I am not saying he isnt okay o, but Enyeama is better and if he comes back,he starts but Ikeme isnt bad at all
Enyeama is not coming back, Ikeme is Nigeria first choice and he's doing very well, we should be looking for a younger goalkeeper to understudy Ikeme.

Enyeama is a closed chapter in the history of Nigerian football.
He remains our all time best goalie but it is a shame he retired the way he did.

That was Ifeanyi Egwim.

Watched some Rangers highlights... Very impressed by the quality of their goals.. movement, pace and technique.. Not what i associate with the local league.

Who was the player that broke his leg in the last game of the season?

I know Emmanuel Daniel is on some people's minds.... But I think a younger and far more potential-laden understudy will be Dele Alampasu. smiley

You no dey tire with all those your names? grin

On substitute for Iwobi and Iheanacho. Iwobi did nt play against Tanzania didn't we have a player in that position?

For Iheanacho's substitute we have Etebo and even Mikel who can play the number 10 role.
Just tell Rohr u want Ajagun to be invited and stop beating about the bush grin.

For the RB in that game againat Zambia u expected us to play Ebuechi, Brian Idowu or Moses Odubajo?
Musa Mohammed was tagged not experienced enough how much less all those names you keep rolling out.

And who is Iwobi replacement?

Now that Etebor got injured who is next?

Mikel Obi? shocked shocked shocked grin angry so, Mikel Obi should be drafted to the second striker position? shocked

Are there no better replacement?

What is the problem if Ajagun is called to play for his father's land?

He is even playing in a better league than Esiti, Ndidi, Onazi, Azubuike and Nosa. Sorry! grin

So, do you mean Ndidi and Musa are more experienced than those players mentioned? shocked shocked chisos!

I can see you speak from both sides of your mouth sir.

Now let compare and contrast. grin

Behold the profile of Musa Mohammed, the player sir Icon4s assume to be more experienced than Brain Idowu, Tyrone Ebuechi and Moses Odubanjo. grin

Iheanacho Beats Yekini, Siasia Personal
Record After Scoring In Four Consecutive
Games

Kelechi Iheanacho. Photo Credit : mancity.com

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho
registered his name on the score sheet for the fourth straight game in the Super Eagles impressive 2-1 win over Zambia in a World Cup
qualifier on Sunday afternoon.

The 20-year-old’s 42nd minute goal saw him beat the personal record of Rashidi Yekini and his former strike partner Samson Siasia, who both scored in three consecutive matches for the Super Eagles.

The late Yekini first scored in three consecutive
games at the 1990 African Nations Cup, against
Egypt, Ivory Coast and Zambia, while ex-Nantes
star Siasia repeated the feat when he netted
against Benin Republic in an AFCON qualifier on
April 27, 1991 before scoring in his next two
matches against Burkina Faso (July 1991) and
Senegal (January 1992).

Iheanacho did not score in his first two games for the national team but ended that run when he hit target in 1-0 win over Mali in May, then scored against Luxembourg, Tanzania and Zambia. The Taye Academy product is Nigeria’s current top scorer this calendar year.

But the thing is when ever u love a player u sentimentally throw ur weight behind that player, disregarding all other factors that may come to play in terms of team selection and players performance. You know this is not the first time i would say this.

When the report came out about Ndidi getting the pick because of aerial balls, was that not one of the things I said he did well yesterday? It is not bias.

If you read what you quoted, you will see I am talking of a possessive style being a good option. Not the main option or only option.

Goldfish80 made it clear that it is an option to consider. Nwobodo is a passing player. He can play wide and he can be part of a possessive style Super Eagles if the coach chooses to use it.

I do not see what I wrote as bias or sentiment.

I knew it!

All that long write up was just to make a case for Ajagun. grin

See, Musa Mohammed is not entirely a bad player. He has performed excellently well in the two games he has played for Nigeria.

He is a player i can say is tested but not trusted.

Musa Mohammed is no new comer as far as African football is concerned. Having played the U17 & U20 of which he was one of the outstanding performers. We all know the quality Musa Mohammed posses yet we cannot trust him to cope with the battle of Ndola. I repeat how much less Ebuechi, Idowu and co.

As far as the national team set up and conditions are concerned Musa Mohammed is more experienced than those guys u mentioned.

Mohammed has what it takes to be a great RB bt its just that "he is not there yet". wink

As for replacement for Iwobi. You forget we have the highest abundance of players at the wings. V. Moses, Ahmed Musa, S. Moses, Imoh Ezekiel, Isaac Success, Karo Etebo. Any of these guys can easily be slotted into the wings position.

Also Alex Iwobi can also easily play behind the CF. So if Iheanacho is injured Iwobi is there.

Issue of Mikel replacing Iheanacho as a number 10. Did you not see Mikel play that position all through the Olympics. Do you also know at a point in that semi final against Germany Mikel was virtually playing a SS role as Etebo remained injured.

Also note that Etebo does not only play as a SS, he plays as Wing Forward( Nig vs Japan in Rio) & as a number 10 (CAF U23).

So oga, we have so many options in the wings and Central AM positions.

WHY GENK STAR NDIDI GOT THE NOD TO
START AGAINST ZAMBIA, ROHR EXPLAINS

The decision to start Wilfred Ndidi ahead of Musa Mohammed has generated debates in Nigeria especially as he was preferred ahead of Shehu Abdullahi who has also played as a right back for the Eagles.

Ndidi who is predominantly a central defender
during his days with the various arms of Nigeria
Youth teams, the Under-17 and 20s precisely
have been converted to a defensive midfielder by his Belgian side.

Playing him as a right full back in an important
game like the World Cup qualifiers between
Nigeria and Zambia caused a lot of concerns for
football loving Nigerians.

However shortly after the 2-1 victory we gathered that, Rohr went for Ndidi ahead of Musa and Shehu due to his marking abilities as opposed to the attack minded duo who have played in the position in the past.

Nigeria needed to keep things tight at the back and, Rohr noticed Ndidi marks better and doesn’t give out fouls around the edge of the box than most defenders in the team.

Aside that his aerial abilities in defending set
piece in training won Rohr over
, as the manager drilled his defenders on how to defend set pieces from which they expect Zambia to threaten prior to the game.

Right now, there is nothing to suggest, Ajagun deserves a place in the eagles. He has been benched in recent games.

This is in response to News that initially made rounds saying Rohr Rates Igiebor above Ogu or that Igiebor is the reason for Ogu's non call-up.

.......................................................................

STOP PRESS: NOT IGIEBOR, ROHR LIST
PLAYERS WHO ARE KEEPING OGU OUT OF
SUPER EAGLES

Head coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has corrected impressions in the media that Nosa Igiebor is keeping inform Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu out of the team.

Rohr also clarified what he meant when he said
he has players in his team who are better than
the Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfield anchorman in his team.

”The issue has been blown out of proportion, we presently have players who can play more than one role for the team in his position” He told Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent.

”We have Wilfred Ndidi who can play in more
than three roles, there’s Shehu Abdullahi as well
who can play two roles. Ogenyi Onazi is in the
team as well.

”If we listen to the media, we will call almost
everybody involved in football to the national
team. We have our own ways of calling players to the team and good players will always be called up in due time”.
