Good morning Gurus,
Please someone should explain better advisory services responded this morning but am confused with this am I claiming 15 point or 10 point under education.

Again I want to assess for marketing specialist due to some document requested for Insurance broker that I couldn't provide but Anszco need bsc for mkt specialist while insurance broker is diploma.

Do I need to re assess again with them for marketing specialist or I should go ahead and apply for the full assessment with vetassess using what they stated to package the new one after all they are closely related.

please help a sister out.

You have provided documents describing the following:

1. Bachelor of Science in Co-operative Economics and Management awarded in December 2004 by the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria (4 years)

Education Level:

Using the published guidelines that we refer to for assessing overseas qualifications against the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), it is likely that the above qualification would be assessed at AQF Associate Degree level. An AQF Associate Degree degree more than meets the educational level required for the occupation of Insurance Broker, as the occupation educational minimum level requirement is an AQF Diploma.

From the bolded statement it means u meet the requirements for the occupation. I guess that once u meet the requirements for the occupation u should get the full 15 points, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There's the engineering technologist occupation on both lists.
Have seen it but my concern is Nigeria HND certificate recognized there. if yes what are the steps to take to apply for this permanent residence visa. I've gone through the thread from beginning but still confused on where to start.

No, if her degree is assessed to equal associate degree, she will only get 10points. She would have had 15 if it was assessed to equal AQF Bachelor degree.

Hi guys!

I'm about to start the process. I have just received my PTE results, thankfully got 90 overall score, So I'm guessing that the next thing is to assess my educational qualifications. I have a copy of my university transcript ? Will vetassess accept this or do I need to get my Alma mater to send it. Also I attended Nnamdi Azikiwe University, does anyone know how long it takes them to send transcripts? Thanks alot.

Thanks guys for they clarification so am getting 10point right.@bellong do I need to re assess again for mkt specialist or to apply directly to vetassess since the two skills are similar what do you think.

Why am looking at another direction was because I don't have license to practise Insurance brokers but any other requirement I can get for mkt officer and I don't want to wait for another 21 days to get assessed for mkt specialist with advisory.

Firstly, advisory service is not a skill assessment, it serves only as a guidance or advisory purpose as the name suggests.

Secondly, it doesn't matter what occupation you get your visa in, you can work in any field and with any employer who is ready to employ you. There's no law that restrict one to the occupation the visa was granted.

Thirdly, you can only apply for the occupation you have a positive skill assessment in. You can't use one for another whether they are closely related or not.

Everybody should at least read all the links, it will help prevent asking some questions the answers are readily available.

It is written clearly and specifically on VETASSES'website that applicants from Nigeria must request their university to send their transcript and certificate directly to VETASSES.

How many years was your study for? I hope you have at least a year experience in the occupation you are nominating?

u don't need to apply for marketing specialists. Ur outcome simply means u can apply for insurance broker with the the documents u have provided and u are likely to get positive assessment. however this advisory service is actually not the full assessment. U can only claim 10points from ur qualification this was y I suggested persons with vetassess as their assessing authority should always apply for advisory services before full assessment. Just imagine you have apply for full assessment in ur marketing specialist? Ur guess is as good as mine. My advice now try and calculate your points if you hit 60 points then run with issuance broker and pray u get state nomination.. my little cent.

Hi guys I don't have any material and I didn't use any, go to this site practicepte. net, you will get a opportunity to solve 2 three hour PTE styled practice tests. They're exactly in the same format as the exam and you get an opportunity to see ideal answers for the 2 tests. You'll be required to pay for more tests if you wish to practice more and also to get expert evaluation of the test taken.

The test covers reading , speaking, writing and listening and is almost like the real test.

The key to passing the exam is practicing an ideal test so you can get used to the style but other than that it's basic stuff. Also when speaking, you need to be relaxed and be as natural as possible.

Yes......if you have received the invite and you have submitted your application/paid your visa fees. Read it up on expat forum.

Meaning if I give birth after we get an invitation to apply I won't pay the $900 visa fee?

Thanks Okosay am going with my insurance broker as stated. Am still having a little challenge on the points and I need clarification again.
Age - 25
English test let's say -10 am retaking ielts
Education - 10
Now I don't no if my work experience is 10 or 15 I have been working since 2008 as claim admin and started work with Ins broker 2011 till date.

Which one am I claiming for 2011 To date or 2008 till date?

If it's 15 point then I have 60 without state sponsor but if it's 10 it will be 55points, do I have good chances for 190 with 55 point? I heard they invite people with high point first before other's

Finally is it possible to thick 190 and 489 at the same time just to be on a safe side.

Sorry bellong and others for my too many questions.

Thank you.

@Utcheylee

Work experience points to claim will be confirmed/known after your skills assessment. Only the assessing authority have definite answer to the question.
However, you can only claim points for the work experience that relates to the nominated occupation. You can't claim experience points for occupation not related to your nominated occupation.

You only need minimum of 55 points for state sponsorship, the state adds the remaining 5points except in special conditions where the state clearly defines the points needed for a particular occupation.

The choice is yours if you want to add 489 to your application. Yes you can choose both 190 and 489 on the EOI. But bear it in mind that 489 is not a permanent resident visa but only a pathway. The implication is that you are not entitled to any government support or Medicare. To me 489 is a waste of resources.
