BIRTH STORY
On August 30th,i n dh took a long walk,got bak by 8:30pm,had my shower,by 11pm i noticed fluid coming out in small quanty,initially tot it was wee,wen it happened d 3rd time i realised it wasn't wee,by 1am,went 2d bathroom,wiped n saw fresh blood with very little mucus,mistook it 4 mucous plug,was so excited,hence dat post,rearranged my hospital bag,prayed n slept off,didn't want dh 2 panic so didn't tel him anything.

On 31st Mrng,wen i woke up,stood up 2go 2d bathroom,only 4me 2c fresh blood dropping,had my2 call dh 2com n c,dat day being my antinatal day,i went 2c my gynae,didn't even tel him anything,he said he will do a VE 4me 2c if av started dillating since am past my EDD,he did(very painful o) n immediately he brought out his fingers,dey were covered in fresh n cloted blood,he became very worriedi now told him of my experience last night,he shouted n said y didn't i come 2d hospital immediately He said placenta had detached ,hence d blood n dat amonic sack had ruptured,dat baby was at risk,He called dat d theatre b prepared immediately,had 2 call dh immediately.

Was prepared 4d theatre immediately,fetal monitor was strapped,baby's heartbeat was ok,but her activeness had reduced since i started leaking fluid n bleeding,wheeled in,2my shock in less than 10mins my angel was brought out n shown 2me while she screamed her lungs out,d sound of her cry was so melodious 2 me.Took another 40mins 2 clean n stitch me up,baby already passed stool(meconiun) in d womb,so was messy coupled with d blood n fluid.

2hours after surgery was already talking like a parrot,couldn't sleep all thru d night as i was so excited,next Mrng was on my feet n started eating,next day took my baby downstairs 4 immunization.

My dear pple,i can't seem 2 sleep dis days o,i just love 2 watch over my angel while she sleeps,pls is dis normal?

Wish all d waddling moms safe delivery,n a BFP 2my ATC sisters,Sept moms,we don handover 2una,swift delivery 2 u all.

My BS
Went for my 39th week appointment on Tuesday (23rd of Aug) and the ultrasound showed that my baby was already weighing 3.7kg. I was kinda worried cos my first was 4kg and I had a big cut.
Another thing, I had been having issues with my back, my lower right back. It was always 'locking", anytime I laid on my back, even a little. My last four doctor's appointments, everytime I laid on the exam table, I would be in pain and not be abIe to get up, I always needed the help of the doctor or a nurse to get up after a few mins. After the last appointment, the pain didn't go away even after I stood up. I started limping, sometimes it would feel like it was going away and then my back would just buckle suddenly, only God saved me from falling.
So I spoke to my doctor about an induction and he said fine, asked me to come back Friday night, at 39 weeks and 3 days.
Friday night came, I went to the hospital with DH, mum and DD (the hospital is only a street away from our house). The doctor did a VE, said I was 3cm dilated already but my cervix was still posterior. While doing the exam, he did a sweep and I was dilated to 4cm.
They gave me a room and an enema was done at about 9.40.
DH took my mum and DD back home and came back to the hospital.
At 10.10, the doctor came and inserted cytotec (I told him my experience with pitocin the first time and he promised to avoid using it as much as he could).
I started having mild contractions after that, they were between 3 amd 5 minutes. The contractions were not too strong, I could bear them easily. I was even dozing off intermittently.
Around 1or 2, the doctor came to check and he said the contractions were not strong enough, that maybe he would insert another tablet. He went to see some other patients, by the time he came to me again, the contractions had gotten stronger, so he decided to just leave me be.
I was still able to bear the contractions and i slept off.

At 6am, he came back and did a VE, said I was now 6cm dilated, in my mind I was like "latanaaa!" (since yesterday!) and wasn't too pleased cos he had promised me I would probably be done be 6am. He told me he would be back by 9, that I would be ready to push then. But after he left I started having painful contractions, very painful ones but I didn't scream. I had promised myself not to.
My bestie gave birth 2 weeks before me, said she was only groaning and I made up my mind to see if I could do without yelling too Lol (with my first, I'm sure they could hear me 10 houses away ).

After the doctor left, we agreed that DH should go home, check on my mum and DD (she's a handful), get a little rest and be back by 8 since he was awake all night.
The contractions were so so painful then, the midwife with me told me to be breathing through my mouth, that it would help. I listened and was breathing through my mouth during contractions.

A nurse came and asked me if I wanted to have my bath. At first I thought to myself, What is she talking about in this pain?

