Hi Gazzuz and dexperts in d house,
Having an overheating issue with me infiniti Fx35.. D car was idle for 3weeks and when I moved it, I noticed it was overheating and one of ac fan not working. I hav repaced the ac fan but still ovrheating.. I scaned it and got P1721 error code. I have disconnet and onected back the battery but noticed that though I over heats but not as fast as before.. Before the temp jumps vey high under 5 min of driving but after disconnecting and conecting the batery, the temprature rise is gradual.. Attains a high temperatue rise after about 45 mins of driving. The car doesnt overheat while idle and even with the Ac on... Plese how do i reolve this overheating isue .. Whats the implication of this P1721 error code as per this overheating in my infiniti fx35 2005 model?

Please Gazzuzz help! My camry 2.2 99 model power steering pump failed leading to the steering not turning freely without much exertion of muscle. I have tried replacing the pump but it appears that after 3 different pumps were fixed, the car steering remains the same. My mechanic is suggesting that it may be from my steering rack, don't know how possible that is. Please Gazzuzz and othe auto gurus in the house I need advise on what to do as I am losing sleep over this.
Note: steering rack was replaced about 4 months ago

Please house urgent advice needed. I used my car a mercedes w203 c240 last on friday 8th july, just a drive to work and back home like any normal day. It rained heavily that night. I traveled next morning via public transport and i didnt even start the car. I actuaĺly left under heavy rain. Attempting to start the car on monday morning and engine wont crank though indicators on the dash were showing normal, horn and headlamps were working fine. First thought was battery and i asked a neighbor to help. No difference. I called an electrician and asked for a scan first which indicated some fault around the fuse box in the hood close to the wind shield on the drivers side. Guy said fuse box is damaged as water entered it and needs to be replaced. The 3rd one has just been tested without success and the guy is already suggesting a new key. I'm thinking if the car doesnt start today I'll get me a new guy to work on it. I just need advise on any possible cause of this from prior experience so i can guide this guy or the new one as it may be because I have to get that car up by saturday or I'm done with it. Gazzuz and others I cant need you more desperately than now. Thanks

Check if your spare tyre has a sensor on it. If it has make sure the tyre is gauged. Lexus is guilty of this!

OK. I'm a newbie both to car ownership and driving. I know next to nothing about car care...apart from washing d body and tire tho.

I just got a 2002 model, Honda v6 car..."baby boy". its nigerian used...so far I've been asking questions from car owners I know, and I've come to know I need to do a regular service for the engine and wheel alignment.

please, what other things do I need to look out for, do and/or avoid.

Honda car users, previous users and car experts opinions are coveted.

. . . as with any other vehicle, preventive maintenance shouldn't be overlooked. Being a Honda, any little noise anywhere is alot of noise. Have it checked

Oga Gazzuzz and guys, Good morning.
Just fixed an engine oil leak that Gazzuzz helped me correct thru my mechanic. But we now noticed that my power steering oil is leaking underneath the drivers side.
He is saying the steering rack needs to be 'serviced' cos it's a minor leak.
M question is should I allow him remove my rack for the 'servicing', is it a complicated job or can a regular goodd mechnic do it? Honda Accord 1998 i4

Bros what spark plugs do your recommend for a 1988 230 E. The mechanics that my mother have used have almost destroyed the car. They used the dipstick to gap the spark plug. There were two different types used.

Bros Gazzuz, good morning, I know you're pretty vast and knowledgeable in car repair. And I am pretty pleased with the good work you have put up here.

To cut long story short, my car, Toyota Camry V6 2003 shows these error codes P0171, p0174, p0302, p0420, p0430 and p0128.

And I would like to know how to read fuel consumption on a scanner. I also would love yo know the shortest path to removing these error codes. I learnt on YouTube that I can have the secondary o2 sensor spaced from the catalyst. It consumes fuels more.

Kindly assist bro. Thanks

Include all the descriptions of individual codes.

E.g P0420 catalytic converter below threshold bank 1.

There are others viewing this thread, and I would like them to benefit from this disscusion.

Alright boss.
P0171 : system too lean
P0302: cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0128: coolant thermostat (coolant temperature below thermostat)
P0420: catalytic converter below threshold bank 1
P0430:catalytic converter below threshold bank 2
P0174: system too lean.

Thanks bro as you advise a possible solution for me.

Your thermostat has been removed and your fans running when engine is started.

Your 2 catalysts are faulty.

System Too Lean (Bank 1/2) means that the engine air-fuel mixture is too lean, or there is too much air and too little fuel. Driving a car with the code can cause more damage to your vehicle over time, as when the engine runs lean, the combustion temperature is much higher.

Causes of this condition could be any of the following

- Intake or vacuum leaks
- Clogged or faulty Mass Air Flow sensor
(MAF)

- Faulty PCV valve
- Stuck open purge valve/solenoid
- Faulty oxygen sensor
- Low fuel pressure
- Clogged catalytic converter

The highlighted are very common causes.

The misfires could be caused by faulty sparkplugs, faulty coils, faulty injectors or low engine compression.

thanks for your informative feedback. Please what is the way out of these error codes. and how much will I get the two catalysts if I am to replace em.
The fans should run when engine is hot instead, right? How do I fix that?

in 5 cases I saw, a rodent chewed on the wires grin. Remove the airfilter search the gearbox for the sensor, join the broken wire back, tape it up.
