There was a centurion whose servant was sick and possibly at the brink of death, Jesus was amazed at his faith because the centurion asked Him to just say the word and he believed it would heal his servant. His servant would have been heal regardless because he exercised some faith first of all but this was even different he saved Jesus from walking or riding to the place to lay hands,the servant was heal "quicker".

God made plants and put the ability to heal in them, unbelievers eat them and obtain healing whether they have faith or not because God has already put it there,same way rain shines on the good and bad. Some believers turn to these same herbs and thrusting God's word that they would heal them. Some believe that they don't even need herbs,they just pray and they are healed. Others have faith they won't fall sick at all. God doesn't judge people with lesser faith but he rewards those who have taken time to grow in it.

Lastly note that saying you won't get sick with your mouth isn't what faith is about, you can trick man but God can see your faith.

Now let's assume that at that moment, someone was laying hands on any of them to wake up and such person wakes up, the lower-thinkers will say that the restoration of life was by the prayer, whereas nature would still have raised such person without the prayer.

Reminds me of many accidents that has been averted without the mention of any names, but the low-thinkers would have shouted 'Jesus!!!' and when the accident is normally averted, they will say it is because they shouted 'Jesus!'

It is a good philosophy though (if you can control it) and most of the tenets of the early humanists in the rennaisance were derived from their Christian upbringing. However, there are OTHER LEVELS of faith that we can grow into and are encouraged to grow into. A very limited percentage grow into this levels. It is not COMPULSORY to grow into these levels. However to receive other things from God, you need to grow. It is that simple. Not everybody works miracles, that does not mean they are not christians, neither should atheists cry more than the bereaved.

And it teaches us to hate our very nature, causing an obsession with unrealistic ideals.

Humanism is the way to go.

A girl had leukemia and the dad refused to follow the doctors recommendation, instead he kept his daughter at home and was believing God's report that his daughter was healed. The daughter died and everyone came for his head. Even Christians said he was a fool.

A pastor dies and his pastor brother and family starts praying for his resurrection. Christians on nairaland called them fools, said he is dead and can't return. What?! Can't God raise the Dead? A man was bitten by a snake in Idu-Osun, Osun state some 10years ago. He insisted on staying in Church and praying. He died after about 6 hours in the church. I recall how everyone, including me (I was a christian then) called the man a fool. Said he was testing God?
So trusting God has become testing God?

Why do we call people fools for trusting God?

What would be a pastors reaction if a BEHEADED person is brought to his church and he is asked to pray for the dead person to come to life?

When God does what we desire, nobody goes out of his way to raise alarm. Sun rises and set everyday nobody cares to shout in the street. We merely take these things for granted, but the moment it doesn't turn the way we want we begin to harass God.
What about all the claims of miracles. What about the dead of 7 days who came back to live. There was no official street demonstration to publicize. But the moment someone died despite prayer, or attempt to resurrect someone fails hell is let loose with name calling against God.
Does God reserve the right to act or refrain from acting at all?
