I think Nff and the super eagles handlers goofed big time by inviting Tyrone Ebuechi without running proper background checks to know if the lad had any interest turning out for the eagles. I feel ashamed that a huge country as big as Nigeria is getting turned down by a 20yr old kid publicly.
Does it mean the nff never spoke to him or his parents about a call up? Can someone please explain this fvck up?!

This is exactly the reason I always call for a proper re organisation of the Npfl. If our league was formidable enough, we wouldn't be exposed to such ridicule by these foreign born machineries.
For what it's worth, this Tyrone guy I make bold to say is not more talented than Chidiebere Okoli (Marcelo) the Rangers full back. Anyone who has seen Chidiebere play, please feel free to come online and tell me you have been disappointed whenever you have watched him play..

To Tyrone, I hope you enjoy your stint with the Dutch side. Its a pity you chose to dump a team with an upward trajectory for another who has stagnated with no exciting prospects in the saddle.
Since Van de Vart, Sneijder, Van persie and Robben generation. Netherlands have yet to produce a single super star or a prospect to reckon with. With Nigeria, you will have played alongside Iheanacho, Success, Moses, Iwobi and the likes, but instead you choose to play with Jessen, Depay, Bruno Martins Indi and the likes... I wish you good luck.

My people say "Nke mji ka". Meaning the one i have is the best.

Can this Ebuehi boy offer more than what Musa Mohammed and Shehu Abdulahi can offer us at RB? Is he even better than Nura Abdullahi and John Lazarus?

Nobody even expects him to have a starting shirt against Algeria sef.

GoodLuck to him. If him like make he turn to another Alaba tomorrow no him sabi.

He can still play for us but we have to respect his decision, the only other thing would be to force him into making a choice by getting fifa involved but i think the best thing is to act like this never happened and blame the list on newspapers. Still imagine if he had come and flopped, it is a good thing that he himself is saying he is not ready for such a challenge.

I have my doubts he's better than some of the names you listed. Musa Muhammed is a world class full back in the making. He was the top scorer at the AYC not so long ago, playing RB.
If he finds consistency at a proper football club,Tyrone cannot hold a candle in front of him.

I will always advocate for local talents and the development of the npfl. I hope we make meaningful gains with the foreign investors willing to fund the league with upwards of $1b+...

I will struggle to name players who have rejected Nigeria and became world class, Alaba being the exception. Hence, there are more chances he will likely become another Onuoha and Owomoyela than Alaba.

bro, you're taking this far more personal than it actually is.

At least the kid had the decency to say he isn't ready, unlike Success that came up with an emergency injury. I didn't see you write an epistle then

Don't know why y'all are acting like scorned women at his rejection, assuming things that may be false. Have some superiority complex for once and stop assuming every foreign based player rejected you cuz they want the fancy, foreign country to field them. It sounds pathetic.

Hey, maybe he rejected us cuz after he saw our rising stars, he realised he's not quite at that level and decided to stay away to avoid embarrasment.... How about that perspective for once?

I dint think he is interested in playing for us. Had he been invited by the Dutch national team, he would have been all over snapchat clicking glasses with his friends and his Dutch club applauding his development. We all know the drill

It's nice to have a female perspective on a male dominated thread. However, in this case we have to be frank with ourselves.
A lot of players were way younger than Tyrone when they made their debut. He has over 20 appearances for his club, a number Iwobi wasn't even close to getting when his father brought him to SE camp.

When Success turned out for Watford the following week after the game against Zambia, I called him out on this thread. I figured he was trying to be another Babayaro who dodged away games for the SE.

Even if he wasn't ready, courtesy demands he came to Nigeria with his parents and train with the team, with an agreement he will play no role in the game with the TA. That's how things are done.

@Kog45, I think you may be misinterpreting Mikael here as his point about the captaincy is a valid one.

