What airline. ..how about calling the airline directly instead of the agency and see if u can reschedule the connecting flight part for one day. Might be cheaper than rescheduling d whole flight. And then u look for a cheap hotel. But then there might be visa fees in that country if u have to come out to a hotel ....or u miss ur connecting flight deliberately...... .lol.and hang around till u get a connecting flight 24hours later...long wait but safer for u. Some airlines reschedule missed flight for you for free outside Nigeria ... my head again

My ticket is for July 31st to arrive August 1st. Start date is September 1st. It skipped my mind that August had 31 days and the earliest I can arrive is August 2nd. Called my travel agent to move the am date up e to 3 days but she is letting me know that there are no seats till mid September and due to summer prices have escalated. Could this pose a big problem to me? Thanks for your 2 cents guys.

Don't be panic, just pray and when you get to POE you explain to the officer there about the flight booking issues...

The worst will be for the officers there to allow you in or delay you inside the airport for 24 hours so that you wont violate the immigration rules.

Take risk and have faith..

I am going to advice you based on first hand experience. Take it or leave it.

First, don't panic or fret, you are not the first, there are two nairalanders that I personally know who have travelled 33days to resumption, the other was 35days I guess. There is nothing there, tell them you have an orientation which is compulsory for you to attend. That the date on your I-20 is the start of class.

The second advice is just a joke, miss your connecting flight to US, don't worry your money is not gone, you'll be placed on the next flight to US, but you'll have to sleep at the airport if there is no other flight leaves that same day. But seriously if you miss your connecting flight, your money is not gone, you'll get into the next one. I've missed flight on three different occasions here in US cos I wasn't ready, I went to the airport same day and they gave me other options. I didn't pay a dime. My uncles wife's mother missed her connecting flight in instabul (mama say make she catch small sleep), she was placed on another flight the next day to US.

The third thing for you to do is when you arrive US, don't go to the CBP yet, just hang around till the next day before heading to the CBP this is also a joke.

Lastly, search for PCBO on Nairaland and read his post. If you want me to call him to come here and give you hope, then let me know. Nothing is going to happen, they'll allow you enter.

A costly mistake this is. Now you have to weigh the risks: forfeiting the flight fee or violating the entry rule. I still believe you can find a date before Sept 1. You may have to upgrade the ticket to fly Business Class at an extra cost if all economy seats have been filled within the 30 days of your resumption. Business class don't get filled quickly compared to economy. With that, you'll play safe. It would have been much easier if you booked directly other than through agents. That's my opinion. I hope it helps?

Why can't CBN sell dollars to banks directly the way they have been doing many years ago and If I am not wrong, because the truth of the matter is that CBN are the ones selling to cabals and these cabals will now resell to BDC or commercial banks.