My lo is designing by belly with blow oh! In fact when I look at my belly when he's kicking, I see that part of my belly move but when I call dh to come and feel him move lo will just stop moving and as soon as he takes his hand off my belly, lo will start moving again. I just de laugh

Part 2.
Then I remembered I read some birth stories on babycenter where the women swore a hot bath moved things along. Either they went into labor after taking a hot bath or that it sped up labor. I sat on the closet while bathing, before I was done I had two very strong contractions that almost made me pull out my hair. When I was done, I stood up and my mucus plug fell out in a clump.
Immediately I got into the room, I called a nurse so they could clean it, as she walked into the room I had a very strong contraction and a strong urge to push. I knew it was go time and told the nurse to get the midwife and doctor. The nurse saw me grunt too and ushered me quickly into the labor room next door, I barely had time to change from the towel back to my hospital gown. I climbed on the labor bed and another strong contraction came, by then the doctor and midwife had rushed in, told me to calm down and not push o. That was when I started shouting, I'm not pushing o! Please help me!!! Before I could finish talking, another contraction came and I was told not hold back again and push. I felt the head slide out but I needed to push harder to get the rest of him out. That was when I screamed "Get him out of me" Lol. The rest of his body slid out as I was saying that. Oh the relief! I had a little tear at the old episiotomy site, my doctor was saying it was small enough to leave but he could stitch it if I wanted him to. Inside me, I was like, wetin this man dey talkI told him, Abeg stitch something! He laughed, apparently he just wanted to see my reaction when he said stitching it was optional. Alakoba

Everything happened so fast at the end. Had my bath a few minutes to 8 and he was out by 8.05am. The doctor called Dh to tell him baby was out already, he couldn't believe it, cos he just left and I didn't look like I was ready Lol.

Generally, I'm happy with how it went. It wasnt as stressful as my first, where I was screaming cos I was in so much pain, I was so tired I couldn't lift a finger when I was done. Then I started shivering, it was as if I was dipped in a tub of ice. My 2nd was a walk in the park in comparison.
I'm so grateful to God, I prayed for strength and a smooth delivery and He answered me, I serve a living God.

question 1) we are in the same boat o,but lots of pillows has been helpful. I sleep mostly on my right with two pillows to support my back, then one BTW my legs and realise they change position when either feels uncomfortable on whichever side I lie on. Pls do not sleep on your back; my gynae told me specific ally not to.

Question 2: there is this twin Graco cot I got as a gift, will try upload but I feel they will outgrow it quickly, but would be useful in d first few months.

@ Favouredmum; after typing epistle, post refused to upload o and to type is war as I av this bad wrist pain.

Let me see if it will while I attempt question 3.

I personally have lost count as regards the number of scans I have had but I am scheduled for another one at 34 weeks too. Am also a FTM so I am not really experienced dear. Sorry about the sleeping discomfort. May God see you through. Plenty hugs.

I no too sabi sha, but we were told at ANC to avoid sleeping on our backs, as it could lead to ur LO resting on a nerve which could lead to a lot of pains and discomfort.

@ dexterush now that you are here welcome back and pls before you disappear again I have a couple of questions for you

1. Pls how were you sleeping at night when you were pregnant with your twins? My presenting twin lies to my left and you know dr Google advises us to sleep on our left. Anytime I try to lie on my left, my LO kicks furiously as if to say I'm disturbing. My right side is a No No as that one is more jealous than jealousy. I'm forced to sleep on my back and raise my legs with a pillow which causes severe back ache on some nights. Pls advise me

2. Also do your twins sleep on the same bed with you and DH? Or did you have to buy two seperate cots. I've bought one for now and I'm thinking they can share or DH helps me seperate it. I really don't know yet what I'll do. I need your input pls

3. How many scans did you do during your pregnancy? Was it recommended by your doctor or you just decided to check their respective weights on your own? My OB has scheduled me for scans at 28 and 34 weeks to see their weights and then know what to do as per delivery. Would the scans be sufficient? Pls I'm a FTM hence all these my questions and I can't ask anyone around me as no one knows I'm carrying twins except DH and doctor

@ twogreatnations thanks mama. I've saved your post, it's really helpful. Most internet searches don't really explain how women carrying multiples can be comfortable. They just tell you as a general rule not to sleep on your left which in some cases like this, is not really feasible. God will see us through.

I'll keep trying the left and right sides with the pillows like you suggested. Hopefully they pity me and let me get some sleep tonight, thank you

thanks to all dat responded to my pulsating ear issue, nw I know it's not only me. jazzyjazz my lo does same, when I place dh hand on d site d kick is coming from, it goes quiet, dh will say baby doesn't like him, he doesn't want to play with him. I will just laugh and say baby is shy.

Congrats pintoxx. From your experience and others I think I will rather go to the hospital early and have them send me back than wait once I see or feel anything.

1, most times I sleep in the sitting room,DH had to buy this chair that slides backward,so that was where we sleep most times when the discomfort comes. But if I must sleep on the bed,I do with my left,not so comfortable though,but you can turn to the right at intervals and then switch back to the left.
2, I got two cot for them cos they can like to turn,but before the cot arrived they were sleeping on our bed,but I had to chase DH to the other room,cos I can't collect sorry. I will also advise you get separate cot for them cos as the grow bigger,they will need the space so they don't bump into each other.
3, My doctor sent me to do four, but I did like six unto shacking things
