Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by eddy2muchmoney: 12:45pm On Aug 07, 2016
Please don't believe everything you read. There is nothing like verification being done or completed for that matter. Some category of ex staff use this ID card issue to extort ex colleagues all in the name of putting their names on the list of those to be paid.
The only info I have now is that the office of the AGF claims they have limited funds,so payment will be in batches. They have not called for or done any verification.Thank you
Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by obindomanya(m): 3:32pm On Aug 07, 2016
@eddy2muchmoney, i dont have to prove anything to u.... you already have too much money! verification that they paid about 4000 and all disengaged staffs gathered in dilapidated NITEL officeswith all listed items- letters of appointments, first/last pay slip, etc etc months later sms was sent by www.fugpensions.com with unique user name and passwords, then verification started. Now the verification Identity is OUT and u call it a scam? it be like say these hardship no touch u sha? i m favoured by 2 new federal govt policy- the 1 on compulsory french and now this........
Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by obindomanya(m): 3:38pm On Aug 07, 2016
@sexymamaTee, they all gathered @ Old Nitel Asaba with the documents, i think b4 xmas... but payments will be in benin( territorial Headquarters of South west), where payments/arrears would be paid
Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by eddy2muchmoney: 6:17pm On Aug 07, 2016
obindomanya:Bros opening a pension account is not the same thing as verification .This was for category of staff who never had a RSA account(Retirement Savings Account) i.e those who were disengaged/retired 2006 downwards and those who missed opening one in 2007.This was done at Ibadan,Lagos,Kaduna,,enugu etc.Ex staff who left the system 2010 and 2015 already have RSA accounts. Verification will still come when they are ready for payment.
As for ID card,i actually thought you were referring to ATEN ID card that has been a scam to fleece others. All the same what you just described is opening of RSA account God Bless

Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by Sanni45(m): 10:41am On Aug 31, 2016
HisMajesty1:Heard Nitel payment is nw b4 d accountant general..Hopefully waitin 4 approval.
Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by brosiye99(m): 11:03am On Aug 31, 2016
There is no approval before accountant general. What is happening is that PTAD has sent a memo to Hon. Minister of Finance on the issue. The pension issue of NITEL was lumped with Nigeria Airways, NAFCON and some other privatised government firms. The amount is quite huge because it contains arrears of pensions of all these privatised agencies. However, PTAD has done different scenarios for these payments because the overall sum is very big which may discourage government if it is to pay all at once due to paucity of funds. These scenarios include payment of past arrears bit by bit and probably just adding these pensioners into the pension payroll from next year. some say the arrears in total is nearly 200 billion naira. The Minister is to scrutinize the request and then present it as a memo to the Federal Executive Council. If and when the FEC approves, then there will be appropriation for it either in this year's supplementary budget or for 2017 budget. The prayer should be that let the FEC approve once the issue is brought before the council.

Heard the same thing from a union member
Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by HisMajesty1: 4:20pm On Aug 31, 2016
Sanni45:Thanks for the update... Let's pray it is approved.
Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by HisMajesty1: 4:29pm On Aug 31, 2016
brosiye99:Thank also for this update. However, the last o heard was that the total sum was N300bn but. the union later found out that it was the PENCOM guys that inflated the money to that exorbitant amount. You talked about supplementary budget... I doubt if they would still be any supplementary budget this year. Whichever way let's hope for the best.

Re: Nitel Pensioners Should Come In by brosiye99(m): 9:19am On Sep 07, 2016
@obindomanya: It is not pessimism. No vex oga. I am not a Nitel former staff or retiree. I am just privileged to have access to key information on your NITEL issue and i felt i should share. Information is power. Afterall, one other person here confirmed what i said. I really want you all to get your due rights having worked for government. It is really painful to not be on pension.
