I did not follow season 8 at all,not even 1 show, I just later randomly picked some that I watched later on YouTube, so ano even fan anybody.

My point is

MTN seems to be dropping quality right from season 7.

Wouldn't know abt aw last season's daily show was but I really felt season was so cool,

Live streaming is poor
Stage is small
Choice of Praiz
Quality of contestant (I keep asking, r dis d best W.A could present
Level of discipline in the house
Celebrity visit is yet to happen
Choice of genre to sing seems to b (a way to win back naija fans)


My question is based around (Quality)

Hmmm....... Season 7. I have a lot of memorable moments in that season. Is it Geoffrey's Genesis performance....... The first and only performance Ty mix will give a standing ovation and voted for.

Is it Christian's performance where he flung away his shoe. I don't even remember the title of song. I can only remember the passion he bought into that performance. Christian don't have that voice but he's always bringing in passion, hunger and I go die here attitude into every performances.

Emeka's mum also made it memorable. The babe that was ashamed of her Dad also cut it for me. And the season arguably have the best group songs performances...... Is it the Lagbaja and the Micheal Jackson performances.

In all honesty the contestants that bought in singing and performances day in and day out was Geoffrey and Christian.

This season I've already had memorable performances from 90% of the contestants and not just few.
........... Back to your points.

Live streaming is poor.......... Project fame ha never had any live anything before. They are all prerecorded. They are deceiving themselves.

Stage: The stage always seems the same size stage to me......... I remembered Ultima studio was burnt down in season 7, so they moved the contestants to another place.

Praiz: I agree........ With the way he abused standing ovation is indeed a fall in standard.

Quality of Contestants : Refer to my opening post.

Level of discipline : is that not the season a contestant slapped a fellow contestant? Is that not the season Geoffrey and the babe that took first runner up cuddled in the house? Or maybe I should ask you the definition of your discipline.

Celebrity Judge....... We already have 1 this season or is he not a celebrity?

Choice of naija song : if indeed is a tactic by MTN, I'll say is about time. As someone said, other international singing competition don't permit their contestants to sing African songs the way will do here with their own songs. If we don't advertise and appreciate our artists, no one will do it for us.

Samhay and luvmijeje both ve gd points and I agree wit u both. I knw nbd has given a crazy per4mance snce dis season begun like Geoffrey or christain did, but I think dey still ve tym yet for dat. D beauty lata will b in watching hw dey ve all grown from their former timid selves.
I still believe Christain was a rare breed. He was on probation almost every time and he still got to finals and won sth because he gave his all and delivered dope per4mances every tym.
Coming to season 8, I dnt ve much to say abt dat because I hated d way d season ended tho I'm glad Anderson didn't go home empty

This season, too many talented pple re in d academy. Different type of voices wit different strengths but d problem is none ve used up to 70% of wat I think dey ve to give. Even okiemute and kitay still ve alot to gv in terms of performances. If dey all loosen up and free dem selves, dis season ve d potential of bn 1 of d best yet

When I mentioned this earlier in this post some people were disagreeing telling me that this set is better or the best.

I just cast my mind back to Previous seasons. See, season 6 & 7 remains the best vocally for me. Immaculate, Nini, Olawale, Geoffery, Christian, Rukky, I mean!!! We have good voices this year too I wouldn't deny but they are still playing. The only ones who came for business are Kitay, Okiemute, Eli, Gabriel, Steve & Pere.

Like samhay or someone said, the standard has dropped and I think it's from this "Everybody on probation" thing & MTN doing anything 4 money. They used to be more disciplined and it kept the show hot.

Now I agree Praiz as a judge is not hard/good enough. I miss Adebantu. Among the judges, no one is really looking into their eyes and telling them the plain truth. They keep petting them. People like Oluchi & Winner would've woken up.

So the shows are usually recorded the day b4. Like elimination show is done on Friday but aired on Saturday while Nomination show is done on Saturday but aired on Sunday.

Mention Anderson now and compare him with someone this season or pearl.

As much as I loved Anderson and campaigned for him last yr, I knw he was nt all round excellent. He had prob wit his lower register, tho, he had vocal range. Take sbd dis season like pere dat has range too (tho I dnt knw if it's up to Anderson's) and d technical way he sings. His switch from low to high is really perfect. And his falsetto is superb
Secondly, pearl had a really gd voice and clean whistle pitch but she was pretty shaky performance-wise and it took her tym to loosen up if she ever did.
Let's look at okiemute who from d very beginning of her season ve bn itching to scatter d stage and did more in her second performance dan pearl did in the entire season performance-wise

And by the way, I hate the song given to Dapo this week. (Lil Kesh Is it because I love you) Not fair. They should've have given him a song that will actually showcase his voice.
Like even Yusuf was given a song that will bring out his voice & he was really singing during rehearsals yesterday I was happy 4 him. It'll be good if he will calm down and sing like that this weekend

True talk,when they gave him that song,i was singing the song in my head and thinking how Dapo will fit in,but you never can tell.

Exactly what I said about Kitay's performance last week. Praiz said (and I agree that) the song was a bad choice and some of you guys were displeased by this observation. Kitay did the rock song to the best of his ability but it was not amazing. Cos the song just couldn't bring out the best in him. If Dapo does this song his own way, those who don't know his true ability may not see the effort he put into it.

Song choice matters. It will be very interesting to see what he will do with this street song. I wish him best of luck.
