TPAND:
How come 2 of our most useless assets that has produced nothing good for this country are not listed

1. Aso Rock - Worth $10billion
2. National Assembly - worth $15billion

These two assets should be placed on sale ASAP

In as much as i dont Like this news..... Its the best option right now. Instead of paying to maintain these assets liabilities, why not just sell them and gain taxes, royalties from them.... Nonetheless, the money can be channeled to other things thereby easing the scourge of this recession we find ourselves.

I know it is still these corrupt politicians that will by them ooo but its a good initiative. I give kudos to FG on this...vy

Anyway.....

nlng should not be sold, that one is running very well, government interference is not much, but others should be sold please, which community owns NNPC or the refineries? no one can lay claims to those, all oil mining community or individuals should get royalties directly from the oil companies just like in the US that will safe guard the oil installations across the country, but Government should please, do not sell this asest like PHCN people who will get bank loans with no collateral to buy government assest and will use the assest as the collateral, that's fraud nothing else, and that's why We are suffering from estimated Bill.

If the country no get money, who come get money to buy am?

Olajumoke Orisaguna's house to advise the former bread seller to desist from exposing her boobs like Cossy Orjiako and Maheeda as that will reduce the respect Nigerians have for her.

Thank me later

Outsource Nigeria leadership to Asians or Europeans and watch them revive and build this country to world class standards even with $10 per barrel of oil.
Our problem is not money but lack of leadership.

We should not get too sentimental about this so called National Assets, i would rather view them as business enterprises, fact be told this asset may begin to depreciate in value with the force for renewable energy blowing across Europe, Americas, Asia. We may find out that 10 to 15 years later that we may have wished we had sold much earlier and gotten maximum value.... Do you realize that about 20 years or even 10 years ago banks would give any amount of loan to any investor to develop an oil block... but reality has shown that the value of oil block has diminished and most banks would consider it a risky investment given the low crude oil price...

My only prayer is that they sell it off to international investors... who are more efficient at managing such investments.

You have it exactly right. In fact, the possible gains from improved management are great enough to make most of these assets worth selling regardless of how much revenue their sale might bring in. I think any sane person would rather use a privately owned MMIA that was as well run as London's Gatwick, rather than suffer traveling through the sh*thole we currently call a national "asset".

The same goes for the refineries, the railroads, the ports, even the national stadium: everything the FG runs directly inevitably turns to sh*t, so why not sell them all off to international investors who know what they're doing, and have financial incentives to care about customer satisfaction?

if all the shares of the assests is listed on the exchange, trust me, Nigerian with minimum of 100k per share will buy it under a week, thats whate develop nations do, and the shareholders will elect the board of directors who will inturn appoint the management team, and corporate tax will ne paid to the local, state and Fg thats how to run an economy and diversify.

you guys voted in this clueless admin..

The FG should leave the assets for the host regions and let us all move on with our lives..these assets are already ready to be bought by the FG cronies..

We can't continue to be slaves to the FG...

The senators and other well meaning stake holders should fight against this sudden plan of FG to sell economical viable assets..

You didn't tell us how much host region will pay, I can see that the whole regional sh!t is about grabbing FG'S investments in the various regions while the Governors are encouraged to sit like oracles, sleeping and collecting revenue for nothing.

News flash! ! The FG will sell them all, anything you are not ready to pay for in full will be discarded.
If you love that oil well, by all means, pay its full worth.
Like I told some miscreants here previously, having oil in your backyard does not guarantee petrodollars, you need the oil and the investments to earn petrodollars, when you have oil without a corresponding investment and think Nigeria is yours for the taking, the investments are about to go while the oil stays, most of these urchins bombing everywhere will understand the real meaning of hunger.

Just watch, in coming years, a militant leader will cry on national TV begging for investments in his region..

When the rumour was rife that shell was leaving warri, it was like a joke till all buildings were vacated then they understood the meaning of peace.

now i see why buari dullard appointed northern ab..ki as head of nnpc. pipul of south south should be very warry of dis demonic govt. they ar about to be robbed in d name of recession. niger deltans, NEVER allow assets in ur region to be sold eva! buari in conjuction with baru (nnpc boss) n his born to rule partners from d north ar making plans to acquire (steal) oyel assets located in d niger delta through phony proxies. n d man task with d job to robe niger delta off their properties is buari's right hand man, d nnpc boss n odas in d oyel sector. does it makes sense dat abba kyari, buari's chief of staff is in nnpc board of directors
while baru is given d task of mobilizing unremited funds for buari's cronies to buy nnpc's assets. Kyari is task with giving feedbacks to buari on their plans to steal oyel assets. a task dat will never be successful if kachikwu is still nnpc boss. d dullard deliberately position his cronies at strategic positions in to oyel sector to robe niger deltans blind. their grand scheme to keep oyel money flowing to d north in case nigeria disintergrate.
all assets in niger delta belongs to d pipul of niger delta. they own the assets. dat is why in sane climes, it is d pipul from d region dat will determine whether assets in their area can be sold or not. even if they decide to sell, it will be sold to members of d public from d region were d assets ar located, not one madaforka from d north.
niger deltans must resist any attempt by dis govt to steal their properties under any guise.
d dullard is free to sell kaduna refineries to his cronies.

You bomb the assets on a daily basis, you ask Buhari to bring you out of hunger, conversely you ask him not to dispose the assets, Young man let me tell you the thinking of the government presently,

The cost of security and repair you are causing has downgraded those assets to Liabilities hence it is no longer in the interest of Nigeria to keep them.

The FG will put them up for sale, where we dont have a buyer, we shut them down completely.
Your brothers who were once engaged in those facilities should prepare to join the national statistics for the unemployed, all the coporate responsibilities of our partners will seize henceforth hope FTO comes to mind, Since 13% is calculated by what you produced, those assets will be struck off from derivation benefit.

Now the bombing id!ots will learn the true cost of violence.
Hunger awaits you all, national id!ots!!

My question is, are we selling dem to international buyers or local buyers?
Cos if we are saying we want to sell cos we need foreign exchange den it means we can't sell to Nigerians cos dey will b paying in Naira.
But if it's true we are selling to boost d 2016 budget, den wat will we sell for 2017 budget (I guess dat will be our heritage sites den).
But I will like government to think deeply about dis cos looking back at wat we have sold, we can see dats dare has not been a difference, in fact most of dos assets are worse now. D likes of Osogbo steel rolling, Ajaokuta steel, Nitel, Nepa, Nigeria shipping line, Nigeria airways n d likes.

The sale of Nitel gave birth to Econet then MTN and co, how can you call it a failure?

Only the ineffective buffon could not sell Nepa properly despite the good job obj did with NIPP and Nnaji did with balkanizing Nepa.

What happens after getting the so called funds needed to boost the economy? The issue is implementation, our leaders in different states most likely will blow the money away. What happened with the bail out funds that was released by FG to states? Some states still ended up owing it's workers and recession is in town. Well, let's see how they are going to implement the funds in different sectors.
