Imagine! The last time he played for the Eagles was November 2014. That's almost two years. we are in September 2016. The last time he played for his club was May 2016, yet you want him near Super Eagles.

If we invite Aluko, it is justified. Aluko is playing REGULARLY for his club. You cannot even compare the two of them. I repeat: Let Juwon go another club and prove himself before we invite him. Is that asking for too much?

He is not playing for Super Eagles because we chose not to call him. If we chose not to call Musa Mohammed, he will bear the same tag.

Just like Musa Mohammed, let us judge Oshaniwa if he is good enough.

Yes, if there is a possibility of the player being good. In the game against Tanzania, Mikel, Onazi and Musa Mohammed did well. These were guys not long ago were made to look as if they were poor by the coaches in our club.

Unless you are saying we should have dropped Mikel when Mourinho dropped him.

You keep bringing up Mikel. For how many months did Mikel not play? Mikel was not in the first team but he was coming in as subs infrequently. It's part of match fitness.

Onazi was also coming on as subs after he was dropped from the first team.

Musa Mohammed came in to the U23 camp as a result of the porous defence of the Olympic team. He did well. Siasia wanted to take him, the club refused. He had match fitness.

I don't understand your argument. Do we have a porous defence in the Super Eagles? Juwon has not played for his club since May. He did not play the club's summer friendly games. He has not played the Scottish league games. He has not played the Europa League games. He has not even played the Scottish cup match. So on what basis should we call him? Because you like him?

I look at Musa Mohammed and i'm like "wat is the deal?" the boy is obviously a strong player, definately a european top 4 league player, and so why is he still on the bench in Turkey? I am completely baffled by the treatment of our players in Europe. Leon Balogun>John Stones but yet we get no offers, its like nobody even watched Ekong at the olympics not even Gent his club who didn't even bring him back from loan in Norway.

It's unbelievable. That's why we needed these players to have qualified for the AFCON. We need them to qualify for the World Cup. Many many scouts come to those tournaments.

Why I keep bringing up Mikel was that you can be good. Very good but the coaches choose not to use you. Mikel went over a season and a half without playing regularly. Sometimes, not as a Sub.

Onazi over a season.

When it comes to teams, it is not about if you have a porous defence or a strong attack. It is about, can we be stronger.

Mikel did well in the ten role from the Olympics to this Tanzania match. That does not mean it is settled. The competition has to go on and we have to continue trying to get stronger.

Mikel is doing well. His slickness is good. That does not mean we should not try to see if we will be stronger with Aluko behind the attack and Mikel in central midfield.

Our defence is not porous but can we be stronger? I believe so. If, note if Oshaniwa can make us stronger, it will be wrong of us not to try.

How can we try? By inviting him to camp. Manchester City had Adebayo, Bellamy, Tevez and Petrov.

That did not stop Mancini from signing Aguero, Dzeko, Silva and Nasri.

You keep building and not say are we porous?

VERY FUNNY......
An inspirational speaker once said " The best days in my life were the days I spent with another man's wife".

Audience were in shock and silence. He added: "and she is my mother".
And a big round of applause and laughter followed.
One of the men who listened to the speech decided to crack it at home.
After dinner, he said to his wife: the best days in my life were the days I spent with another man's wife.....

After a second he tried to recall the second line....
By the time he regained his senses, he was on hospital bed, recovering from burns of hot water poured by his wife.

The bolded makes as much sense as saying that our defence can be stronger so let's invite Ismail Yakubu, a defender who plays for Newport County A.F.C. or Magnus Okuonghae, a defender who plays for Luton Town, or Bobsam Elejiko, another defender.

Or our midfield can be better so let's invite Dickson Etuhu, Stephen Sunday, or Marvin Ogunjimi.

Or our attack can be better so let's invite Obafemi Martins, Shola Ameobi, or Victor Anichebe.

So I ask you: Is the Nigerian Super Eagles a free for all? How can we invite people except on merit?

Juwon has not played for four months now yet you want us to call him. Is the Super Eagles a rehabilitation centre?

Bro, I don't understand you.

Oshaniwa displaced Echiejile in the National team. Oshaniwa played better than Echiejile in the National team.

So there is a possibility he can play better than Echiejile if given his fair chance to prove himself.

