At first, I was discouraged but with determination, I scaled through.
If you've purposed to exclusively breastfeed, you need to be patient. 0p
Bm supplies in proportion to demand. Keep feeding till lo sucks emptied as much as possible. You can also use breastfeeding pills to boost production.
As for the sore ni.pples, rub it with coconut oil before and after nursing. Don't clean/scrub your nipples before or after nursing. The milk on the nipp.es will cure the soreness. Just clean your nipp.es during your bath routine morning and night. You can Google on that

My advice still is don't worry urself, jst stay + on dis. In Nig, dy give rhogam after birth but outside like UK etc, dy give twice at 28wks and after birth.

My last mc was caused by IC which was detected dis year durin my scan at 15wks. Already funneling nd opening which is y I got cerclage but in Nigeria den, d doctor concluded it might av b Blood group which I didnt believe. Put ur mind at rest because u don't need stress wt the pregnancy. Please, calm down.

I only speak to my baby to hear the word of d Lord that our blood will not mix 2geda during pregnancy. I will carry him to full term. As d spirit leads sometimes d thoughts come.

Yes, it is safe. It has caffeine but a very very low caffeine content, that is safe for consumption. But limit your intake to one a day, just to be safer.

Confirm from your doc though, just incase your system should not accomdate it.

so the nurse asked her to go and call her relatives she went home.
To eight i started feeling little pain and the nurse came to check me and said i was 10cm dilated, she decided to break my water,after breaking the water she checked my babys heartbeat and she shouted. she said she did not hear anything she called my hubby and she checked again so she told my hubby that my baby was already dead that she did not hear the heartbeat. i was already crying and my hubby was asking the nurse the next step and she said we are going to deliver the baby but its going to be hard since the baby is no longer moving. that that is why my labour stopped progressing since that i was supposed to have deliver since.

i picked some things from your story!we certainly still have a loooonnnggg way to go in Nigeria with medical practice, somehow we also don't seem to have many nurses on this our thread maybe our experiences would have touched them into changing and upgrading their behaviour *rolls eyes* generally.

How can someone walk in with water broken and obviously having a preterm baby and the nurse/hospital will let her go home

Secondly you didn't mention the presence of any Drs during your delivery! What would have happened in an emergency? Dr was to come in early in the morning for a CS, Labour could suddenly progress faster now! Not throwing shades but there's a reason that nursing is different from a medical degree now.....Chai Nigerian medics should step up now

Thirdly look at the way she said baby was no more! Just like that? No tact nothing.

I had my first two children in Lagos and i'm grateful for the team that delivered them, they really were professional

The secret to my stew which i enjoy alot.... i o. Lol

I use small tomato, just enough,
plenty ata rodo (omo yoruba ni mi o... swaga) lol
Small shombo - thst pepper thst looks like tatashe... gives it aroma to die 4.
Small tatashe- if i like or non at all cos shombo does d same job
Plenty, i repeat plenty onion. Like 3 balls. .. 2 grinded one chopped or sliced.

Then i grind all this with blender at home. .. not smoothly but not too rough either ... i dont use public engine becos they dont wash well n add engine oil to the food.


Next, i bring to boil by adding a salt .... just enough. Boil till dry... no water again.

Then my meat or fish or whatever is boiled n fried a little.... not fried dry.... just enough esp meat.

Then i bring my oil to fry in a seperate pot, add onion for aroma n taste...... pour my toma,pep,shombo,onion.... stir a bit.
Add my seasoning. ... curry, tyme, white pepper , knorr n tiny salt if any becos my grinded mixture was salted.
When it stirs n fries a bit, i add my stock....n meat or fish. Cover n bring to boil till ok.

It comes out alive n red. Has body.
When boiling ya meat... u can put enough spice.... then be careful when putting final spice during cooking... sometimes i dont put again sef.
And i avoid using my fried oil to cook stew..... i keep that in a private place for continuos frying n moi moi.... or to give indomie n d likes more taste. ....
The chopped onion is added just b4 i turn off the heat.

Mamas please add or subtract lemme learn too.

I am not a garlic or ginger fan.

I use pretty much the same method but the constituency of the pepper isn't always the same. That for me helps to vary the taste of the stew.

I'm also drifting away from using much maggi/knorr and moving instead towards only salt,garlic, ginger and natural spices like basil, parsley, coriander etc etc Needless to say the taste/flavours requires some getting used to

On the food thread one poster says he starts off boiling pepper and then adds his raw meat and he swears* by the taste! I haven't tried that but i may in the near future.

What i typically do is when boiling meat or poultry once it turns brown or steams a bit i add the pepper and leave it to cook. With poultry i don't add more oil with beef i add a few spoons of oil!

I did it in Qatar- just part of regular pregnancy checkup. I am not sure but maybe dy call it titer test in Nig. you can contact a lab(reliable ones) and tell them u want to do antibodies rhesus test- or ur doctor can recommend where to get it done -just to put ur mind at rest.

My wife isnt producing enough milk n d guy doesnt want to suck n as such goes into hypoglycemia. Pls what should my wife do 2 produce enough breast milk? Help a distressed father. First time father as well.

The thing is i didnt get a rhogam shot when i had the miscarriage cuz i didnt know my blood group then.i didnt also know i was pregnant, just that my period came about 5days late that month and wouldnt stop after the usual 4days, on the 9th day we became worried and went to see a doctor who ran a pregnancy test that came out positive. She called it a missed miscarriage or something like that. I continued bleeding for about 14days during which i passed the tissue. Wen d bleeding stopped i did a scan that showed there were no retained products. The doc didnt say anyti about blood type and me too i didnt know mine then. Nw i'm pregnant again, 25wks gone. No issues at all so far but i'm just worried about baby's well being. Tho my doc has said he doubts if i'm iso immunized and should just relax till i'm 30wk. Bt i'm too worried i cant kip calm. What if m already iso immunized? Doc cant just know by guessing and what if sometin goes wrong before 30wks? God forbid.
Dont know the next step to take, thats why i'm asking here.

Keep putting the baby to breast especially when he isn't too agitated or hungry. The tips will be sore ofcourse even when milk starts to flow, it will still be very sore and crackly, you just have to woman up about it.
Make sure baby is latching on right, rest very well, drink lots of fluid. You can massage the breast with ori and metholatum.

Fenugreek, moringa, uda pepper soup, plenty water, plenty rest all have proven to help with milk flow.

Put your mind at ease if you are stressed your body won't produce. For the sore nipple apply Lansinoh cream to it, Breastmilk applied to the nipple helps too.
