Before nkor?
You expect us the graduates and professional elites from the region to pick up arms?
What we have we have used in trying to preach justice to the region. Be honest, the FG will not listen.
I feel the criminals are not entirely wrong in their demands. The way i see it, both parties are bloody criminals here (FG/NDA).
Put them on a scale, the FG outweighs the NDA in criminality by a billion percent.
Like you said, this is my personal opinion and you need not even read it talk-less agree.

We? You realize I am also Niger Deltan from an Oil Producing Community and a host family too right?

So tell me what the demands are?

All I see when I attend youth meetings are people with no skill set who are extremely lazy with a grossly over inflated sense of entitlement making outrageous demands. I remember when Total Nigeria set up an overseas training programme for the Graduate youths. First thing the Community did was to start choosing biasly who should benefit. Then after that fight, the next was that Total would pay them salaries of 1 million Naira per month during the course of the training .. Needless to say the whole plan collapsed and never happened. Same thing happened to the World Class Glass Manufacturing company Total wanted to build in the OML 58 community. (Yes I said world class because Total even brought in Expats from France to replicate an existing French glass manufacturing company in the community). Did you hear about how pissed off the Group Head of Total was when he visted Obagi? The Man was shocked to see the state of a community that the company had spent over 500 Million Euros in CSR on in under 5 years..

Look, I am a professional as well. Well educated and I have so many friends from the Niger Delta who are just as learned and even more intelligent than me.. Alot of us have gone on to make something of ourselves. I remember when I tried using community influence to gain employment into Agip.. After all the fhuckery I witnessed, no be person tell me. O and those who eventually force their way into the company mostly end up in redundancy because they were never even suited for the Job in the first place.

My Brother, the region has been fhucked from all ends. But trust me when I say the bulk of the Niger Delta damage has been done by Niger Deltans themselves. I have worked 5 years in the Oil and gas industry and can share war stories that will make you laugh, cringe and weep. I remember one time when a Notice Doctor from one community entered into one of our offices and started cooking Juju in the office.. grin Just two weeks back, a Man claiming to be an ex - militant entered our office threatening everybody to blow up our site and our facilities if we didn't give him a certain contract. Mind you, the contract was given to the community and a man from his community currently handles the job because he had the expertise and his rates were good but here we are faced with another community member threatening us. I can tell you of several jobs where we have been forced to employ community people who never showed up to site but still got paid. Or the one where a community member was stealing from the company and we were threatened not to fire or arrest him. Or the one where a Waste disposal company owned by a community man was disposing industrial and chemical waste into the village swamp and pouring dispersal chemicals on the swamp to hide it and when he got found out by the Company, he told us to mind our business or move our operations out.

Bros leave matter for Matthias. You are Niger Deltan by purely the circumstances of your birth and not by your making. You and I may as well have been born to a community with no oil or natural reserve.

I support the total collapse of all Oil installations in the Niger Delta.. The Oil is a curse to us and not a blessing. The region has grown mentally lazy due to the dependence on this Oil. Nigeria will survive without oil, but I doubt the Niger Delta will...

Let us reason together.

The demands of the militants are on environmental degradation and infrstructure deficit right. Why cant the governors, senators, reps and state house of assembly make those demands and enact state laws.

Fayose signed antigrazing law and everybody clapped for him.
Lagos House of Assembly has halted exploration until a blueprint is agreed to tackle environmental degradation and infrastructure deficit 50yrs down the line.

Are the yorubas more educated than SS and SE? Why are they displaying sense like this.

Meanwhile, some clowns are carrying toy guns.
Now you are talking, I have said it time without number as we fight enemy afar we shouldn't forget enemy within which is our potbelly politicians.

1. “As a retired general, Mr. President is well aware of the serious and daunting challenges any military will face in its operations in the most difficult and densely populated Niger Delta region"

2. “The creeks are so heavily polluted with oil, rendering them highly inflammable. It will take the firing of a few high explosive shells to set the whole area on fire, resulting in the inestimable collateral damage among innocent civilians"

3. “It is also difficult to see how an armed conflict can secure our oil and gas assets in the region. Instead, it will aid the destructive activities of the militants and lead to the total shutdown of all oil and gas operations in the area.”

4. “Besides, the Niger Delta militants cannot be said to be terrorists in the real sense of the word"

A word is enough for the wise! But with the Daura man..... undecided

Don't be silly.
Which Senators?

In any case, if they wanted to vote on the house, the North already used states creation to give itself undue Veto power with more senators than the whole south combined. So they will still vote against any change in status quo which guarantees northern domination.

