According to a guy I spoke with recently, he said a lot of guys (including him) see no reason why a girl should feel bad or hurt whenever a guy dumps her or end up not marrying her. Since dating a girl is not a guaranty you'd marry her at the end. He said most guys date girls for fun, for the experience or for sex. And when the relationship ends, life goes on for him. No girl should cry or get herself worked up whenever a relationship doesn't end in marriage for her. Since the guy didnt sign any agreement with her, that he'd marry her. When it doesnt turn out that way for you, simply move on rather than start saying he used you or broke his promises to you. Becos maybe to the guy, it was nothing but a game. Dont know if every guy shares the same opinion with him. Cos as for me, I don't!

This is the type of silly mentality the Op is talking about. Asking a girl out is not the same as asking her to marry you. They are entirely different from one another.

The guy could have asked her out with good intentions but later found out that she had some characters he couldn't cope with. Since he is not legally bound to marry her, he may decide to quit the relationship rather than suffer pain the rest of his life.
