Respectfully.

Tota Score:303

Verbal Reasoning:151

Quantitative Reasoning:152

Analytical Writing: 4/6

Also i forgot to Mention, i graduated with a Third Class Honours Grade.

Imagine my suprise upon realising my GRE scores all but eliminate that disadvantage smiley smiley

Pls Feel Free to reach out: da.zx@outlook.com
Gre does not have anything to do with your third class even if it is pass you had, you could score in gre more than a first class if you prepare well. I dont think anybody on this thread could find 303 outstanding even most people reject scores like this irrespective of their type of class.

Thanks kaima2015. Yes I am very worried about my AWA score. I don't have research publications and my only research experience is my MSc dissertation. Lol. I have work experience of 7 years in my area of interest.

Too bad, I have already re-registered. It has pushed me back 2 months in starting my applications, but hopefully I can get my apps completed latest mid-Dec. Thanks for caring, I really appreciate.

no problem...since you dont have research publications or research experience ,it is best you retake the GRE just as happyday advised...all you need is to make the same scores or improve the performance and an AWA score of of least 4.5...cut off point for Ivy League schools is 4.5.....Second Tier is 4.0

one of the best materials for AWA is Mark Alan Stewart's book...it will expose you to the questions

it is best to focus on the Issue Essay tasks.....they are generally more difficult than the Argument Essay tasks.....if you are well composed on test day.....and you have analytical skills you can punch holes into an Argument by clearly stating the assumptions.

Think like this ...for instance....If I state that ""The Federal Government has received many complaints on Increased Power Shortage"" ...you can punch holes into this argument by stating whether the complaints came from ""thousands"" or one or few persons who called ""many times"" etc etc

The best way to off-set your GRE score is to retake the GRE. While I agree with kaima2015, you need not look back. Prep for the AWA, but NOT at the detriment of the other two. Remember, you can't combine different GRE scores. In my opinion though, you can get it right with the AWA with 1 (or 2 weeks) of focused prep. Ask those who got a 6.0 or 5.5, and you'll see their techniques are fairly similar.

I wish you the best in your applications.

Thanks! I can start with you! You had 5.5! Oya bring tips!

And yes, I am focusing on all sections. Need to improve scores in all sections. God help me.

@ our dear "gre coach". Imagine how weary we are to accept your offer after finding out your scores. While it is not impossible that u really can teach the GRE and make people ace them, perhaps a bit more tact in vaunting your coaching prowess will be prudent. All the best in your endeavors. Cheers.

Dropbox will tell you that you can't preview the file because it's been zipped (.rar format).
Download it and extract the video files therein, there should be apps in the apple App Store that can decompress .rar files, otherwise you're better off using a PC.

Your comment is a bit harsh. You don't know where he's coming from (academic background). While 303 isn't really a stellar result, a 4 point in the AW is beyond average. Thumbs up to you!

Hi Guys,

My GRE prep. is going fine. Four - five hours daily for at least 3 months I think should be sufficient for adequate preparation (I intend to go 5-6 months tho.)

I intend to give you guys a heads up on my progress and not to sound ostentatious.

I've read/studied the Official Guide (a compulsory starting point) and 2 of the 8 Manhattan Strategy guide series.

Each Morning (6am - 7am) before the 4 hours session, I practice the comprehension questions on the 5lb. Manhattan GRE guide. There are almost 100 passages (if not more) and about 180 comprehension questions in total in this book. I take an average of 10 questions (equivalent to about 4-5 passages) in 20 minutes two times each morning.

I stick to 20 minutes because on the real test I intend to use about 10 minutes to answer the sentence equivalence and text completion questions then the remaining 20 minutes to face the Comprehension questions. (If there's a flaw in my thinking, please kindly mention).

I use about 40 minutes since I go 2 rounds. Afterwards I use about 30 minutes to learn GRE words (average of 10 - 15 words) using the ubiquitous 400 wordlist on NOVA.

Then for the 4 hours session I alternate daily between quantitative (presently on the 3rd Manhattan strategy) and verbal (Using Gruber at the moment).

I've gone like this daily for about 2 weeks. I intend to take one test on the Official Guide and one on Powerprep after finishing the 8 Manhattan series and Gruber. Then the second test on both mediums after going through all the prep materials I've got; Barron, NOVA math bible, Magoosh wordlist and videos, Princeton, Kaplan - for Analytical Writing-, the 5lb. Manhattan and Gruber (other things being equal).

For those of us preparing for the test, keep reading! You're not alone. Also don't forget to keep encouraging others too.

God would crown our efforts with success. Amen.

Cheers.

You will still be writing the complete GRE. what that simply mean is their cut-off mark in the quantitative section for Msc and PhD and it's in the odd GRE score model. If the above score is converted to the new model it should be 610 (160) and 648 (163). I might not be correct but it should be close.
