Hi everyone

I'm a first time mum, yet to go for my interview and I'm really showing. I've contacted doctores para ti and MIHS, MIHS said they only now attend to residents. Please are there other cheap hospitals on the range of the one in El Paso as I really want to make a good choice. Thanks

congrats.
Lemme not be the spoiler, but do mothers still go that far to El-paso anymore.
or u have any specific reasons for wanting to go there?
if you say cheap, i wonder how much you have in mind. if you give an estimated budget here of what u want to spend on medical and housing, am sure some mothers here can help you find a reasonable hospital and/or accommodation. Some ppl can share a 2 bedroom and u split the bill equally.

I think its possible but why not just do it say tmr or even today at dallas and pay to have them mail it to Houston for you?
maybe some others here have a second opinion

They are still in the NICU but coming out soon. Maybe I would do it that way but want to know if I can do it in Houston

Yes, you can. All they need is the birth cert and completed application. You will need to call and book appointment if goin to the passport agency.

Your babies are victors already and dey will continue to conquer their world.

Its sad that a forum created to help people is being dominated by 'Gurus' who where previ to good info and made the right choices but unfortunately are so judgmental about people who post sincere questions and are seeking solutions because they were advised wrongly!

my advice to y'all quoted here, PLEASE, if you don't have anything solution to questions like this or any words that lead to solutions...don't comment on it, its not meant for you!

Every one can comment. if you dont like it, you can simply ignore or you rephrase the question and ask again. if they disagree with you doesnt make them right. after all not all questions get the right answer. so dont take it hard on anyone. My opinion.

Ok maybe i am dreaming but i guess i should post this and hear what y'all will say.
My bill with dr F so far: 1920 for dr fee (got 20% discount) 150 for ultrasound, 260 for test and 150 for first visit.
Paid oakbend but he doesnt want me to use oakbend but accepted when i asked him to refund me.

Yesterday was my appointment (not satisfied with my checkup cos its not thorough eg my first ultrasound was about d heartbeat, weight and if d baby was head down. Second to the 4th visit has been just heartbeat and always leaving the room too fast)

So he told me how a woman was given epidural at 34weeks and she is still pregnant. That they have unqualified nurses. I asked him if i can use St Luke he said its full that i sud get my refund and wait for labour to start shocked but he will find out if i can use St luke. So i left to get my refund from Alice. Told Alice (off record) the lady given epidural and all but she said its not possible for anyone to give medications without doctor's approval undecided shocked and she is surprised that he's moving his patients.
I got hold of a Nairalander who saw him on Tuesday and asked her y she hadnt registered with st Luke, saw me on Wednesday and said they r full undecided the lady went today and said approval comes from dr F but they u can still register after calling them to book appointment.

Last week my DH was like i should change my doctor but when i asked for my refund from dr F it was 1830 they were offering to pay back after 3 appointment.

Please lemme know y'all thoughts cos i cant think again cry cry lipsrsealed

@greatie,

Me too have observed he is referring us to st Luke!!.
Went to see him today and he kept repeating st Luke even after I told him that I wanted Houston Methodist!! Am not happy with him at all. I did 5 out of those tests and he charged$260 too!. So is that his New lab price?

So wanted to go to Houston Methodist hospital to pay after his appointment and he told me to wait for hm to confirm st Luke? Wat konsan me?

Ohh I heard he has contract with st Luke so that's why. Just like he did with oakbend.

Hello , confuse at what is going on with Dr F, a friend paid for oakbend to use Dr F, when it was time for delivery Dr F sent her to Methodist to one of his doctor's.
Can imagine how one feels being referred to a Doctor you have not met .
Have switched to Dr Dama this evening seeing this post.
Thank you all for this forum .

In the spirit of giving back grin grin grin and scare the crap outta some people, I present my POE experience.

Flew Etihad to Chicago.

Check-in at MMA was swift and nice. I got fast tracked cos of my belle so the whole check-in was less than 5mins. They did not ask for fit to fly at Lagos.
Boarded the aircraft and we were delayed on the ground for 2hours. The cabin crew kept saying they were waiting for paper work but they were two NIS people at the door of the aircraft. Suddenly about 8 very suspicious ISIS looking bearded arabian men boarded the aircraft...To say the flight was uncomfortable would be an understatement grin At a point one naija passenger forming air Marshall had to go warn the guys not to leave their seats anymore.. . just incase they were planning to blow up aircraft ... Anyways, turns out the guys were denied entry into Nigeria and were being deported back to wherever they came from.
Got to Abu dhabi and I was informed I was selected for special screening (as indicated on my boarding pass). Went through abu dhabi immigration, there they checked my fit to fly but my doctor did not indicate if the pregnancy was a singleton or multiple but thank God I had my scan results with me. I was cleared through UAE immigration then I headed for US pre-clearance and was shocked to see so many people cry compared to my last trip. And no fast track sef even with my belle so I had to wait in line for almost 30mins.
CBP: hi
Me: How are you today
CBP: fine, thanks. What's the purpose of this trip today
Me: Child birth and annual vacation
CBP: Do you have any correspondence with a doctor
Me: No direct communication with the doctor, you only get assigned one upon arrival. Hand him my email correspondence with the patient 's services and the price quote. He types on the screen and hands me back the correspondence.
CBP: how much cash do you have on you
Me: eighty three hundred
CBP: place your right four fingers.....

I was already rejoicing the interview was over, but he dials a number and tells me he is sending me to immigration. embarassed
Secondary inspection:
Me: how are you
CBP: hi, what's the purpose of this trip
Me: Child birth and annual vacation
CBP: Do you have any correspondence with a doctor...
Me: Told her same thing I told the first guy
CBP: how much cash do you have..
Me: repeated same. I noticed she was just looking at me so I asked her if she wanted to see it and she said yes. I gave her the envelope and she counts the money. After counting she asked again how much I said it was and I answered. Na wa!
CBP: what cards do you have with you, I showed her my BOA card and she asks, oh you have a BOA account?
Me: Yea i do.
CBP: how much is on the card
Me: I hand her my account statement I printed out.
CBP: Do you not have any form of prove to show your communication with the hospital
Me: Yes I do and I hand her my correspondence and printed out OB delivery package...
CBP: Im going to let you in but be warned that although the hospital offered you this package, it is not their duty to enforce immigration laws. This statement (uninsured and under-insured) here refers to American citizens only and is funded by tax payers money. Please make sure you decline this offer and tell them you want to pay the full undiscounted price and have all your receipts else your visa would be cancelled shocked shocked
Me: ok.
CBP: Do you understand what I said
Me: Yes i do, thank you.

Had to wait an additional 20mins for agriculture...they threw away my ofada sauce cry cry

You can do it in Houston. Note you can't apply without the babies present but you can pick without them. So you have to wait till there are OK .I support the move to Houston where you have someone ( hope they are willing to help) to drive to place and share the burden with. The Lord is your strength. Hold on its almosttttt over
