Please share the docs you submitted.

Thank you. I'm going for research based LLM at Dalhousie University.
I submitted the following documents :

the necessary CIC application forms
Letter of funding from school
Bank statement from my sponsor
Admission letter from school
Letter of sponsorship from my sponsor
Introduction Letter from my sponsor 's place of work
My employment letter
Pay slips for 6 months
Letter of introduction from my place of work
Application letter

I did upfront medical, submitted my passport upfront as well but was asked to get another passport since the old one would expire next year.

God just helped me, that's the bottom line. It is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth. All the glory to God for his faithfulness!

Are you still at MUN?
Maybe you can help me do something there.

Sorry Iwas off Nairaland since yesterday. I sincerely do not know of any other cheaper university. But you can try Manitoba and see if it is also cheap. Go to google type cheap universities in Canada. then begin to assess one by one.

...Ok so I'll be submitting my sponsors sal acct. she usually has a monthly inflow of 800k-1.2m. In Jan, she had over 10m in her acct but has since then not had up to dat except about 2-3months ago when she had about 3-4m in her account.

My qtn now is, if she puts in 10-15m in her account, will this seem like Lodgment to d VO? Or will this be fine based on her monthly inflow?
She should explain the source of recent deposit if it is recent and significantly larger than her previous deposit transactions. So if for instance she got the money from sale of property, she could mention it and include the receipt. Having said this, it also depends on the VO. Some VOs might not mind that it was a sudden deposit, but I'd rather play it safe and explain.
Chrissybaybee:
Secondly, she wants to transfer about 3m to my account and explain in her sponsorship letter that this is to aid my transportation to Canada as well as my accommodation while in Canada. Mind you, my account has not really been active, never had such amount in it. Will this be a good idea? My program is for one year.
This is completely fine, and is a wise decision. It may also help if you mention this transfer (and its purpose) in your SOP or a brief "Explanation of Finances" writeup that you attach to your application; sometimes it helps to strategically repeat certain information multiple times in your application.

I love this forum. Very cool people.
Meanwhile I graduated with a 4.23 in Elect/Elect Engineering and about 8 years oil and gas/engineering experience. I applied for MEng in Uregina (Electrical) and UNB (Electronic) for winter 2017. Have been recommended by Uregina for admission but no news from UNB. I feel Uregina have better prestige and is in a better location in terms of job opportunities but I will start my visa application with the 1st admission letter I get. Just being curious if the saved lean money I have for sponsorship will be ruined by the increased Nigeria/Canada exchange rate

I have a 2nd question people.
Strange question I must confess.
I have a BEng with 4.2cgpa, a MEng with 4.0 cgpa and 8years of Engineering experience but I applied for a MEng in Uregina (Reason being that my Masters programme in Nigeria was still in progress during my Canada application so I decided not to include just in case I end up abandoning the masters but somehow I managed to finish the Master program).
My question is can I switch over to a PhD program when I get to Uregina with a MEng admission?

I don't think you can just switch to PhD program without applying for it. The best bet is to make inquiry from the school

sorry michV about your application, I believe it is because you program was pgd. it is obvious vo don't value pgd much and finds it difficult to believe that your mum will commit the required fund on your pgd study based on the closing balance. A master program will have sailed through because they attach more value and believe it is worth it even if your mum spend all her earnings and savings for it. Change to master and your will be fine or let your mum increase the closing balance to over 10m
Some VO's are inhuman, It really doesn't matter if it is pgd or Masters. I am in dsame shoe as MichV. Applied with three accounts from my sponsor 19m cash flow ( Balance of 7m) , £50k and £10k plus a Treasury bill investment of 8.7m maturing this sept. My sponsor is my sister, proved our blood relationship. She gave me 3 months payslip averaging £10k+ . I applied for masters. And they still refused me based on insufficient funds.

Thank you sir. Please I was notified that you sent me an email but couldn't see it in my box. Can you re-send it based on the information requested? Thanks. English language and literature PhD fully funded. Thanks again.
thesoj:
Lots of PhD programs in the US* and Canada fully fund (tuition plus monthly stipend) PhD students. Start your research and start emailing professors at schools (both top ranked schools and average ranked schools) in these countries; your email has to be very strategic**. Generally, science & engineering programs are usually more likely to fully fund their PhD students but many (most?) schools also fully fund PhD students in the humanities. I have a friend who did a PhD in literature and she was fully funded for all 5-6 years. You should be able to get full or almost full funding, without needing much from a "sponsor". But you gotta play your cards right and apply to the right schools.

*Considering the US means you'll have to take the GRE and maybe TOEFL, and do very well at both. If you don't want to take these tests, then only focus on Canada. Do keep in mind that exploring the US too provides you with a much wider palette of options (particularly if you can't find funding options in Canada).
**You might wanna consider identifying what topic(s) you would be interested in researching, see this link. Also, spend a lot of time on Google researching admissions and funding for literature PhD programs in Canada (and/or the US).
