Weldone OP, I love this thread and i say kudos to you. In addition pls, those of you asking for where to get d seed, u can buy a big water melon, cut into two and keep it somewhere for 3-4 days to ferment, get the seed there, wash with water to separate the seed from d decayed rubbish and sun dry as directed by the OP

DO NOT PLANT THE SEED THAT HAS MIXED WITH SALIVA, IT WILL NOT GROW.

You don't mean it shocked God is indeed awesome

Vanpascore:

Just get d seed by any means apart from eating. When u plant a dried seed, It makes it grow better. Let it dry completely, d days depend on d intensity of sun in ur area.

But why does saliva hinder it's growth

most watermelon you buy in the store are hybrid. I wouldn't advice anyone to plant seeds from a hybrid fruit. They wouldn't grow true to the type you planted. Best bet is buy your seeds from a dealer. that way you know what you are planting and what time to expect.

Where are you based? How does the raingun work? Can you show some pictures. I think I'm interested. I planted water melon for over a week now few days after it rained heavily one day but none has germinated because there is no rain. I think it's because of lack of water.

That may not be the cause because given the right conditions, your seed was supposed to start sprouting 4days after sowing. Dig up one or more of the seeds to know its condition. BTW, where is the source of your seeds?

I tried digging out some of them this morning. But there was nothing there. No traces of the seeds whatsoever. It was surprising.

The source of my seeds was from some ripe water melon I got and washed last year.

Probably, they lost viability since they are not commercial seeds. They should be fully decomposed by now under the soil. Try sowing new set of seeds that have been sun-dried.

That's my plan. in fact I want to buy the commercial seeds from an agro store and re-plant.

@ Magnam, great work, keep it up.
18-10-14... It rained heavily today, but I transplanted some water melon seedlings (F1 Koloss) and planted some seeds(Kaolack). I couldn't spray the grown ones with the Cypeforce 'cos of heavy downpour. Today's weather is favourable for transplanted ones, thank God.

Kindly help where I get the F1 Koloss and Kaolack seeds.
