The Identification cards of would be pensioners is official ready in NITEL south west zone(precisely Benin). verification of would be pensioners settled! payment in arrears since 2006 next. Thanks Buhari for this miracle/policy.

Emphatically YES, my dad has gotten his verification/identification card. The payment is next! it will not exceed August 2016. see marvin10 quote too!

@eddy2muchmoney, i dont have to prove anything to u.... you already have too much money! verification that they paid about 4000 and all disengaged staffs gathered in dilapidated NITEL officeswith all listed items- letters of appointments, first/last pay slip, etc etc months later sms was sent by www.fugpensions.com with unique user name and passwords, then verification started. Now the verification Identity is OUT and u call it a scam? it be like say these hardship no touch u sha? i m favoured by 2 new federal govt policy- the 1 on compulsory french and now this........ hahahahahaha, You don reach marry and u know c money, maybe u understand better OR having HND certificate tucked away in ur box, no employment( fear of not being idle in a new year got u into 6months french class and february ending 2016- 2 months into clas- Fed govt policy on it!

There is no approval before accountant general. What is happening is that PTAD has sent a memo to Hon. Minister of Finance on the issue. The pension issue of NITEL was lumped with Nigeria Airways, NAFCON and some other privatised government firms. The amount is quite huge because it contains arrears of pensions of all these privatised agencies. However, PTAD has done different scenarios for these payments because the overall sum is very big which may discourage government if it is to pay all at once due to paucity of funds. These scenarios include payment of past arrears bit by bit and probably just adding these pensioners into the pension payroll from next year. some say the arrears in total is nearly 200 billion naira. The Minister is to scrutinize the request and then present it as a memo to the Federal Executive Council. If and when the FEC approves, then there will be appropriation for it either in this year's supplementary budget or for 2017 budget. The prayer should be that let the FEC approve once the issue is brought before the council.

@obindomanya: It is not pessimism. No vex oga. I am not a Nitel former staff or retiree. I am just privileged to have access to key information on your NITEL issue and i felt i should share. Information is power. Afterall, one other person here confirmed what i said. I really want you all to get your due rights having worked for government. It is really painful to not be on pension.