Case in point: When Domenech persuaded Zidane to come out of retirement in 2005 to help France revive a fledgling campaign, he was reinstated as captain. I think Luis Figo did the same (though I am not sure)

Adding the complexity of Nigeria, Mikael's question about the captaincy isn't far fetched. During the 2002 WCQ, Sunday Oliseh stayed away from a match in Omdurman. On his return for the last match against Ghana, PH fans were demanding that he should relinquish the captaincy to Finidi even though he only missed one match. Of course, we have had other former captains recalled to the team where there was no issue(Peter Rufai in 1998 comes to mind)

That Mikael may have a reputation for "hatred for Mikel" doesn't mean all his comments should be viewed from that lens when infact he raises an issue that might well arise if Enyeama returns

God bless u my man,it is left for Rohr to decide who to captain Eagles if eventually great Enyeama is given a recall, though seniority always play a major role but sometimes coach don't see it that way

Olishe was part of d golden generation and he doesn't see it as seniority issue and made Musa d captain,i personally frown at it coz Enyeama was still in d camp but he had his way.

Due to this humiliation Enyeama announced his retirement and Musa was made skippo despite Mikel presence and when siasia came in he made Mikel d captain. When Rohr was announced as d coach,he said Mikel is d captain

I remembered during Maroc 88 Afcon qualifier Andrew Use was appointed as d team captain at d expense of Keshi and nothing happened, also 1984 afcon young Stephen Keshi was appointed as d captain at d expense of Muda Lawal. The same scenario played itself at maroc 88 Rufai at d expense of Henry Nwosu.Olishe at d expense of finidi at 2002 Afcon

My point is this a coach decides whether seniority or not,d recall of Enyeama does not give him license to d captain band

It is left for Rohr to decide who to lead eagles,so there is no need for us to assume for him.Honestly i was of d thought that it should be seniority but here in Nairaland a guy told me NO it's d coach that decides

dude, I'm not a man or a bro, I'm a sis.

Once again, stop moaning about these things, the guy say e never ready, toh, leave matter. No need to juxtapose teams and assume he would have jumped at the Dutch team, which I don't think he doesn't have the right to honestly

This is a boy that only knows Netherlands, the only thing that joins him to Nigeria is a father that probably never spoke of the country, most of us condemning him would most likely jump at a chance to play for Netherlands rather than Nigeria that can't even get their shiit together for an extended period of time.

Take a chill pill, no need to beat ourselves up. We'll go to Russia with or without the kid, he's not Kompany or Marcelo

Bros, reason the matter well abeg. Iwobi has 2 Nigerian parents, his UNCLE is JJ Okocha, this boy with a Dutch mama does not have the same story, so comparing them is kinda off.

Ok. Kontinu. I will draw u back to this ur statement one day.

So Rohr u don hear na. Aluko is better than Iheanacho and Iwobi. Hope its not too late to invite him for the Algeria clash?

Aluko is more skillful than Iheanacho and Iwobi. Fact!

But it (his skills) is inconsequential now because at present, Iheanacho and Iwobi are way ahead of him.

It is a simple thing.

The Ebuehi's case is simple. His heart is not with the Super Eagles. No need for him considering his future with us. Let him focus in his career while we search for those who are proud and find it an honor to play for us.

We need the likes of Balogun, Iwobi and Ekong who will put us first. There are good talents here too who can push us.

Pinnick and co. should stop trying to convince players to choose us. That is no what we need. We need those eager to wear the jersey and make us proud.

All these were trying to convince is irritating me. Pinnick, please grow some pride.

If we had a sure quality creative midfielder, Iheanacho would play up front. Aluko is there and he can play comfortably behind the striker. Why limit ourselves?

Respect for your wonderful thought, hating is a disease and if someone cannot control himself is a big issue.

How on earth w somebody come to this thread and indirectly saying Enyeama should be back coz of Mikel captain band then a wonderful Ikeme should be bench for no reason than hatred for God sake.

Honestly i have players that i don't like but that should not give me reason to base my analysis on hatred towards them
Cristiano Ronaldo once said “I actually need my haters – they have help me achieve all that I have achieved”

In that context, he is being motivated to work extra hard and perform extraordinarily in the pitch in order to prove his maligners wrong, so he sees the activities of his haters as an incentive, not as a stumbling block.

