Hey good people of Nairaland, I have this challenge which I want to overcome as soon as possible because it might mar me if I don't correct it. I'm finding if difficult to control myself when I see females, am not the kind of guy who will admire her body, shape or curves if any. I will concentrate on her left fingers just to see if she is wearing a wedding or engagement ring. I make my conclusions based how matured I perceive the individual especially when the said girl is not wearing a ring. I think a lot about marriages, the pressure of getting married which emanates from different angles is worrisome but i can't get involved in it at the moment. My head and my eyes seems to have control over me. I don't know if guys go through this trauma. I have heard of masturbation, gay and the rest but I have never heard of this obsession of mine. I wont mind front page, insults are welcomed too. Thanks.

Please ignore any ignorant person trying to denigrate you for your sexual inclination, or advising you to see a pastor or doctor. There is nothing wrong with you.

Sexual attraction is an incredibly complex subject. Most of what we are attracted to, are genetically wired into our sexual psychology and are regulated by our genes.

What this means is that these sexual attractions we have, are instinctive. We don't consciously decide to feel them. We just find ourselves attracted to these things, because our genes predispose us to this attraction.

Take for instance the attraction to big boobs. Most of the men who are attracted to big boobs, do not know why they are attracted to big boobs, they just find it sexually attractive. Same with those attracted to a woman's ass, or a woman's waist, or a woman's lips, or a woman's legs.

So, what this means is that there isn't any objective right or wrong in respect to sexual attraction, as long as it isn't a vicious form of attraction, like one that predisposes you to violence.

But people tend to associate right and normal, with what's prevalent among majority of people. Think about it, what's the difference between being attracted to a woman's boobs or being attracted to a woman's legs? Is any more normal than the other? You see, these things are just random forms of sexual attraction that have been normalized by society because they occur among the majority of people.

Now, going by the basis of sexual attraction which I have just established, is there anything inherently wrong with your attraction to a woman's left finger? Of course not. It's just like any other form of attraction, except that it's not prevalent. But prevalence doesn't equal normality.
