Sorry for coming late! For those that need the calculation here i come! From your previous information the dish size is 2.4m (240cm) and the depth is 37.5cm. Looking at my diagram (fig.1 and fig.2), from parabola calculation, X= r*r/4F
where X is the depth of the dish,
r is the radius = 240/2 =120cm
F is the focal length.
substituting in the formula,
37.5=120*120/4F, 37.5*4F=14400, 150F=14400
F=14400/150, F=96cm
From Pythagoras,
Hypotenuse (H) square = Opposite (f) square + Adjacent (r) square
i.e, H*H = f*f + r*r, where f = F-X
f = 96-37.5 = 58.5
H^2 = 58.5*58.5 + 120*120,
= 3422.25 +14400
H^2 = 17822.25
H = Square root of 17822.25
H = 133.5cm. This is assume length of tripod.
but looking at the second diagram, to be continue....

The actual tripod length square = (Focal length - depth) square + (dish radius - scalar ring radius) square,
i.e H^2 = (F-X)^2 +(r - sr), where Scalar ring radius sr = 16.5/2= 8.25cm (i.e C-band scalar ring radius)
H^2 = 58.5^2 + (120-8.25)^2
H^2 = 3422.25 + 12488.0625
H^2 = 15910.3125
H = square root of 15910.3125 = 126.136
therefore the length of the tripod H = 126.1cm
provided that the information you gave on the dish depth and diameter is correct.

Fellow Nairalanders, I have a somewhat similar case like that of Ugwem above me. I just got a 32 inch Samsung smart LED tv which when scanning for stations on digital/terrestrial mode will get over 800 satellite stations but none won't show. it will only be displaying no signal or scrambled channel. it will even show the program name or movie title being aired at that particular time only that it won't show or give audio.
So, to the gurus in the house, what do i do to be able to get all these channels. Do I need a dish for this Samsung smart tv or what?
Secondly, I have a strong SRT 4950 decoder which i got in 2014 and is still working but I want to know if there are more better and more stronger decoder out there in the market cos sometimes it is slow in showing channel when you change the station to another one, sometimes taking as much as a minute, or two or five minutes and at times, it won't even show and I am someone that likes watching movies, wrestling, documentaries and boxing although I don't so much like football. Pls house I need solution to a friend of mine Qsat28. Ever since he has updated to the Autoroll software the decoder has been restarting every 30mins and it only whenever his watching Astral 28E(MultiTv) stations, 22W(MBC) stations or 16e(TVC) but when his watching the C-band e.i sport24 it doesn't restart at all. He has done the factory reset and he has also installed the outdated software which it doesn't restart but whenever he install the autoroll it started restarting.

Only tvc nigeria remain active,manual scan the tp and secured the channel.

Check your connection between the diseqc and the lnb .There's likely a bridge
