We use our phones for many stuffs, if the Bible is the only App installed in it then no problem but using Ur phone to read the bible is a big distraction especially for those that can't do with out pressing their phones each minute. Unless you are really disciplined if not forget it

There is nothing wrong with that, it is the word u are reading not the tab or phone, and besides pastors can easily have access to various translations, unlike moving around with 4different bibles

I am tempted to conclude you are an idol worshipper. Your type will place Bible under your pillow and puts your faith in it for protection. Your question reveals who you really are. You may not know it or willingly be doing it, but you're worshipping an object, instead of GOD, and placing faith in it for protection.

I don't like it when people mislead others. e-Bibles are electronic copies of already known translations such as King James, New International Version, and so forth. Can you please show me a portion of an e-Bible that is misquoted? I await screenshot.

So paper is not technology? What exactly is wrong with out thought-process?

You are 1,000,000 times correct bro.

To say you are ignorant of the word - God made Bible would be a waste of space!
You're glowing in ignorance.
So, all the Bibles you have been reading are God-made-Bibles? Because you met it when you were born abi?

Please, return your certificates and insist on getting back your tuition fees. You also owe your parents apologies for wastage of money, emotional involvement in trying to make sure they raise a child who could think out of the box....do I even need to go further?

In all, your goof is exacerbating.

It's Morally Okay For Those Micro~Insectically Made Pastors Of Our Time. This Is When There Powers Comes From The Earthly Hand Made Things And Obviously Not From Our Almighty God, Cos They Lack The Knowledge & Power That's Attached To The God Made "Bible"!!! Ignorant Is Obviously The Great Grand Father Of Stupidity.....

You are reading your books!

NaWetinDey:
This is the religiosity in Christianity that needs to be checked.

The word:

It started from thought forms and inspirations.
It went into scrolls (only few read it out to others and then store it back)
It went into few books (only few had right over it, others read bulletins)
It went into more books (big and weighty but anyone could buy)
It went into more books (compressed and light to carry. Religiosity said small Bibles trivialize the gospel)
Then it went in smart devices for fastest search (Religiosity said it's insulting to carry and read Bible from smart devices. However, most part of their lives are in smart devices. Makes me wonder if religiosity really still believes that God lives in church buildings and not in faithfuls wherever they may be.

Oh, religiosity!

They are not just LOST, but also primitive, indoctrinated and hypocritical.

They think MoG is closer to their God than they are.

I see a lot of people here are very myopic in reasoning including d op.
What is wrong with a smart phone? Is it only porn that u people watch on it? Even if that's what u do, its not everybody that does that.
Did god write the first law on a paper book? For pete's sake it was on a tablet of stones. Things then upgraded to animal skins (scrolls) then to paper. Today we have electonic devices that we read books from. What is wrong with that?
Am a free thinker, not a churchy person but I can say 90% of those that claim christianity(especially africans) are lost! They dont know wat dey are even doing.

achieve morehow

You can easily switch to multiple formats of the Bible from one device.
You can create reading points
E-bible affords you the possibility to highlight various scriptures and erase when no longer required
Take notes electronically
Set reminders
Get reminded to read scriputures at predefined periods
E-Bible's can read the Bible out to you(simply put on your headphones and get your scriputures read out
Make I continue?

Good morning and merry Sunday friends...smiley

I don't seem to get a satisfactory answer to these...and I think here might be in a better position to give me the answers I crave for...

in my church,*name undisclosed*the pastor uses a phone to read bible....but I wish to ask if it's morally right for a pastor to use a phone to read bible while preaching...

it maybe ignored if it was being used by a member, but we are talking about a pastor here, who stands by the pulpit to preach the word of God...but instead of the bible,he uses a phone...

O P, just one simple question and if u can answer sincerely, then you have ur answer. Was the first ever words of God writen on paper. The answer is capital No as the world advances we have inscriptions on paper and the holy Bible arrives as we have it over many centuries, now it's time to evolve from paper version to soft version. Ur pastor is on points.

Don't advertise your ignorance like a virtue. The Bible was originally in clays and paperous before the invention of ink.

And with the invention of electronic writing, it is more sensible El and economical to have the Bible in electronic format.

In my phonei have over 15 versions of the Bible in one app..my sword Bible

The ebible will outlast that your records.. . For Christ sake, the ebible is o line and your entry and bookmarks are saved online and can be retrieved with any other device.. I mean it is synced so available in all your devices at the same time.

For instance I take note in the church on word processor and save to Dropbox where my wife and every other person have reading access to it from their devices

The thing is morally wrong because as a pastor; he is not leading by example; do you know that the E-bible mis-quote some words to suit the devil?

The Bible in eformat is same as the print.. what or who gave you this notion.. . King James is king James irrespective of the format.

Phone batteries have become better than that a two hour use on the pulpit won't do any dent to the battery.

A synch E-bible o ky requires a sign in to have access to all your notes, bookmarks and share from any other device including that of other members of the church.. .

Print Bible has no special advantage over the E-bible, in fact it is the reverse

I don't see anything wrong with using a phone or tablet as your Bible. The medium you use is of no importance. What is important there is the undiluted word of God. As long as it has not been tampered with there is no problem. We worry too much over wrong things. Bible was not initially written like as we have it now in paper. The printing innovation came and it was fully made used of and now this (e-bible) is the new innovation. I will say embrace it.
for those holier than thou people, you could go back to carrying scrolls. Since you don't want move with the times

See what nollywood films have caused. cheesy grin This one thinks its the "magic paper" used in making Bibles that drives the devil away. It's the power of God in a person that drives the devil away not some object

as for me,the bible is a holy book...as long as you dont have nasty things on your phone eg porn, circular music, nasty sms or whatsap msg,etc then........but left to me i dont like the bibble on phones thing...when you carry your bible around..it shows you are not ashamed of the gospel ..but bible on the phone is a nono for me(my personal opinion tho)...carry your bible to the church not your phone
Carrying a mobile device with the bible app installed is carrying ur bible to church.

Personally I belive dt cell phones or other devices the bible App is on shudnt be made use of in the church.

But it cn b made use of during evangelism or preaching outside the church be it buses, house fellowships etc.

Imagine an entire congregation reading bible scriptures from their devices in church including the pastor. That will be entirely preposterous angry
Preposterous? It think it will be a beautiful sight.

The Bible? Please what is the bible na? The words in that MAN MADE BOOK are still exactly what you'll in the BIBLE APP. The hard copy book is a technology that was invented to replace a more archaic media. And there's absolutely no reason why it cant be replaced by an even better technology

All i can say is, if it's wrong to read the word off a mobile device, it's equally as wrong to read frm the hard copy book

There is nothing wrong in it my brother... It is only wrong when he forsake the original physical Bible. Let me remind you, Bible was formerly in scrolls before they were transcribed into book cover and were written in inks or carved on rocks. Will u say it was bad that the Bible was transcribed? No . But the scrolls still exist. If you have the scriptures on your phone as an e- version,i don't think anything is bad with that but as Christians,we should still carry our physical Bible aways while phone stands for quick reference.
As Christians, we don't have to have a physical book on our hands. Its totally optional. 100% optional.

Can you use phone or tablet to fight demon when it comes to spiritual aspect of it?.
You sound like a very weak christian. You need to study up on the word of God brother. Nigerian movies do a really good job of passing very wrong info. Who says that waving ur physical bible like a sword will send demons away? Brother, the word of God that u know is what protects you. Its not the letters that are painted into a book like every other book. A hard copy bible u don't study is as good as an old novel lying down in ur bookshelf. The novel might be better cuz it has a catchy cover page.
