Hi Tolulope! I used Dr. W.F. too. For the Hosp, pre-payment was done over the phone after i had pre-registered. To pre-register you have to do that online. Google the Hosp's name and surf around it, you'll find where to pre-register;while i paid the Dr. at his office by swiping my card.

I hope this helps.

This is a dicey situation. I sympathize with you in regards to the abuse but since you misrepresented at the POE you may have issues at your next visit. From what I read in your post, you had already planned to give birth in the U.S due to the situation with your spouse. This is my opinion though. Since you're here already, please endeavor to pay all your bills and keep your receipts for future visits.I wish you all the best and I pray that things will eventually work out between you and your spouse. Cheers!

Yes it's domestic violence, which is why I fleed in the first place,I am just worried I didn't declare birthing baby at the POE,either ways 39weeks still fall into December, but can I stay that long till march that I was stamped in?would I be allowed into the us again?

Claim asylum, do you have evidence (pictures, police report, doc report, etc) of the battery? You will need to prove ur life is in danger and if u step into 9ja d man will hunt you and make your life miserable.

If your hubby was a us citizen, u could av applied for domestic violence green card

Good luck

That will not help her situation and probably will not work.

If she can afford to birth in US and pay her bills great then return to her parents to care for the baby and not go back to the abusive hubby.

I was painting worst case scenario... Also what if the man is a maniac and stalk her to her parents... Did u read the story of the Ilorin case where the abusive lover stalked the mtn worker babe, stabbed her to death in front of her mother and also stabbed the mother who survived to tell the tale?

Or what if he comes to kidnap the baby, or makes her life a living hell...

I don't know how bad the situation is... But worst comes to the worst, claiming asylum to save her life, if she had proof that the man tried to strangle her or cause grievous bodily harm to her and the unborn child.

I just de talk my own. I spend too much time watching C&I and NL front-page, I've decided to live in a bubble.

I agree with your position. The grounds wherein the US grants asylum are race, religion, and nationality , political grounds and gender.
When you come to that gender ground, its mostly on grounds of female genital mutilation and other harmful practices against women. Granting asylum for domestic abuse of foreign nationals is rare and in my opinion would set a dangerous precedent. The victim has a choice to leave or report to her local authority. Nigerian law makes provision for prosecution of wife abusers.
I think canada is more lenient on that grounds
To the op, Ada biko eh marriage is not by force. I don't know what you are going through but if you are truly afraid for your life, carry your bag, leave. Lodge a petition with the police. That should serve as a deterrent to stalking and further unsavour acts, hopefully. 'Mrs' na title only o.

And get a restraining order as well. The husband should also sign undertaking that he will not stalk her , let alone lay a finger on her. I don't know the trips a man gets by abusing a pregnant woman. I just read on frontpage how a man exhibited maturity in handling provocation from Hus wife. He doesn't have 2 heads o!

I'm angry sef. My husband told me of how his colleague got her legs broken by her husband. It's so bad that it's iron that they used to support the bones. Maka whyyyyyyyy

Iron? Break leg? Was he beating thief?! Chineke nna God! Tomoro that Mrs will still go back.
Oscar pistorius kill em girlfriend, shebi he's still alive with his money?
That man killed his ecobank wife. He was sentenced to death but he's presently appealing. End point? He's still alive with an opportunity to repent ist.
Dead na dead o! No do overs or spare parts. I never understand these things. How one can be seeing leg breaking and face slapping and still remain. Ok!

Good day dear NLs,
This is indeed a great forum with people of a very deep wealth of knowledge and experience. To all that have kept this thread alive and informative, God bless u all abundantly and may your fountain of knowledge never run dry IJMN.Amen!

I am presently in Houston now still expecting my baby by the special grace of God.I will definitely come back here to give back and share my testimony but for now I need urgent info.

DH is with me but will be returning to Naija in about 12days from now. Now, since the baby is yet to land (lol),and DH will b going back soon, how can we get some of the baby's documents that involves him signing so that we don't hv to wait till baby comes b4 doing all that. And besides my concern has been what if baby comes after he might hv left?God forbid sha.I really want him and pray that he will there on d day of delivery....Someone in the house should please enlighten us.

NB:I will also appreciate other document procedures, fees and length of time each individual doc takes eg birth cert, SSN, passport, Visa etc.

Also a friend of mine mentioned using Tanko or Eddy for the Nigerian Visa and going tru this thread, their names keep coming up especially Tanko, can someone pls help wt his number as well?Let me establish a connection with him b4 LO arrives as I can see from wat hv read on this thread that he's a very sought-after agent.

Lastly,we are using Dr E of Oakbend Medical Centre here in Houton. We hv paid her bills but yet to balance the hospital bills (already paid half) and baby shd be due anytime from now. My question is this;is there anyway to go into a payment plan with the hospital after delivery or the balance has to be paid b4 delivery as we intend to balance up after delivery (we really don't intend running away wt their money as we know better how this will jeopardise future visa renewal and entry into the US).
Will the baby be attended to if we haven't balanced the hospital bills as at wen baby was born? It's my first time having a baby in the US.

I apologise for a lengthy post.....I really need answers and clarifications as am deeply disturbed with the concerns raised above.

Permit me to disagree with u. There is no reason on God's green earth that should make a man raise his hand against his wife except self defence. Yes. Some women have karate skills.
Na them get rage pass? If God dealt with everybody with rage in reaction to all our over do, earth would be a wasteland now.
Jesus sef wen dem spit on, did he call thunder to fire them? Mba! He forgave.
Who sets the standard for rage? If my husband has a short fuse and I step on his toes and he gets enraged then its ok for him to pummel me? All na rage and to him he's justified. Biko there is no justification.
I rest my case o

everyone is entitled to their own opinion o but my own opinion is a man shouldn't beat a woman in anyway, my first relationship was an abusive one nobody told me before I waka comot and we were supposed to get married up till today I give thanks to God that I didn't marry that idiot o he for don kill me since, he had no chills at all he can daze you anywhere regardless, men and women aren't built and wired same way so a man shouldn't hit a woman, may God help us all

I didn't say any man should beat any woman and I didn't say any woman shld stay in an abusive relationship/marriage.I don't know why a woman wld spit right in her husband's face, and if she was the one that was done to,hell wld be let loose.Treat others the way you would want to be treated,if they don't/can't treat u same nobody tie anybody rope.

I think it's been mentioned in this thread several times. However why don't you use the visa for its intended purpose which is 'vacation'. There's been lots of stories about change of intent letter.
Please anyone that got a visa for vacation should use it for the said purpose before changing intent. Just to be on the safe side. This is my opinion, pls feel free to disagree. wink
