Come to wuse zone 7/ zone 2 and see flat to let on almost all building. D fact is that our economy is in trouble, just make sure u put your money on something yielding and be careful not to loose it.

Fantastic Argument , both guys have strong points sha . Unfortunately , over 60% of investor's in 9ja don't even know or look at the real rate of return but often look at the nominal returns and forget about their purchase power. But no matter the inflation rate don't leave ur cash in your savings account like that . Try investment it . Investors should just try to buy investment products with returns that are equal to or greater than inflation and also protect your purchasing power and investment returns by investing in a numbers of Treasury inflation products that are secure and protected.

The Treasury department of Rosabon Financial Services offers all that, Treasury Products that are immune to inflation risks and backup with securities of investment. check out my signature to contact me if ur interested

NA wa o! I no know say economists full here! grin

very enlightening I must say. But I can surely see the merits in Tritri points. However tantalizing the roi may seem, you have to consider the inflation rate. Double digit rate like ours would easily make nonsense of whatever gains are made.

On the other hand, what other options do highly risk averse individuals like me have? Its TB or nothing. cry

Exact question on my mind while the debate was going on. whats d way forward? peeps like me with our small capital, what other options do we have?

Quick silly recommendation: lets register a company on behalf of this group, with all our names as owners n partners with our sharing formula......put all d capital together, debate what to invest in with higher interest rate.........etc

Current Imflation hit 16.5...What is the implicatiom on the NTB rate as we all expect this week?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by slimtriggaman: 7:22am On Jul 20, 2016
Rise in interest rates and more lending to cushion the effect

Not necessarily. The focus is no longer inflation- it is growth/staving off a prolonged recession. Growth with inflation is better than no growth and high inflation(stagflation) which is what we're experiencing. If the rates rise further, there will be less lending to the real sector and less spending as people and banks will move money to Tbs thus avoiding lending and consumer spending. CBN may not want this.

I think *scratches head*.

TB Stop Rates
91 Days- 14.14%
182 Days- 15.485%
365 Days- 16.48%

I guess I was wrong grin shocked