Whether it happens now or in the future, the structural imbalance of the federation must be addressed or else Nigeria will never know peace and could truly suddenly collapse under the weight of injustice in its structure and system

Let them be seen to try if they genuinely have their peoples interests at heart. When Scotland move to leave UK they knew it was an uphill battle, but they reached a middle ground.

The governors are content with looting the 13% derivation. Thats all.

Lagos house of assembly didnt take their own case to FG, they are willing to delay their own 13% derivation until those matters are addressed. Do you think they dont need money too?

So the govt should sit down and watch as these miscreants hold the country to ransome? They were given the chance to come to the table, but what did they do? They stepped up the bombing campaign and made boastful threats in twitter. Its only when they realised that Buhari was going to send in the army to obliterate them, they softened their stance. The window for dialogue and a peaceful resolution is still open but closing fast. I fear that if no headway is made on that front by weekend, we will have another war on our hands

Vietnam war is a wrong analogy, and i will tell you why.

In the 60s usa had not mastered counter insurgency. Rumsfeld used Nigeria in Somalia war and Iraq war to master his COIN war manual. Also usa had tropical weather to contend with. They lacked modern reconnaisance equipment like drones. Ultimately, they were far from home.

Bring it home. Nigerian army is just coming out of sambisa with fresh competencies in jungle warfare. Nigerian army is the strongest land army in africa, obasanjo only wickedly removed the top commanders who had experience in mogadishu and liberia but buratai is experienced.
I pity u if u still think we are the best land army grow up we av lost that glory to Egypt n are pushed to 5th position

My dear forget about me. I'm only trying to enlighten all those vagabonds goading buhari to nuke ND without the slightest idea of the implications! Even in the face of such economic crises, the East will be the least affected, in fact before we face starvation & deaths, the north would have become immersed in it. We have a huge diaspora population that would come handy with aid/remittances & a comparatively low poverty prevalence rate, added to our aggressive nature & communal self-help way of life. Dont cry for us dear, if we can survive 3 years of blockade by world powers during the war then economic crises in Nigeria wont affect us much!!

Retired Col. Abubakar Umar is a spent force and a known die hard supporter of IBB. It is therefore not a surprise that this sort of statement is emanating from him.

He is at Liberty to join the Niger Delta terrorists and get blown up to oblivion by the Gallant Nigeria Armed Forces.

You are saying nonsense
How old are you?
Horsesmouth:

You are saying rubbish.

Jonathan had the power to revoke oil licences and give SS people. However, they lack competencies and are not educated.
Jonathan could have built schools, but they dont want to go to school.

I know of several construction projects in SS that the community boys did not allow the workers do (first hand account). If a construction company doesnt take soldiers they cant build anything. If the construction company decides to use SS community boys as labourers they wont work and must get paid or they scatter the whole site.

If you build your personal house in warri community boys will beat your foreman and different sets will collect money everyday till you complete it. You will end up using 40m to build a 20m house.

Look those guys are their own problem, so let Buhari kuku kill all of them. I would like to go for a weekend in warri to check out the babes in peace and security. I would like to be able to club in warri till 3am like i do in lagos. That is development. Not this amnesty crap and enriching f*cking asari dokubo and tompolo to build uni in cotonou.

What mystifies me continously is that nobody is asking how the so called militants have access to highly sophisticated weapons to the extent of threatening the C-IN-C of a sovereign nation. That is treasonable no matter how we wish it off that they fighting a just cause. By the way I though a huge cache of military hardware were surrendered paving way for the amnesty granted them, how come they now have triple no of that which has now emboldened them to hold the country to ransom. It was all game plan, while our military were starved of weapons, GEJ the infamous Otueke hero was busying arming his Ijaws kinsmen. It us sad that while our soldiers were being decimated, the militants like Tompolo became defence contractors, buying warships and the likes. The worst is that those Nigerians cheering the criminal acts of these economic saboteurs are same accusing the PMB led government of not alleviating the plights of the masses when they need no rocket science to know that government revenue has plummeted no thanks to crash in oil prices n crippling of the economy by those they cheering.

You are making unguarded statements.

1. Jonathan armed the military, US refused to sell arms to Nigeria to fight Boko Haram, but he sourced for arms elsewhere. Leave him out of your rants.

2. Tompolo was engaged to secure oil installations. He did the job well without incident. Leave him out of your rants.

3. OPC also secures pipelines in SW are they criminals too. They bear arms are they criminals too?
