Liar. Which greatest nation had their founding fathers as devoted Christians ?
And did these founding fathers think and use their brains or did they surrender their responsibilities to the Toothfairy ?
The USA for a start.

First off bro, I ain't a bro, I am a babe, check the moniker again.

Secondly, on NL here, you cant talk about anything to do with faith or prayers without some 'intellectual' ranting off about why religion and faith are the problems of the world, Nigeria, yada yada yada!!! If people are lazy and seek short-cuts rather than apply their God given wisdom/brain to solve their man made problem that is not the problem of religion. In fact, I would argue that such people are frauds themselves and if they get scammed, they deserve it.

Thirdly, atheists being outnumbered is neither here or there, the fact remains that atheists get a *b0ner* when topics like these are posted because everybody is a lagbaja online; and the two faiths may have sections dedicated to them, it hasn't stopped atheists from pissing on them consistently. Besides, Seun is an atheist, his fellow atheists can ask him to do create a section for them.

My bad on mixing up your sex.. grin

Technically speaking. . Every time a religious post is put up here or a religious topic is started out here in the real world, it's in our faces. You expect non-believers to keep mum with religion being shoved in their faces every blessed day abi? That's unfair.

Radio, Television, newspapers, the Internet and even down to our neighbourhoods, religion is literally shoved down people's throats. Hells, Jehovahs witnesses would literally walk up to your doorstep, knock and invade your privacy to put their beliefs in your face. I think it's unfair that you don't take offense to that but it's the oppressed minority (I used oppressed for want of a better adjective) that speak up every no and then that you actually have issues with.. Not cool babe.. In a room full of a hundred people, barely 5 would be unbelievers. You can live 100 years and never will an unbeliever turn up at your doorstep or jump up inside a fully loaded bus and start putting his or her unbelief in your face. You can listen to the media and for every 1000 religious ad or gospel or program you hear, less than 1% of said program would be from unbelievers.. I bet you have never been woken up in the morning to unbelievers yelling into a microphone disturbing your peace..

So I maintain my darling that you are simply upset with a minority (extremely minority) group for upsetting the apple cart which is mainstream religion. It is most unfair to say minority unbelievers are ranting off about blah blah when you have not said shiit about the majority believers of diverse faiths who rant off at every given opportunity in our faces every day even inside our personal spaces without permission or consideration about their beliefs and how we unbelievers are the cause of the world problems and how we will all on day be set on fire and made to burn for eternity. grin

Think about it Babe. grin

I remember a very memorable quote of yours.
The one in which you wrote
" Common sense is your enemy " ( when it comes to religion) .

With that quote in mind, I see clearly where you're coming from.
grin grin

Now, back to the issue.

In every nation, there are always a small minority of people who exist and live on the fringes of lunacy. These are not policy makers nor people who influence the direction of national policies.

Joel Olstein, T.J Jakes, Benny Hinn, Crefto Dollar, etc, are the similar set of charlatans that feed fat on the people on these fringes.

Now, here is the problem.

In Nigeria, the far majority of the population are beholden to magical thinking, and are permanently stationed on the fringes of lunacy.

For charlatans like Kumuyi and Oyedepo, these are inexhaustible resources to mine and exploit for huge profits.

In the countries that you mentioned above, men and women whose worldviews are anchored on magical thinking are not allowed to filter through their systems and occupy positions where they make decisions that affect the entire populations.

Aside from being daylight money fraudsters, these two men spread a horrible mental disease that takes many many generations to cure.
I agree with you on d point you made about a small percentage of d people being a fanatic, but I disagree with your conclusion. religion can be said to have suffered a huge decline in d past decades, but those advanced countries were highly religious when they were building the foundation of their country. it is easy to blame religion, but a country like Saudi Arabia is developed yet highly religious. America is no more religious but the citizens are crying the country has witnessed a huge decline in development. if all you want to do is blame something or someone for Africa's stunted growth, don't you think there are more areas or things u can blame?

Technically speaking. . Every time a religious post is put up here or a religious topic is started out here in the real world, it's in our faces. You expect non-believers to keep mum with religion being shoved in their faces every blessed day abi? That's unfair.

Au contraire my friend, non-believers very rarely keep mum on religious issues on blogosphere because of the anonymity that the virtual world offers everyone of us and to be honest, I don't expect them to keep mum, my issue with the non-religious is that they are becoming exactly what they consistently rant about.

I bet you have never been woken up in the morning to unbelievers yelling into a microphone disturbing your peace..

Do you have a problem with freedom of expression? A Jehovah witness can knock on my door and I can equally slam my door in his/her face, in my part of the world, people do not preach on buses or disturb the peace of others without being penalised. You can't have a party in your house and make noise without your noise making equipment(s) being confiscated and maybe even fined, unless of course you want to blame our collective lack of political will to make our leaders accountable on the religious.

So I maintain my darling that you are simply upset with a minority (extremely minority) group for upsetting the apple cart which is mainstream religion. It is most unfair to say minority unbelievers are ranting off about blah blah when you have not said shiit about the majority believers of diverse faiths who rant off at every given opportunity in our faces every day even inside our personal spaces without permission or consideration about their beliefs and how we unbelievers are the cause of the world problems and how we will all on day be set on fire and made to burn for eternity. grin

This is where you are mistaken, being a minority does not give anyone a free pass, our political leaders are a minority, ISIS is a minority, it has not stopped them from oppressing the majority with the majority being almost powerless to stop the undue aggression/oppression.

Think about it Babe. grin

I have thought about it and still do darling, I have a lot of respect for you as a poster but on this one I disagree with you. I am not even a fan of the Nigerian MOGs, my view on them is gist for another day but my issue with those who oppose them praying is this, they are pastors, praying is what they do! Why is that an issue? Nigeria's problem was not created by pastors, it was created by all of us and it is important that all of us to take a collective responsibility. What I see consistently on NL is the non religious' superiority complex and always wanting to pass the buck.

Pastors are a problem of Nigeria, just as women, politicians, lecturers, lawyers, bankers, civil servants et al are.

I am a married woman, if my hubby become a serial philanderer tomorrow (God forbid), many pastors will tell me to pray and look to God to change him but because I am not an idiot, I will not be looking to God to help me solve a man-made problem, I will put my brain in gear 1 and do practical things which will not stop me from also PRAYING grin

Peace out bro! wink

You are wrong. They pray privately in their homes in matters concerning personal issues and not when it involves solutions to a country where the number one occupation is corruption. The irony here is, Nigerians brutalize their children from birth to force them to have "respect" but don't understand what that word means. Worse is, they brainwash them in religious houses to be slaves to swindlers. Why the phuck are people praying when the solution is obvious? There would be no need for prayers if Nigerians accepted responsibility for their actions. Every Nigerian needs to admit that he/she is a contributing factor in the debacle called Nigeria. When you burn suspects in the streets or you are an on looker, when you give policemen bribe, when you take bribe, when you litter and dump refuse indiscriminately etc, you are directly contributing to Nigeria being a failed state. Lazy people pray. People who take responsibility get to work to fix what is broken.
They refuse to hear the truth, nobody said you should pray, as this poster as listed, you prayer squads shoulf think about it yourselves. A country were churches are more than schools, yet crime and sin is the order of the day, citizens are not happy with each other. We pray for NEPA to bring light, imagine. Bad roads with high probability of accidents, low quality education, pastors stealing another church's member. All am saying is the standard of living in Nigeria is at an all time low.
