I believe he is talking about security, at least Apple has been tested and found worthy, xiaomi has done something great in the Android world, now let's wait for time to judge if they are on par with Apple.

What I think Xiaomi should do to up their game

Xiaomi should just cut the crap of announcing phones monthly like they've been doing recently. The Redmi series and the Mi series are enough to fill their annual phone lunch.

Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus + Redmi and Redmi Note

6 month later they should then announce

Mi 6s and Mi 6s Plus + Redmi Pro and Redmi Note Pro

their software has been banging so far -courtesy of Miui

they should then focus on innovating one or two spectacular hardware feature for every one or two years.

mine was the basic version(2gb ram) I really enjoyed that phone