If he can play better, our defence will be stronger.

Oh my! That was in 2014...I repeat 2014. We are in 2016. We cannot use the performance of 2014 to invite a player in 2016.

I don't know how else to explain this to you.

It should always be easier for our young players to make the jump. For starters we have better access to them, we don't have to invite 50 players when we can just grab the best from our youth team.

Age should not just be the line but the best available. Especially those who can give five to seven years.

Also, there should not be a reoccurring full camp. This imbalance happens due to frequent change of coaches.

I am not much a fan of Keshi's tactics but I saw him going somewhere.

When he played Onazi at a right back, Onazi was amazing. Keshi's Saco stopped that.

Aluko was slowly breaking into the the team. Same as Hope Akpan. The sack stopped this.

A coach should try all the best candidates. Whether young or old. From watching their old matches to current matches. Selecting the recent players who did well for the team. The promising youngsters and local players.

Screen them and know his best players. Once in a while, he screens again to make sure he is with the very best. Only the best in each role.

Stones made a lot of mistakes at Everton. There was a point he lost his place in the team due to his mistakes.

However, Under Guardiola, he is encouraged to play that way. Due to the compact nature of our play, his mistakes reduced and Stones Is looking a different player.

In one of our games this season, Stones Won the man of the match and had a 92% pass completion rate. He was one of the passers in our team.

Stones handles the ball better than Balogun (although Balogun is also brilliant on the ball). He is a better passer and his movement of the ball is better.

Balogun is a gifted tackler but our system does not require much tackling but ball handling. Guardiola also improved his defending skills and he is top quality now.

We questioned if Stones was worth any thing close to £47.5 Millon. Now it is not a debate.

In 2014, he showed he was better than Echiejile. In 2016 we should check if he is still better.

If he is not better, drop him. If he is better play him.

I disagree only the top performing older players should be given a shout. The other spots belong to the younger ones. By selecting Musa the coach has given hope to all Nigerian players, that they too can make the jump.

U gave no real reason, if Stones was Nigerian he would be playing for Newcastle or backing up Ambrose in Celtic. He would have never been given another chance let alone be sold for such an amount.

There is a reason why Stones played for a coach who liked the highline and ball holding game. Martinez and now Guardiola.

His quality on the ball is what makes him better than others.

At the last World Cup, one of the best defenders of the competition was Yepes of Columbia and he was 37 years old. Imagine dropping such quality for a youngster who will not perform close to him.

It should be the best, especially with respect to the World Cup.

i agree with goodjoe that oshaniwa deserves a look in. if not for anything but his performance in the world cup in brazil two years ago where he was one of our better defenders i think he is owed a fair crack of the whip. i'm not saying he should be in our starting xi but he should given a chance to prove himself.

that he hasn't been playing since may shouldn't be used to not call him because if musa mohammed who outside the national team has barely played competitive club football for almost a year can be invited then i don't see the controversy in bringing back juwon.

besides it's not like we have a plethora of outstanding leftbacks at the moment so juwon would only guarantee more competition for places.

zambia looks beatable at home but make no mistakes about it they will be tough to crack as our previous games against them have shown. from their failed AFCON qualifying campaign they are not prolific scorers but they are draw specialists meaning they are ready to fustrate any attacking setup. we will have to be sharp in attack on the day.

question for the house. who do you guys reckon should lead the line against the zambians? as good as kelechi is i wouldn't want us to pressure him by making him lead the line. i think he functions best an attacking midfielder or supporting striker.

i fairly optimistic that we can qualify out of our world cup qualifying group. 4 wins and 2 draws should do it.

My point is clear and no matter what you say, the point remains.

I did not say Oshaniwa must play. I said, he deserves a fair chance to prove himself. It is so simple. I did not say Rohr should play him. Rohr should check if he is the better option.

The question is, is there a possibility Oshaniwa will be better?

The answer is yes, because he performed better than Echiejile and displaced Echiejile.

He did not fail and was not given a fair chance to continue.

So, saying Echiejile did well does not add to the point. I already pointed out that, it is about us fielding our best team. I do not know how to explain this again.

IT IS ABOUT FIELDING OUR BEST TEAM.

So liking Echiejile's performance does not mean that is our limit or the best we can do.
