I will advice you to search for some schools that accept low GPA of 2.5 or 2.6 then prepare well for toefl and have atlease 300 and above. Believe me ur gpa is not that bad. If evaluated, it will possibly move up. So remove that impression that your chances are slim. Check these schools:
1. Cal state university, L.A
2. Cal state university, East Bay
3. Cal state university, Dominquez hills
4. University of Texas, El Paso
5. University of South Alabama
6. West Texas A&M
7. South East Missouri State University.
These schools accept GPA of 2.5, 2.7 depending on ur course. Write or call the graduate coordinator in the department and get a few information. Also check the requirements.
Hope it helps. Don't lose hope my brother, your GPA is not as bad as u think
But i must emphasize, WRITE GRE !!!! cos it will really help, even when it comes to funding.
All the best to you.

I have been doing the search though. I am planning to get myself together before fall 2018 cos that's when i intend to apply. I have laid my hands on couple of GRE books ( thanks to akin2016 God bless you BIG). I'm aiming an high score to put my hope in sight..Thank you Egbon for your advice...#God bless

Visa approved 6:30 am yesterday at the Lagos consulate by that tough guy in window 6. Those present there would have noticed I was the first person he approved that morning ( lady on lemon coloured blazers and black skirt) after denying the first 3 people he attended to. He was just dashing out denials like its his wedding invitation, while the female VO beside him was very lenient. I give God all the glory. Transcript loading.

You know, when you have the Lord by you, no need to shake. I woke by 4 today angry. Had 7:30 interview.we left by 5:30 and funny enough I didn't even think of the interview. I was admiring the island and the ocean and all. Even when we queued I was absorbed in my surroundings. Didn't think of the interview much.
I was on heels and from the whole queue and queue and all I was exhausted and vexed. I think the vexation added more confidence to me. Plus I kept singing the song "your grace is enough for me". (Ladies biko dun wear heel to your interview o)
Moving on....
The person that was interviewed before me in window 6 was rejected.

Congrats dear, same window I was interviewed in, I saw only one lady on heels, smallish in stature guessing she was u, but u tried o, with all those security checking and long standing.

Btw we did not see your transcript

Actually the enquiry was for my elder bro. He had his interview in Abj on 27th of june, below is his transcript;

My bro: goodmorning sir
VO: goodmorning, let me have your doc
VO: you r going to Eastern Illinois Uni to study geographic Info Sci and Carthography?
My bro: yes sir
VO: Eastern Illinois! Why Eastern Illinois?
My bro: because of how the course is offered there, it is offered as professional sci masters with infusion of GIS and Carthography (his explanation was better than this)
VO: carthography! What is this carthography?
My bro: he answered
VO: you r working with the oil company?
My bro: yes
VO: how is GIS applied to the petroleum industry?
My bro: he answered
VO: so who is paying? The firm?
My bro: no I am paying, I have worked for 8yrs, so I saved enough money for this trip.
VO: yea, I got that. ( started looking at gia computer, scrolling up and down)
VO: ok ok everything is cool. (started typing endlessly after he paused)
VO: Now listen, this is your I-20, it is very important just as your passport, it will be required at the POE. And make sure you don't travel before 16th of July and not later than 17th of August. Your visa will be ready for pickup in 3days time. Have a safe trip to America.
My bro: thank you.
