It’s my turn to give back oooo
After we renewed and selected dropbox, they called me for an interview. A few days later, my DH’s visa was ready for collection. Thank God for the encouragement on this thread I for don cry finish. Anyway I prepped like mad. Gathered a truckload of burden of proof (Phema would be proud), and travelled to Abuja. My transcript:
VO: calls me to her counter, didn’t mention my surname
Me: Good afternoon ma'am how do you do?
VO smiles: great and you? (I smile say ok) sorry I couldn’t pronounce your surname, I didn’t want to make a mistake
Me: Not a problem ma'am, its ---
VO attempts to pronounce it, makes me laugh and that sets the tone of the interview
VO: So we notice the last time you travelled it seems you had a baby in the US
Me: Yes ma'am
VO: Can we see any receipts?
Me: Yes ma'am, I have 2 receipts from 2 different hospitals
VO: How come?
Me: I went on vacation, my big sister convinced me to attempt a water birth in a birthing center. Fast forward real labor, after 3 days of pain I was begging for an epidural and so I had to be transferred to a hospital
VO (laughs): Ok (takes receipts from me)
Types and types
VO: your receipt is not itemized.
Me: no, that’s all they gave me, along with a letter of non-indebtedness
VO: Ok you might want to get an itemized receipt from them as it could be asked for at the POE. Am assuming this trip is to have another baby…
Me: yes ma'am ( In my head: how could it not be, with my very long belle)
VO: Are you giving birth in the same place?
Me: No ma'am.
VO: why not?
Me: I now know I'm a sissy when it comes to pain, so this time around, I'm pre-paying for my epidural in a hospital.
VO (laughs): Natural childbirth sounds great
Me: Yeah until you're in labor for 3 days.
We have a good laugh
She types and types
VO: did you tell them at the airport the last time that you were going to have a baby:
Me: I think so, I was so tired and my mum was with me doing most of the talking, I really can’t remember…
VO: did you go for secondary inspection?
Me: no
VO: ok were approving your visa, make sure…. (All the usual advice)
I'm ecstatic!
Me: thank you ma'am! My visa is still coming via DHL right?
VO: Yes
I float out of the embassy
God has been awake on my behalf. He has used you all to help me. I did my renewal without help from any agent, only the advice from this group. Thank you for giving me the information so freely and kindly. This is one forum where I see Nigerians giving for the sake of giving. Thank you and God bless you all.
Now on to ticket waka who knows where I can hustlecheap ticket for first week of September for me and my less than 2 yr old? biko, mbok, ejo, da allah.. eep a sister in need

I travelled wiv my toddler. He wasn't up to 2 wen we were leaving so he didn't have a seat. My mum and dh travelled wiv us but didn't make much diff as he was very clingy. Lag-dubai was uneventful. He had fun watching cartoons, then slept d rest of d journey.
Dubai-houston wasn't as easy as he easily got bored plus there were oda kids on d aircraft and all dy wanted to do was run around. Till he slept around d last 5-6hrs.
Wasn't difficult keeping him occupied in houston. TV, ipad, strolling and shopping.
And he was such a gud boy while mummy was labouring. (Maybe fear from seeing me in so much pain) but I'm not d dramatic type. There was no screaming or cursing while in labour and I didn't use epidural.
Thou there were days he wanted no one but me n I'd ve to put him on my back wiv my bump till he sleeps (super woman wink ). Didn't go down well wiv mum but had to b done for peace sake.
I think d best is to give dem space to run around n play. Dat way u'd b less stressed. The neighbourhood we stayed in was very child friendly thou so twasnt difficult allowing him play outdoors while we watch.
Hope dis helps. smiley

If I'm not wrong there is no 'one day package' so I doubt the fee will be cheaper or anyone can get a refund
even if you get to the hospital and put to bed in an hour and leave immediately that will fall under the two day package

Same thing If a c section mom spends only two days don't think she will get a refund

grin thot so too. Just me hoping and living in a fools paradise cos of dis dollar craze

