Back then in secondary school (boarding school) while I was reading one Saturday morning, I noticed students were running away from a particular part of the class room block.

I looked out from the window and asked a student what was wrong. He then told me there was a snake in one of the classrooms.

Now, me being the curious type, I decided to see for myself. Other students stopped to see this "person" that is going towards where everyone is running from.

They showed me the particular class and I looked carefully before entering hoping that it's one small snake like that.

Lest I forget, my school is a mixed school (boys and girls).

As I come de look around, ladies and gentlemen see one big black snake for one corner of the wall. Now, the big snake I'm talking of is the 35% of the snake I could see. The other 65% of the snake is inside the hole in the wall o.

Liver fail me sharp sharp. I wanted to give up and run away too. I was just in ss1 and my seniors wey de around there don vamoose come de peep from afar.

As I turn back come see people looking at me as one hero already, and even wey girls don de hail me. I no feet fall my hand na.

I summoned courage. Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the presence of fear, yet still going on.

I got a stick and started flogging hell outta the snake. Since it couldn't continue going in, it started to come out hoping to finish the idiot flogging it (me)

I continued until about 75% of the body was outside. The courage I had faded away. I had to gather fresh courage cos I knew that if I stopped at that point, it's suicide mission.

When the neck region came out I flog nonsense comot from him body until it stopped moving. I slowly brought it out and smashed the head.

Brothers and sisters, it was a cobra. The over sabis there said it was 15 yrs old based on they counted 15 colours on the belly which I saw too. But all I know is that It was around 5-6 ft long.
We just cut off the head and buried it. Nobody used it as pepper soup

Well that's my story. It might not mean anything to you but it meant something to me especially as I did it as a small teenager
