I repeat, the SUG is totally and completely inept.

The protest was not organised by them, rather, they only joined the protest by NANS.

Bros, aren't they protesting along? We are talking of ongoing event, you're talking of SUG.

See more pictures as they turn Ganaja junction into Inter Faculty Whot Playing Ground. Its only the Governor that is needed.

instead if sleeping and playing cards on the road, you should do something that will send a stronger and better message. You can pick your books though.

I want to believe that you're Emmanuel Promise, if yes, you're one journalist that I respect so much and I equally believe that you should know better the reason for my statement above.

For long, KSU students have agitated for a peaceful demonstration of this kind but what did we get? Nothing!

At a point, the President released a statement on his FB page challenging students who wanted a protest to start from their various departmental lecturers who request for slotting and sexually harass female students among others vices. Imagine such statement from a union President.

I commend their effort at mobilising students for this joint protest but I don't think the credit should go to them. I'll appreciate if you can include NANS in the thread title.

PS: If this thread doesn't make front page, it will be in history that NL denied and left us when we needed it most.

PS: May Sango strike anyone in advance that will come here to say the strike is ethically or politically motivated.

I understand your position, you're not far from the truth. I couldn't get NANs and SUG-KSU all up at the Headline. If you noticed, NANs was represented in the hook.

I have left my work just to attend to this protest, amidst losses and enormous pains from their past irresponsibility. But we are in the now, let's get the gaols first before correcting each other.

Keep up the struggle. Send me a mail after today please.

I have been on Nairaland for more than 5 years, this singular act is shocking. The negligence for educational struggle is appalling.

We will trend them on twitter soon for this injustice.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police and SSG to the state government arrived the scene and were chased out by students. The demand is for only Governor Yahaya Bello.

We will not take it the gov has met 95% of PAAU ASUU demands and the greedy and pot belly lecturers still refused to call off cos 90% of the lecturers are from igala speaking part just channeled to frustrate the minority gov: last year heard you people were on strike for up to seven months under an igala gov no strike was embark upon and the gov just met 50% of ksu ASUU demand the strike was called off. Our country will not grow if something like this continue!!! Quote me and speak nonsense " the thunder that will fire you will be like doctor's prescription!!!

Let me educate you since Sango will do the striking on my behalf.

First, what's the tribe of the ASUU-KSU chapter chairman? Igala abi?

If you believe that the strike is ethnically motivated, then, tell the Ebira lecturers to go back to classroom, it's not by force to be part of ASUU. The right of freedom of association is provided by the 1999 constitution as amended.

The government has meant 95% of ASUU's demands? Really? Shey na you do the calculation?

Was it not during an Igala man government that ASUU went on strike last year? All the previous strikes embarked upon by ASUU which tribe was in power?

Please, get educated!

Before thunder strike you let me answer your questions one by follow!!!
The gov of this dispensation met 95% of ksu ASUU demand by paying 4 months out of 5 mouths salary and other entitlements not owned by him.
Ksu ASUU went on strike last year under the administration of wada an igala speaking gov and the students didn't go on protest and he only managed to fulfill just 50% of their demand paying just half month salary and the strike was called off.
Ebira lecturers can not continue lecture cos they represent just 5% of the lecturers work force.

Darling, it appears that you've lost touch with reality, please get your facts right before posting and showcasing your ignorance to the whole world.

The government came out to say they have been enable to meet just 80% of the lecturers demands minus their academic earned allowances and rather than employing a diplomatic approach, the governor and government have chosen to opt in for threat. Please, where did you get your 95% statistics from?

Did you actually say the salaries are not owned by him? Maybe you're right, the salaries are owned by Kogi state government and the last time I checked, he runs the government. If he can inherit votes of an Igala man, then, he should equally be ready to inherit debts of another Igala.

You see why you should get your facts straight? You missed it again by saying students didn't protest last year when ASUU went on strike during Wada's era. A massive protest was held in Anyigba which directly or indirectly led to the calling off the two months old strike then. I'll post pictures of the strike if I can lay my hands on any.

Again, I wonder where you're just generating these figures from. Seriously, I wonder! Who says Ebira lecturers can't lecture because of their relatively low population? Like I previously said, it's not a must to be part of ASUU. If an Ebira lecturer who isn't part of ASUU calls for lecture, I'll surely attend. Sadly, however, it can't happen because they are equally affected by the non-payment of salaries and other legal entitlements.

Lastly, if you claim Ebira lecturers account for 5% percentage of the lecturer-force, I'll appreciate if you can equally provide us with the percentage of other tribes in the state and those outside the state.

You are seriously not ok upstairs. KSU is still KSU and noy PAAU. Secondly, are implying that all lecturers in KSU are Igalas What is the 90% of the demands that have been met? At least three months salaries were wad owed before the strike commenced, three months is still owed as i type, where is the change? Are you aware that the strike was declared by ASUU national chapter and not KSU? Is ASUU national also tribalistic?? Lecturers are still owed their earned academic allowance, has the governor paid All these with over 30 billion naira in the coffers of the state. Wake up Ebira girl. I assume dat is ur tribe.
