The job should correspond to what you study but as a matter of rule if the job requires a university degree or its equivalent you should apply even if it does not correspond to what you study apart from state controlled professions like doctors, pharmacist, lawyers and real estaste consultant.

I quietly disagree with your analysis of half year for study duration. In fact if you hold a German degree, you receive expedited consideration. Meaning you do not even have to stay for the required minimum years as for someone without a German degree. Please do your research very well as your post might be misleading. For the avoidance of doubt, section 18b of the Residence Act states that Section 18b "A foreigner who has successfully completed his or her studies at a state or state-recognised university or a comparable educational establishment in the federal territory shall be granted a settlement permit, if 1. he or she has held a residence title pursuant to Sections 18, 18a, 19a or 21 for two years, 2. he or she has a job commensurate with his or her degree, 3. he or she has paid compulsory or voluntary contributions into the statutory pension scheme for at least 24 months or furnishes evidence of an entitlement to comparable benefits from an insurance or pension scheme or from an insurance company, and 4. the requirements of Section 9 (2), sentence 1, nos. 2, and 4 to 9 are met; Section 9 (2), sentences 2 to 6 shall apply mutatis mutandis". After your graduation, working for just two years qualify you for a settlement permit!

Many thanks for your response.

pls whats your bearing on duration of study and how it translates to obtaining the 18months work permit. Must the study period be beyond a period of 12months before one qualifies for an 18month work permit?

Tnx, like how long can your visa be extended, if one is able to secure a job that requires his/her university degree?

No, you can't apply for permanent resident during the 18 months. You qualify for Permanent resident after staying 5 yrs in Germany and u qualify for d German passport after staying for 8 yrs.

But also note that ur years used studying qualify as half to your permanent resident status meaning when counting d no of years, if you used 5 (msc+ bsc) years to study it only counts as 2.5 years while full year counts only wen u start working full time after graduation or u stsrt phd as phd is recognized as a full time job if its the one u get a contract for. So if u do a 3 year phd, it counts as 3 yrs. Meaning in your case if u only do a 2 yr MSC, den u av only gotten 1 yr of d needed 5 yrs to qualify for PR. Your 18 month job hunting period will also count as 9 months towards your PR. Meaning In all by d time your 18 elapse u only av used 1 yr and 9 months towards PR.

I hope u get my explanation?

And as for health insurance, u pay monthly for it to remain covered for as long as u stay in Germany. Its a monthly payment thing that u must not default or u get a fine for each month u default

Just to add to this

Most pple re nt aware that Graduates of German unis re eligible for settlement permit (Permanent residency in Germany)after 2yrs of workin irrespective of the duration of ur course...even if the Job is not 100% position

I ve a collegue who is abt to benefit from the waiver....Below os is the waiver as stated in online gesetz...

---
A foreigner who has successfully completed his or her studies at a state or state-recognised university or a comparable educational establishment in the federal territory shall be granted a settlement permit, if

1. he or she has held a residence title pursuant to Sections 18, 18a, 19a or 21 for two years,

2. he or she has a job commensurate with his or her degree,

3. he or she has paid compulsory or voluntary contributions into the statutory pension scheme for at least 24 months or furnishes evidence of an entitlement to comparable benefits from an insurance or pension scheme or from an insurance company, and

4. the requirements of Section 9 (2), sentence 1, nos. 2, and 4 to 9 are met; Section 9 (2), sentences 2 to 6 shall apply mutatis mutandis.

The letter should be handwritten. Just take passport photo of 8 copies with white/grey background. Should capture more of your face.

hey guys please how much do i need to budget as the total cost of runing the entire visa processing for germany.

can i get admission from a school with just my olevel WAEC result?

if i attend clases at GOETHE INSTITUTE BUT DO NOT WRITE THE language exam and at the end of 3months i am given 9LANGUAGE OF PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE) , will the german embassy see it as a red flag during visa processing?

please i need your answers to these questions
How much money in naira right? the exchange rate determines that. But in euro, say €10k.

Waec is not good enough for direct admission.

What red flag? 3 months at Goethe Institut is equivalent to A1 level. Thats just basics.

You want to study in German or english?

All can pass except the palm oil , if the person can hide the bottle of oil in a way that they cannot see it then good but if they see it they will seize it. If the palm oil pass through Nigeria, no problem with it at German entry point
Thank you very much.

to my own knowledge, i will advice you to act fast and fund your account. Dont wait for mail to fund, cuz you wont receive such. Dont panic, if you were to be rejected, you would have been notified by now. So go and complete your Application(funding) ASAP!!!

at the amateur football level you can combine both depending on the team, the city and your MSc programme choice...
for professional football i cannot say much..
