Who made you the judge, juror and executioner of this girl? Her convictions have nothing to do with you. Your prejudice is causing you to doubt her intentions, which is not your business.

So exams cannot be written without head covering? This student's conduct is quite suspicious and it merits further investigation. Going without her covering for a mere two hours simply to finish writing her paper in compliance with the exam dress code, should not be a problem unless mischief is at work.

I know for a fact that anything that can be used to hide expos is frowned upon in exam halls. Male students aren't allowed to wear hats.

Candidates can take exams with hijab, says WAEC

By iWN Editor - September 6, 2016 82 0

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said that candidates who put on the hijab are not prevented from taking any of its examinations.

This was contained in a statement by the Head, Public Affairs, WAEC Nigeria, Mr Demianus Ojijeogu, on Monday.

In the statement, Ojijeogu noted that the council does not prevent candidates from taking the examination with their hijab.

The statement reads: “The Council wishes to state that no attempt has ever been made to prevent female Muslim candidates from wearing hijab to sit for its examinations.

“It has always been the practice of the Council to allow all female Muslim candidates, who wishes to register for the WASSCE, wearing hijab, to do so.

“If we can allow them to register for the WASSCE wearing hijab, how can we prevent them from writing the examination in that same attire?

“We just concluded the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2016 that had over one million candidates and there was no such report of a female Muslim candidate being prevented from writing the examination because she was wearing hijab.

“The Council wishes to reassure all its stakeholders that it respects the fundamental right to freedom of religion of every citizen and will not do anything to infringe on such.”

It will be recalled that Miss Khadijat Eniola Anisere was allegedly assaulted by WAEC female supervisor at Egan Grammar School, Igando, Lagos for putting on the hijab on Friday.

The incident occurred while candidates were taking Biology last Friday between 9.30am and 12 noon.

The WAEC sent a delegation to investigate the allegation of an assault on a hijab-wearing candidate on Monday.

Are you comparing a tenet of faith to a hat? Guy get in touch with reality! If you study history you would know that religious convictions preceeds state secular laws. If you cant distinguish the secular and the sacred then you wil have a conflict.

So is the hijab more important than her examination; if she seems to prefer her hijab; people can use that as a means to hide materials; the supervisor on the other hand is very wrong especially if she is a christian; she is supposed to show respect for the muslim religion; Jesus did not teach us to be at war with non-christians but at peace with them. Provided the girl was not cheating; she is not supposed to be cruel to the girl.

Yes hijab is more important than her exam to any good Muslim who knows what he's doing and wearing it doesn't mean cheating its for caring her maturity please wise up

In my opinion, he should have asked her to choose between the examination and wearing an attire that interferes with smooth running of the examination, just to give her a chance. In his shoes though, I don't think I will allow that. Garments that can conceal suspicious materials are not encouraged. We witnessed even tertiary institutions take examinations in singlets and underwears and aside from general murmurs, no special attention was sought. Does that mean the religion of those affected encourage Nudity?

Religion and Western Education ought not to conflict.

Why do they even need the identity of the supervisor sef? These people keep making themselves suspicious.
Pls tell me a single verse in the bible where jesus says women should dress naked.

Ur stupidity is so much that when u spew out farts of a donkey through ur gutter, u think everyone must agree it is not off track. With the way some of u idiot reason, I'm gradually getting convinced that evolution is gradually being reversed otherwise, how will a human being even be thinking clothedness is inferior to nudity? Anyway, I'm not surprised cos the monkey is by far better than majority of u.

I am disappointed that a young lady could accuse a supervisor of assault. She should be expelled for wearing hijab to Examination hall. And when she was filling Waec exam form online, did she attached a picture with hijab? I am sure if she did, waec would have rejected her application.

Haha so you think in a fully secular society pastors liie those in Nigeria would be allowed to get fat on tithes from the congregtation; buying planes and sh!t? A church would be seen like any other private instutution without discrimination and taxed premiums. But because faith precedes secular laws, there are exemptions.

Thats why the church is the worlds biggest tax haven; a loophole for tax dodgers and money launderers.
