad most of the time. Strong wind and all, so I flew once which was 1hr 20mins. I'm Studying principles of flight and human performance and limitation for now.

No sir, it's for the Auxiliary Power Unit that helps provide power to the aircraft while it on ground.
It's not only used on the ground, it's used in flight occasionally in any phases of flight (ascent, cruise and descent).

Absolutely, Captain.

You can use APU on ascent when you need maximum thrust for takeoff, place the cabin air pressure on APU and leave the main engines to provide full thrust. Same scenario for cruise and descent (you need to have a discussion on this in case of a go around when you might need full thrust.

Now, this is not common and is dependent on the type and of course the company.

Nice one.

How long would it take to get a private pilot license?

Certified for the cirrus sr22 specifically
