Beautiful memories ...

Yes, I read a lot of those books and even though I was a "pure science" student studying the threee sciences, Further Mathematics, Technical (Building) drawing, etc , I still clung on to Literature - thanks to my dad's foresight - and to the school's councellor's disdain cheesy

Did any of you read The Unknown Soldier?

Funny, I had aways thought you are a lawyer.I remember having an arguement with you once.I probably got the impression from something related to law that u said. But then it possible for someone who majored in science in secondary sch to still become a lawyer.

grin Those were the days of good writers and good readers, i still remember some of these books by heart.

I don't even know what they give kids to read these days sad

Probably some good schools still keep those classics in the school syllabus and mix with some modern stuff...most of these works are universal classics that cut across continents, races, cultures, religion, creed and wtv so they cant be wiped off just easily..Like if i see a grown man/lady who doesn't know a Shakespeare play or story is really weird..... its part of the world educational system n most of them are even being brought to life in modern movies for the younger ones to catch up.

Wow i am trying to imagine life without @least one of Shakespeare plays or even Charles Dickens embedded in me n to think of growing in a warring country like that..maybe u should enlighten us about what they taught u there cos am very sure u must have some wonderful literature ....no Marxism-Leninism .How many countries is the former Socialist Republic now? sad
