ikechu1:it doesn't matter whether anyone claim Igbo or not but the problem is that you are in a state where the govt will not vote for such union. For now we should argue on already existing region which we have at hand in line with our interest in other regions which includes delta north. I also hope that one day events will shape us together legally. |

Adaure4ever:Let's be realistic here. What's up with all these Igbo talks and Akwa Ibom sea port? There are functional seaports in Warri and Port Harcourt (closer to Aba) but Igbo's wouldn't use them. I remember GEJ saying then that after huge waivers have been offered to importers to use those ports but they prefer Lagos ports. Later you guys on Nairaland will say the Yorubas are manipulating everyone to use Lagos ports. In summary, Igbos use Lagos ports because Lagos is a huge market. Importers need easy access to huge markets where they could sell off their goods instantly...something Lagos offers |

flokii:To set the record straight, there is no place tagged osu in Igboland. In my place it is refer to as "amusu" which means witch/wizard. In every culture in the world non accept witches or wizards. This is applicable to igboland. There is no group of people/clan tagged osu or what ever you refer it as. Most of this believes are erronous as science has come to show us that some of these claims are unfounded. Take for instance in the olden days if a woman were to give birth to children who often die at tender age, they are called amusu and banished from the land. But in recent times, science have made us to know that some blood genotype when they give birth is likely to have a sickle cell kid. And these kids are likely to die at infancy if no medical attention is given to them. So you see there is nothing like osu as you implied. |

A good vision and a laudable initiatives. It's possible and it's impossible, it all depends on you how far u are willing to purse this nd see to it, it becomes a reality even though they are some flaws in ur assumption which u would find out nd correct on ur own if ur willing to start this journey of actualizing ur vision. For example the power act of Nigeria States that every power generated must be transferred to the National grid, so Enugu it's self can't generate power for her self alone but the whole Nigeria.. But lik I said earlier it's a laudable idea which is obtainable, buy u have to get down to serious work my dear, I for join u ohh, buy the 1 wey I dey na I never finish am, even CBN wey I think say go partner with me just tell me say weldone, it's a laudable idea nd we wish u Goodluck on ur endeavour. Just to give u a clue on the kind of country ur from, so don't get discouraged wen u meet disappointment, because if na that one my sister e plenty full road they wait for you.. But trust me at the end the journey is what the experience, keep ur eye fixed on your end result... So as CBN end for me... I which you Goodluck on your endeavour.. ![]() |

DaveAnte20:Boda, it doesn't work like that. Go make more research about the subject you are talking about. @Adaure4ever, i will take this section as a brainstorming one for the development of the southeast region. There are negative attitude and and fact among the Elites and leaders in this region that need to be Addressed. |

Adaure, you got it right. The challenge is that no eastern elected entity is thinking this way. The republican nature has nothing to do with real development as you suggested. Chukwuma Soludo's manifesto during the last gubernatorial election he vied for brought a similar idea for the development of Anambra, sadly enough he lost. Dissecting his plans, you will see that what you just said is achievable only if someone in the elected position calls it a duty. Jisie ike n'ede udi edemede a, enwere ike onye ga eme ya n'agu ya. |

Nne5:Seriously... Am interested in the babe but for someone who's politically inclined like her,she needs to be properly schooled in the art of war and diplomacy. Applying her theories is akin putting a square peg in a round hole...not that her theories are bad,but that they can't work in the present Nigerian clime ![]() |

Good idea, but will corruption allow this idea to become a reality? If our leaders understands that National or Regional Development requires a collective sense of responsibilities, which means all hands must be on deck to stir it to the promise Land. Sometimes i wonder why a country as big as Nigeria will rely heavily on Lagos ports alone for its importation &exportation functions causing congestions, gridlock of traffic, pressure on roads for goods to get the hinterlands. Pasts &present presidents takes frequent trip to China, but can't just take a bold step to setup or revive an existing seaports to complement or take the presure off Lagos, just like what is obtainable in China whose seaports are so numerous to mention. 2ndly, i think the Calabar- Lagos railway project, which i'm made to understand will cut across SS,SE,SW states & will complement the propose Deep Seaport at Ibaka,AKS. If these 2 signature projects will come to fruition. We are watching. OP, Nice write-up, ideas though, very unusual of a nowadays young lady to come up with an article such as this. #beautywithbrains kudos! |
