Hello tzetzefly, just wise and other gurus in the house. I want you to please tell me what is exactly wrong with my application and what to do to avoid this rejections. Today I just got my processed application from vsf France, and to my disappointment i was denied a France tourist visa. My intention is to go and return back as I just want to build a travel history to enable me reapply for US visit visa on December, after my first US denial, I have been to Dubai and Ghana. This is the documents I submitted and as well as my profile:
Married
Sales supervisor
31 years old
I have a one year old kid
Have been working for 6 years now
Have up to 1.7m + in my salary account
3 months salary pay slip.
Have a monthly income of #145k
I have 2 plots of land though yet to complete the payment valued at #3m so no C OF O only temporal receipt issued , I intend to complete the purchase once i return from Europe by October ending. But I didn't submit this temporal receipt
I Intended to stay for just 9 days.
Medical insurance
Flight reservation
Hotel reservation clearly showing 9 nights
Introduction letter from my employer
Leave letter
Marriage certificate
My child's NPC birth certificate
Copy of my work ID card
Bank stament for 3 months showing my stated income in the introduction letter
Application form and other requirements
My passport and other travel stamps.

Please what's wrong with my application with the rejection stamp on my passport now. the Dubai stamp and other African countries stamp, do I stand a chance to secure a US tourist visa by December if I don't go to any European country Please advice me on what to do , I'm nearly at the point of frustration, is there any European country or any other country i can apply for a visa to better my chances ??
Or do I just reapply at US embassy with just the Dubai and Ghana trip because the guy who interviewed me at US embassy Abuja on June told me the reason for my denial is lack of travel history.

Please help me just wise, favor gal , tzetzefly fly and the good people of nairaland.
God bless you.

In addition to the information i provided above i just checked my passport properly and saw that the France embassy didn't stamp the refusal stamp on my passport, I'm happy for that in a way then the refusal form they have to me indicating the reasons for the rejection bears only my surname on it the the other and first name is someone else's name , please what does that mean

The France embassy in Nigeria can be a bit difficult when it comes to issuance of visas to some applicants, but it doesnt mean they are not efficient.

The need to make your itinerary as concise and unambiguos as possible, is very necessary as any doubt noticed, can break your application.

Travel experience is encouraged for those applying for vacations and it is highly important to have an itemised day by day activty, costs, as well as stipulated time for all your events during your intended vacation.

This can go a long way to help you get organised and assist the ECO in getting an objective assessment on your case.

The presumed average spending cost per day per person in the Schengen area is between €35 - €57.

This calculation can help you plan a budget for your trip with accomodation and flights already sorted out...

Hello everyone,

I need your candid opinion on a burning issue which has been troubling me for some time now. I am really ashamed and remorseful of my actions, it was just the situation I found myself. I was once a footballer and once had an opportunity to travel to Europe for my footballing career but this did not work out as planned. I got a passport for this purpose where I did not use my real age, as advised by my coach and agent. I later dropped football and went back to school. Now I am done with my first degree and I intend going abroad for my masters degree. The old passport with my false age expired and I proceeded to the NIS office where I met an Immigration officer who assisted me and got me another passport after I did the Biometrics. I actually paid him 100k for this. I really don't know if it was renewal or re-issue he did but this new passport has my real age and name which tally with my academic documents. The new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page. Now my question is, with the old number available on the passport, will the embassy verify and compare the information on the new and old passports?

Thanks for your useful contributions.

Hello house;
Please I just want to ask if anybody has recently got his/her tourist visa to France within the stipulated 15 working days processing time .
I submitted my appilication at the VFS office in Lagos on 29th June stating 5th August as my proposed travel date.
I am now a bit worried that the dates are too close as the consulate will be having a total of 6 days public holiday in the month of July as stated in their website.
Any reassurance/opinion will be appreciated please.
Thank you.

No big deal. You can go with the form n submit immediately after the interview. For likely questions just know about France political system n educational system. Know about the city you are going to. Then your motivation for choosing France n choosing the course.

I think it takes France Embassy morethan a month to treat applications nowadays. My first application which was last year April took a month and 16 days before i got it. Last month I submitted for renewal and it's was after a month i got a call from the embassy asking me bring additional document. I wonder how long it's going to take before my application is out. I just thank God my travel date is 28th of April. So my advice is you always submit at least 2 months before your travel date

@yusfaith78;
Thanks for the enlightenment .
But please is there any damage control action I can take now; e.g. sending a mail to the embassy notifying them of a change of travel date and backed up with necessary documents documents?
Anybody with a suggestion on what to do please?
Thank you all.

Good Evening,

Congratulations to start with. It will be a good idea if you can share your experience so others can learn.

Do you plan to settle in France afterwards. According to French immigration rules, you can be due for French citizenship after completing a 2 year masters degree and working for a further 2 years.

Contact me if you require any further help with settling down to your studies or information regarding settling down.

All the best.