The role of haters and unrelenting critics are significant in our lives.

Jesus was made to go through those appalling and heinous belligerencies by his haters and adversaries in order to fulfil his earthly destiny.

Joseph attained success when he became the Prime Minister of Egypt via the contributions of his Brothers that hated him.

Christians are sometimes or have been motivated in the past to pray(obeying God's word) because they need or needed God's intervention and emancipation from their challenges. And this is why some people spend about 70% of praying time and efforts on an offensive and a solace seeking kind of prayer.

The Mikel that we expect to see against the Algerians is the Mikel that is motivated to “give it all” that day, the Mikel that wants to prove haters, traducers, skeptics and Conte wrong, so such efforts will improve his play which will be good for us that day smiley

That "at present" is what we are talking about.

With players like Iwobi, Iheanacho and Etebor in the team Aluko doesn't stand a chance.

Rabiu Ibrahim and Joel Obi with all their skills cant also make the team.

Aluko has been unfortunate in his career not to have worked with a good coach. All through his career he has had to work with below average managers like Steve Bruce, Phil Brown, Alex macliesh and watered down guys like that in the lower leagues and Scotland.
If he had been fortunate to work with an Arsene Wenger, Pochetino, Conte or even Guardiola his game would have been far from his current level.

Personally, I see him making a great attacking left back with his skill set and education.
His ability to get away from markers, his passing, speed and crossing can prove vital as a Morden left back. All he needs is conditioning and proper coaching and you're looking at a left back bomber like Marcelo.
Unfortunately, guys like Phil Brown are more interested in their sun tanning creams than thinking out of the box in making a world class player.

He should come and train with Nigeria ke? I did not know Rohr is now Wenger. So, if na you be the boy papa, you go advise am to buy visa, reach country wey e no sabi, just to train.

Bros, reason the matter well abeg. Iwobi has 2 Nigerian parents, his UNCLE is JJ Okocha, this boy with a Dutch mama does not have the same story, so comparing them is kinda off.

Like I said, what works for Peter may not work for Paul, let him decide the path his career will take, eez nuh awa problem. By next year, some of us for don forget say he even reject us.

Posterity will judge

Alaba snr actually brought David to the national team U17 camp and he trained with the team before the coach judged him to be too small to make his team.
All am saying is that Tyrone should have honoured the call and trained with the team. His minders can reach an agreement with the TA that he's not ready to play a role in the game.
He was sent an invitation with the federal Republic stamp and coat of arm on it. He should have honored the call and probably stayed away from the game since he is not ready. That is if he was interested in representing Nigeria.

TheGoodJoe:

I love free flowing attacking football. It is hard for me to enjoy the game if it is not played that way. It started from Clemens Westerhof's Super Eagles.

I watch football to entertain my self. If it is not creative, brilliant and attacking, it feels I am wasting my time.

It is not all about winning for me. Just like Guardiola's recent run without winning, I was okay because we were playing well.

That is why I like watching Arsenal and Barcelona.
So you are indirectly saying that you will be gratified and elated if Man City plays entertaining football and ends up failing to win trophies? To me, that is nauseating. The foremost/ultimate objective of any football club/national team is to win trophies. This is what fans want, playing entertaining football without getting desired results is only ephemerally entertaining your fans on the pitch and not afterwards.

Ndidi: Algeria Should Be Scared Of Iheanacho, Iwobi, Ighalo, Musa

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has
declared that the team is not afraid of the
intimidating credentials of the Fennecs of Algeria
ahead of the 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo on
12 November.

Ndidi has been included in the 24-man Nigeria
squad for the key qualifier.

While speaking exclusively to Complete Sports
from his Belgium base, the KRC Genk midfielder
insists that Nigeria boast quality talents as much
as the Algerians and that it will be down to
attitude on the day when the game kicks off.

He said: "Much has been said about the fact that
Algeria have Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani at
Leicester City as well as Sofiane Feghouli in West
Ham but Nigeria also have Alex Iwobi at Arsenal,
Kelechi Iheanacho at Manchester City, Mikel Obi
at Chelsea, Ahmed Musa at Leicester and Odion
Ighalo at Watford. I think it is the Algerians who
should have cause to be afraid of us, not the
other way around."

