no they will not ask you for that. The best and assured way to get a Mexican visa now as a tourist is to have at hand a notarized letter of invitation from a Mexican citizen.Nigerians have been bombarding the Mexican embassy in Maitama recently for visas and almost all are being denied. No thanks to Buhari economy!

Thanks,

also while filling the form online, there was a space to fill mothers maiden name, I filled it.

Now my confirmation is showing my mothers maiden name as part of my name and It seems bad to me.

I can't see where to edit or cancel the appointment.

Please advise.

don't worry about that. Mexicans do have two surnames, that of their father and mother. The immigration understands. It is just an appointment. Any other processing henceforth will be done with the information on your paasport

Benito Juarez international airport, Mexico City.Take your time to google about Mexico beforehand and learn a little Spanish to at least say greetings to the V.O

Hello my people, Please I need advice on this:

I'm a Nigerian but my girl friend is a Mexican. Now we are planning to get married. Which mean I have to travel to Mexico.

my questions are:

What type of visa do I need.?
Do I need an invitation letter from her?
Do I need "proof of economic solvency"(statement of account) if she's sponsoring the travel.?

Thanks.

you should apply for a tourist visa. Mexico issues 6 months tourist visa. Your girlfriend should send you a notarized invitation letter together with her 3 months statement of account if she will be sponsoring the travel. Albeit, your chances of getting the visa would be so slim if at your age, a woman you have never met is sponsoring your travel..Thats likely gonna sound childish and unserious to the V.O. my opinion though

Pray hard bro. Getting a Mexican visa is easier than entering Mexico. Try to have all or some of these things listed below to avoid problems at the port of entry;

a. get a letter of invitation.

b. Have the phone number of any Mexican citizen or legal resident who speaks spanish. He should be willing to keep his phone by his side on your arrival day.

c. Book and Pay for a hotel accomodation before coming. If you are gonna spend 100 days in Mexico, Book and PAY for a hotel room for those 100 days.

d. Make sure the hotel customer service phone number is open 24 hours and their agents available to pick their calls as the immigration officer will always want to call to confirm. Avoid cheap hotels.

e. Have a reasonable amount of PTO. That PTO is $1,000 minimum does not mean, you should have $1,000. Try to have a little bit more.

f. Dont talk too much. Those guys at the airport do not understand english talk more of your Nigerian accent english. They would just be nodding their heads but at the end of the day they will do what is logical to them. Sad! Just say what you need to say and lett your Spanish speaking host do the rest of the talking.

g. Never tell the immigration officer that you will be staying for more than 7 days in Mexico no matter what. That would automatically land you in the next Aeromexico flight to brazil and subsequently MMIA Lagos.

h. Just have a bag with your clothes. I know it might be tempting to come over with lots of nigerian food but resist it. The sight of weird food, the strong 'repugnant' smell, a nigerian, and transiting through Brazil! Do the Math.

These are all i can remember for now and please do remember that this is just my opinion. Safe trip bro!

Please am going to mexico for a conference November 16th. How long does it take for a transit visa to come out? How much is flight ticket cheap one? Or which route is better without transit?

I wonder if Mexico is a proverbial greener pasture too. If it is, why are so many Mexicans crossing on foot Mexican/US land border into the US just for the sake of wanting to do menial jobs in the US?

While some people are running away from inside "fire" that they grew up in, some people are fighting hard just to run into it undecided

I was at the embassy yesterday. Parked my car in front of NNPC very close to the embassy while my wife waited inside the car. Went in and they were like I needed to take my fingerprint and sign. I did all that. The Nigerian lady who spoke French and English (because the embassy also serve Cameroonians) only took my bank statement and application form.

I was told to sit down and the Mexican man who looked really really bored came and told me to come to the other room which looks more like a conference center for an interview. He asked me questions about my past travels etc and asked why my wife isn't applying. I showed him her passport because she's an EU citizen. The interview didn't last more than 4 mins, he then told me to give the Nigerian lady my passport. The lady already know I've been issued a visa then gave me a teller to go pay 11,500 at UBA and also told me to return at 4:30PM. I returned and got my passport with the sticker.

Note- Before you go to the embassy make sure you have travel experience. He kept looking at my visas and asked me why I went to the countries seen on my passport, especially one particular country in Europe. I've been to Europe and Asia mostly on vacation and lived for a while in Kenya. Plus you need to have enough funds. I had over 9m in my personal account and only 1.6m in my business and they didn't even take the business account statement. The process is extremely smooth and the embassy looks really really nice. I might not even go to Mexico since we are looking into other countries for our vacation.

Just to add:

The security at the embassy told me out of all the people who came, I was the only one issued a visa which made me wonder what has gone wrong in this country? I think Nigerians are increasingly going there with fake documents as usual. Even the security guards at NNPC were like congrats oga. Am like WTF?? LOL

Don't waste your time and effort going to Mexico. There people are impoverished and trying to get to US through the border. The few Nigerians I met in Tijuana are trying to cross the border which is heavily fenced and electronically monitored.

The thread honestly speaking makes no sense.

Poverty awaits any Nigerian who ignorantly travels these
