My school does not have this course as their main course, but as a part time programm course, and its our lecturer who do take those part time students because some of them studied the course. I am studying sociology, and criminology is a sub-branch of my course. I think the coures is a very nice course.
Back then criminology was not introduced as a course to study, only for those who have obtained their degree in their area of study (majorly for masters)

I love this course so damn much but she refused to support me and told me tat Im so delusional to take this course...

grin grin babes you do that gal wey dey hate something? She must be the assistant OP mehn!

Criminology is a beautiful course. For a long time, zone reality was my preferred station on dstvv. I loved all the crime related real stories, I even followed the i-detective. I kinda understand your mom's reluctance...she probably doesn't want you exposed to the gory side of the reality of the profession. Although, you could have majored in account forensics grin

By the way, you could still give it a shot so long as you can pay your way through.

I'm loving my choosen career!!

Criminology and Security studies is a course full of insight with assured career development.

Thus far I think I want to be a practicing Intelligence Analyst. That is the aspect of Intelligence collection, processing and evaluation where Nigeria lack credible and competent professionals which has shown in ways Intelligence decision are made with gross error leading to lack of public trust among Nigeria Security Circle.

I look forward to have more discussions with fellow Criminologist.
Morning Bro Just Completed My Ssce And Am Intrested In The Course(criminology) Can Please Enlighten Me More And Tell Me The University U Attended.

I think forensic medicine is where you can delve in as a medical doctor.

you can go for forensic study which involves the examination of crime scene and criminal such as carrying out autopsy on the criminal and working in the lab. In this program, you
can gain a well-rounded understanding of the
justice system, as well as various types of
crime and criminal methods, preparing you for
a job as a detective or crime scene
investigator.

Very much allowed. Forensic science is a branch of criminology which works hand in hand with a criminologist.

I study criminology in the university and am very proud to be one. I remember I applied for accounting but eventually I was given criminology. At first I was so depressed and feeling reluctant to do the course, thank God for my friend who gave me a little orientation and courage to go for it. Society is the womb for crime, as much as the society keep existing, crime cannot be avoided of which makes the course so relevant. To say the fact, its a nice course to study. luckily for me ,my set is the pioneer of criminology in university of ilorin . 300l
Good to know we are fully represented@UniIlorin. If you are proud to be a criminologist then feel free to join the campaign for the establishment of Nigerian Society of Criminologists. It is our collective responsibity to promote this noble decipline in Nigeria.

I did criminology as an elective course in final year.

that was one course I really love.

the only snag is that the country is still a learner when It comes to using forensic science to solve crimes.