Ndidi, who was saw 90 minutes action for his
Belgian top-flight side in their 2-0 win over
Westerlo on Saturday, also revealed that though
little is known about the Fennecs he has played
several times against their newly appointed
manager Georges Leekens from the coach's time
with Belgian Pro League side Lokeren.

"I knew the coach while he was at Lokeren. We
beat his team 3-0 away in our game against
them. Though I expect his Algerian team to be
stronger than Lokeren were, I still think his
formation and philosophy won't be different and I will be passing that on to the appropriate
quarters," he said.

The former Flying Eagles defender also spoke
about the return of Portugal-based Oghenekaro
Etebo and Israel-based John Ogu to the national
team, a development he describes as very
heartwarming.

"I'm happy to see that Etebo as well as Ogu are
coming back. Their qualities are undoubted and
they will add to the depth of options available to
the coaches. I've not been in camp with Ogu
before but I was in the team that played
Luxembourg with Etebo. He is very hardworking
and funny. He livens up the camp with his jokes
and I'm sure we'll have a nice time in camp," the
former Nath Boys of Lagos player said.

Nigeria face old foes Algeria at the Godswill
Akpabio International Stadium Uyo on November
12. The Eagles lead the group with three points
ahead of Algeria and Cameroon who are on one
point each and Zambia who are pointless.

Pep on Kelechi And Kun in yesterday's press conference prior to the etihad clash with Barca today.
................

"Kelechi is a young player - huge talent but he is still learning. Sergio is a special player. We have to convince him how special player he is for us.
We need him a lot. When he’s in that behaviour
and has that hunger in that moment Sergio is
definitive.

"He’s a big part of the history of this club and we want to help him to become a bigger part of this fantastic club."

I’ve good understanding with Iheanacho,
Iwobi – Ideye

Olympiakos forward Brown Ideye has vowed to
produce his club form for the Super Eagles in
their Russia 2018 World Cup Group B qualifier
against Algeria’s Desert Foxes in Uyo on
November 12 and cement his place in the team
permanently.

The Greece-based player, who returned to the
national team after three years in the
international wilderness in April following his
invitation by the then Eagles’ caretaker coach
Salisu Yusuf for the friendly games against Mali
and Luxembourg, is on coach Gernot Rohr’s 24-
man list for the Algeria clash.

The 28-year-old West Brom flop but Olympiacos Class Act laid a pass for Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho to charge in and slot the ball past veteran Zambia goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene for Nigeria’s second in their 2-1
defeat of Chipolopolo in their opening Russia 2018 qualifier in Ndola on October 9.

Ideye, who has scored six goals for the Legend in the Greece Super League in six appearances this term to help them to maintain their position at the top of the table on 18 points, says he is going to play his heart out for the Eagles in Uyo.

The South Africa 2013 Africa Cup of Nations
winner says he has no fear over losing his place in the Eagles, given the rising profiles of Premier
League attacking duo Iheanacho and Arsenal’s
Alex Iwobi in the national team.

“I have a good understanding with Iheanacho
and Iwobi,” the former Ukraine-based attacker
said in an interview with SuperSport on Monday.

“I don’t have any problem with them; I enjoy
playing with them.”

Ideye, who emerged as the winner of the Best
Goal in the Greek topflight recently, said he was
ready to play in any position in the Eagles against the Desert Foxes.

The former Dynamo Kiev star said, “I’m looking
forward to the game. I’m ready to play anywhere for the Eagles. I played in different positions under the late Stephen Keshi.”

Ideye, who said he would try his best to score
goals in the encounter, maintained the Eagles
won’t disappoint against their North African
opponents.

He dismissed the potential threat posed by
Leicester City attackers Riyad Mahrez and Islam
Slimani to Nigeria’s leadership of the qualifying
group, saying the three-time African champions
would stop them.

The former France-based striker said, “We know
that they have good players but we’ll do
everything to beat them.We also have good
players.”