Please kindly assist to forward Dr amajoh s contact details I also intend to use him

Apologies for not sharing the full story earlier....I have been trying to acclimatize.....so back to the story
Myself and DH got to the airport around 8pm, we had to wait for some mins to allow the KLM passengers check-in...passed through the NDLEA peeps to search the boxes...I had a box with foodstuff and another with clothes etc...
Finally we were set to leave at around past 11pm....the economy seats were not really spacious .....well fast forward to Paris..
We had about 2 hours stop over..flight was delayed for about 30mins...finally left at 8.50am ...while waiting to board I was having some pains and praying nothing should go wrong while still in Paris or on board to US...
Landed at JFK at about 11 am. ...fortunately one of the officials passed me to the front line ...in less than 10 mins I was with the CBP officer..
CBP officer: why are you here?
Me: to give birth
CBP: Why the US?
Me: need better medical care for my baby...
CBP: How much do you have with you?
Me: 4k dollars Cash with about 7k in cards
CBP: you declare you have food items; what are they?
Me: yam flour, cassava flour etc
CBP: Any specialist doc you are seeing
Me: yea, have an appointment with a doc on Tuesday. .showed him the appointment letter
CBP: excuse me, I will be back in few mins
Me and hubby were waiting on the counter and hoping there will be no secondary inspection cos we had 2 hours to catch the next flight...
After 3 mains, CBP officer returned...
CBP: your fingers pls...face up.....stamped us in till Dec 31st
Na so we Waka enter the US oooo. At agriculture, the guy looked at my big Belle. ..seems you are ready to pop...all d best...collect our card ...bye bye
Nothing was checked. ..na so my iru, ogbono, fish, yam flour, cassava flour, Maggi etc pass enter US ooo
Tok the air train to terminal 5 and checked in Jet blue flight to Houston...
It was a very tiring trip but I thank God everything went well...
Yesterday I was having some pains...DH quickly called the hospital and I was told to come see the ER doc.got there in abt 10 mins. ..the nurse checked me and said everything was okay and I should go home...
Chilling Independence day at home and waiting for my appointment tomorrow with Dr Amajoh...
Sorry for the epistle....lol

Your question is not clear. If you have a valid visa, no need for embassy, purchase your ticket right away. if not, the person has to reapply first before purchase of ticket

Hello House, Got a response from Stanbic IBTC stating that there exchange rate on debit card is NGN350 to $1. I personally think its not a bad deal considering the Forex scarcity.

@lady G & girlloom, u Ladies are thinking about d family or friends u want to please while putting ur child or self future in jeopardy.l do not know any of you but the sooner u report to IRS ,the better for u .The only name to using another person's SSN is called fraud.Dnt put ur children in trouble.USA is not Nigeria where anything goes or can be settled with the waving of a few naira notes. A lot of Naija people here are very desperate & can use even their blood relatives to make dollars let alone u.ln US investigation on tax collectors are carried or checked annually & any day they find out that any magomago has been happening(which they will no matter how long it takes),men u guys will not only blame ur selves but ur life too.People go to jail & still pay present rate whatever has been taken 20yrs ago.It is a serious crime to give anybod ur SSN to transact any bizness on ur behalf .She definitely claimed ur child as hers, that was why she was able to open that account else the bank wouldn't have done that .
Thus,if she commits any crime like being caught on tax issues,it is easy for her to close the account but u & ur son will be traced, the bank can't close that account unless u involve a lawyer to claim the child is urs & so is d SSN.And if she tells u she will shot it down or has shot d account down,go and verify it at interval and at different branches that is if she doesn't close one to open another in a different bank entirely that was why that man advised u to involve d IRS,cos he knows the venom of that crime, for future reference, and because they will make Sure she doesn't use it else were.
A word is enough for the wise. Good luck to both of u

You must pay all the bills yourself.
Taking Medicare is fraud and will cause you immigration problems in the future.
