You are referring to Wa Jo.

Eje Ka Jo was done in the early '80s (around 1983)by Roy and Stella Murray-Bruce under the name Xtasy (they were assisted by their elder brother, Ben).

Wa Jo was done by Nel Oliver sometime between 1989 and 1991.

By the way, welcome to the thread. You are the first person to do what I'm hoping for. You just reminded me of Monkey Come Chop Banana.

I'm hoping that someone will remind me of the name of the hausa song, the name of the artist that sang One Early Morning and the name of that Charlie Boy song.

The hausa song was performed at almost every state occasion in the 1970s and '80s, along with Nike Nike, Iya Ni Wura and Omo Pupa. Almost everybody I ask can remember the tune, but nobody remembers the name of the song or the lyrics.

I had the little 331/3 disc of One Early Morning. It's a James Brown kind of funk song. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the person that sang it.

Charlie Boy released a song in the early 1980s. I later discovered that it's a cover of an older song. I call it Onyiora because I can't remember the actual name of the song, but the chorus, when translated into english, goes something like, "Mad man, he's a madman. Catch him, he's a madman".

I think that Onyiara song was initially sang by multi instrumentalist,Jake Solo. I am not sure but that guy was a bad mudafocker.

And I think the song "Going back to my roots",by Lamont Dozier, should be on this list. The Yoruba lyrics on that song were written by Orlando Julius, although I not sure he was credited on the album.

Wow! You learn something new everyday. I thought about them, but I didn't include them because I consider them to be americans. I didn't know that Orlando Julius wrote the yoruba lyrics.

I love Orlando Julius! I was absolutely crazy about Dance Afro-Beat. He also did another fantastic song in the early 2000s (together with his wife). He also did his own interpretation of the Village Headmaster theme tune.

The lyrics of which of them?

Nel Oliver's Wa Jo was partially sung in french. I think the girl that acted in the video also acted in Mike Okri's Omoge.

I'll search YouTube for the videos of both songs.

I can't remember all the words, but I'll give you an idea of the lyrics of Ejekajo.

"Feel the rhythm, in the groove.
Sole desire, to move.
Feel the heat, in the ****
Don't let go, don't let go, don't let go.

E je ka jo!"

Neptu I think the Hausa song you can't remember goes thus ...." Ina za muje, Ina za muje ,Ina za muje Naijeriya , ina za aa muje " can't remember the artist but I think Bala Miller also sang it on his TV show those days .
